Totally agree its all about personnal preference and use. I prefer the seal because of its look, physical buttons, the 360 view. Despite there's no planner, no one pedal drive, small trunk...The first time I saw it and then tried it, i just fell in love❤

I've covered 3000km in mine so far, super happy, no issues what so ever, great car.
Hi! Your steering wheel doesn't vibrates above 80 km/h? This one has 600 km only
@@rogernelson1171 it did, the dealer swapped tires which sorted the issue. The foam in the original tires was deformed from shipping. I now have 10000 km on it!

This car is the best car I've ever owned. (I went and got the performance model). Absolutely love driving it. Insanely quick, looks great, feels great. More physically equipped cabin than the Model 3. It does need better software for the self-driving capabilities but coming from a 2012 sports car, I prefer to drive anyway.

The Seal is a lovely EV. My only concern was the booth, but Derek covered it well; it was nice to get measurements to see if it would make sense to go from a hatchback or with the Atto3 instead.

The car looks great in black, it certainly emphasises the shape of the car.
It certainly does, but as an owner of the car in that colour, its impossible to keep clean!
@@danielkierannevin9081 having owned black car I completely agree with your statement. They look fantastic when cleaned and polished, but they show up every speck of dirt.
@michaeljohnson-li5nn 100%. It's like a part time job keeping it even respectable. Plus any scratch or whirl shows up too. However, like you said, when all cleaned and polished, looks the absolute business.

Have done 4000km in my AWD now - love the driving experience (coming from an EV6) and the finish.

Something I noticed at the show was the design of the door handles makes it fairly easy to catch your fingers. Also other reviewers saying the KW dial on the dash is useless info that you really don’t need and you can’t change

The screen for the panoramic roof is that thing in the boot. It’s a 2 piece screen which once fit is nice and tidy but a bit fiddly to fit so not really practical to fit and remove often.
In the UK there's a 53L Frunk - doesn't the Ireland version not have that?
Yes we do - I don't think he was aware of it. I certainly have 53L up front, it's where I keep my granny cable.

We need the estimated Ground Clearance with actual measurement.. from Front to the Back.. Because in my country, the ground clearance is very important
Same here. CZcams channel Ludicrous Feed has all that info.

Looks like the left hand steering wheel stalk operates the wipers and the left one operated the lights , might take some getting used to, especially if you often drive another car

its a cracking looking EV, sat into it at the rds show. I'm happy with my model 3 , but if i was looking now , it would be this, the model 3 highland or the refresh Y for the bigger boot, i wonder will BYD make a model y competitor? im sure it will be here soon enough
Byd model y competitor is already on sale in China.
Can the simcard be switch to another? I have unlimited data and love to use that insted.
Android Auto is wireless OK Derek, but Apple CarPlay is wired only 👍

Thanks for your informative review Derek. Wondered if you could shed a little more light on the drivers seat and this thing of it moving back to give you more room to exit / enter. Can that be stopped? Had a Seal for a demo and I couldn’t see how to prevent it from potentially crushing the passengers feet. Is there a setting? Also can you stipulate a charging percentage to charge the car up to? I couldn’t find a way to do that. In fact to make matters worse I’d got the car set to charge from 12.30am to 4.30am and deselected charge to 100% and it still charged to full.
Coming from a tesla model S here so I’m used to being able to effectively schedule charging and / or set to a charge percentage. Loved the Seal though - a nice balance of model S and model 3 features. Just need better ways to get to some of the menu options and being able to silence ADAS better.
I am getting mine in a week here in Greece......Indigo grey Blue interior....AWD Would you think that the blue interior wich i will get mine will be more prone to dust etc? Can you clean it easily?

53L I think. It's small enough but it'll fit a day pack alright.

The Seal dies gave a 50l Frunk/Front.
The nio is the best ev with battery swap station no wait 3 hours to charge and no worry about the battery
How come its consumption is much bigger than model 3?

Agree with you about the sort of tribalism that pops up in the EV community. There are only so many shapes you can make a car that's are aerodynamic, so of course a lot of the newer cars are starting to look the same. Keep the great videos coming.
I'm amused how this Seal looks most comparable to the old Renault Fluence ZE, without the massively awkward drop out battery hump

Here is one practical question. Why should you buy a car with lackluster software, terrible efficiency and nothing to make it future proof at all over a Tesla.
Comfort, stalks, buttons, design, 360 camera, panoramic roof that handles heat better? Etc Tesla isnt better at everything.
@@UgglemannenFTW Tesla is way better at everything that matters. In a computer on wheels what matters is the software and the software in a BYD is really bad.

You make infotainment a bigger problem than it is.
And way better at everything that matters so basicly infotainment? So you care nothing about comfort or it actually being a car? If you want to fiddle around with a tablet a Ipad is better at that.
@@UgglemannenFTW I think you have no clue what you are talking about and that you are stuck in the past. The Software defines everything not just infotainment. It defines safety and efficiency. The bms decides how efficient a battery is and the BYD software is so bad that they get worse outcomes from the same battery. Both the Seal and the model Y standard have the same BYD LFP battery. But the Tesla charges at 170kW while BYD don't dare to go above 150kW. Because they are just bad at software. Also they don't even try to solve FSD beacause the CEO thinks it's impossible. And you clearly don't need stalks even in roundabouts. It's all muscle memory. But you seem to be a loser who rejects all change and therefore is getting nowhere in life.
