    I'ts an interesting mod, but I'm not sure if I like the tiered magnets. It feels too linear and simple to me. Create is about using all the tools at your disposal to make whatever you want, and this feels more progression based than the base mod and the rest of it's add-ons. You don't have different tiers of cogs that can spin faster, for example. It's a great concept, but I think it could be executed better. Just not my cup of tea.
    Edit: tiered magnets, wires, and motors

    • @rocksfire4390
      @rocksfire4390 Před 6 měsíci +12

      you got tiered power sources in normal create, this isn't any different. to get the "better" sources you have to go and set up production lines for those better sources, again not any different then the tiered system of the magnets.
      like if you want to go from water wheels to windmills you need a LOT of wool. you want boilers? well you need copper and coal/charcoal, to get even better boilers you need blazes fed with blaze cakes.

    This mod also treats electricity as "just energy". It would be great if they could add voltage and amps in the same way that create has stress units and rpm. voltage as the rpm, and amps as the stress units. along with melting/burning blocks etc when the amps are too high, and perhaps electrocution if the voltage is too high and the parts aren't insulated properly.

    • @erumaaro6060
      @erumaaro6060 Před 4 měsíci

      I'll check it out. I've heard that it's a difficult mod, but that's perfect for me. The old 1.7.10 mod ElectricCraft (an addon for RotaryCraft) has a simplified electricity system: It essentially uses the same system the RotaryCraft does just with volt and amps instead of rpm and torque. transformers acted like lossy gears that need cooling. resistive loss was proportional to current, so using high tension for power transmission was important. Resistors acted like current limiters, just independent of the voltage. Batteries could only charge or discharge, bu not both. A circuit could only have up to 4 current sources, or your cables turn into lava... Yeah, definitely quite a few simplification, but still far better than most other electricity mods I've seen.@@samonautika

    I'm not a fan of the ridiculous diamond costs for the final tiers of magnets (especially because diamonds aren't magnetic). I feel like one of the biggest selling points of Create is that it doesn't require stupid amounts of things like diamonds or ender pearls just to generate power, perform various crafting steps, or make cool building blocks. In fact, Create almost exclusively uses materials that _aren't_ expensive in its crafting recipes: copper, andesite, wood, kelp, etc. You also have to consider that it's probably a lot easier to build two or three hematite magnet generators than to spend the time required to build a diamond one.

    19:30 corium applies radiation randomly (using random ticks, so random tick speed would affect its speed)
    This is how corium works:
    Every time it random ticks:
    1. It applies radiation in radius of 20
    2. It adds heat to blocks around it
    3. With 5% chance, it becomes solid
    4. It checks if it can break the block underneath it, rolls a number from 2 to 12 and if that number is over that blocks explosion resistance, it eats it.

    • @Autoskip
      @Autoskip Před 6 měsíci

      I'm pretty sure it was applying radiation whenever it ate a block - which is still random, but saying that it applies radiation randomly is like saying that standing on a sapling will suffocate you after a random amount of time - it's not false, just missing a step and suggesting it's a direct result.

    The only thing I wonder is if this mod will become available on Modrinth if it isn't already for one, and two, if they'll keep it up to date on 1.19.2 alongside 1.20.1 on fabric. Also that cable mechanic reminds me of... I wanna say Industrial Craft? I don't remember, it was a mod that existed primarily only really during the days of 1.7.10 to 1.12.2, but ended up getting dropped in support entirely and never touched beyond said version of the game from what I know.

    Crafts'n'Additions with electric water wheel (with seems cool) and NuClEaR PoWaH, cool concept about heatpipes tho, point for that. Nuclear turns me off tbh, kinda seems too new for this, jumping from burning charcoal to atom that's cheap and simple as soup... yea, kinda weird direction.
    On that topic you realy should check out Compressed Creativity, it adds connection between pneumaticraft and create and seems like solid alternative to electricity.
    Btw, am i the only one who loves those "immersive engineering-like" power cables instead of "block-like" cables from thermal/buildcraft/way-too-many-of-them, seems like one of the better and more esthetically pleasing options out there, tho i would add a limit to how many connections you can make from one node, just to spice things up.

    It looks like the Corium was only producing radiation when it ate through a block - admittedly, I only have two datapoints confirming it, but the first two times you took radiation poisoning were when the Corium block fell through a block - and the last time could've been the same block melting through the ground beneath your showcase shed.

    it seems like it would be much more efficient in material use for the magnet blocks if instead of making new layers you made side generators and could use one side of the magnet blocks for two setups! is this possible of can a magnet block only be part of one setup?

  • @jesther2575
    @jesther2575 Před 4 měsíci

    I really that we should be able to craft or create magnetite, since its literally just iron oxide of a different form. We just have to make it using energized iron of something that way we can still have that progression in electricity since we will need to first find magnetite to power the generator.

    I'm throwing together a little modpack for some friends and myself, my friend REALLY likes Create but I don't use it much so I'm pretty ignorant to how FE and Electricity and other stuff works. So is this compatible with other mods that use electricity? If so what mods?

  • @Nikolai_The_Crazed
    @Nikolai_The_Crazed Před 5 dny

    Honestly, this add-on has some really terrible efficiency. You can literally eat up most of your SU trying to generate a decent amount of electricity, but the output you can actually get is incredibly small by comparison. You can generate over 1M SU, and struggle to get 250,000k out of it at the end. The carbon brushes, the wires, and the motors just don’t have enough umpf to do it. Most of your energy production is wasted, because the max you can get out of the carbon brushes is around 17.3K energy units a tick, the diamond wires only carry about 8K per tick, and if your using the reinforced motors then you wind up using more energy than you can transport. You can use more carbon brushes, yes, but then you need more lines to pull energy from those brushes, and independently carry that current to the motors to generate the SU. Especially because a single line can’t even handle the output of a single carbon brush. It would be one thing if you needed more lines to accommodate three or four brushes, but it can’t even handle ONE. It’s basically a double bottleneck, and it causes you to lose a shit load of your power production. It’s basically not worth it in its current configuration. It wouldn’t be ass bad if the caps for both were higher, and the wires had a higher cap than a single carbon brush. But it doesn’t right now, so I don’t really see the point of this mod.

    I never heard of Reactors being used to generate power through Stirling engines.
    It's always Steam Turbines. Every single case.
    In Power Plants, and Nuclear Submarines, the Reactor creates Steam, which in the process cools the reactor, and then moves through a steam turbine which rotatates and powers a Generator which is what provides the electric energy.
    Nuclear Aircraft Carriers, like the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) (not to be confused with CV-6), or the Nimitz Class, or the USS Gerald R. Ford, the Reactor also uses steam to power a Turbine, but the Turbine directly powers the shafts to the propellers to move the ship.
    But enough about Shipping, let's speak Create.
    I guess you need to heat a stock Create Boiler to power Steam Pistons to power a generator, to create electricity. And the Boiler Heaters are exactly for that.
    But still, I'm over from Stormworks, a game specifically about building vehicles, and it does include Steam propulsion, electric motors, generators, and Nuclear Reactors.

    • @DrRussian
      @DrRussian Před 6 měsíci

      I dont think it was intended for stirlings to be powered by the reactor, they just use the same thermal system. the heaters can replace blaze burners, so its likely it was meant to be for the boilers to begin with.
