- On August 25, 2018, Tweetsie Railroad celebrated the 75th birthday of former White Pass & Yukon (US Army) MacArthur no. 190 during their annual Railroad Heritage Weekend. While engine 12 was sadly unable to operate during the weekend due to a crack in the firebox, this was more than made up for by 190's throwback appearance: a silver smokebox and "YUKON QUEEN" and totem poles on the tender. This look was inspired by the engine's paint scheme when it first arrived at the park in 1960, sans the diamond stack and black paint. Those guests who attended the morning photo shoot were treated to multiple spectacular runbys at both the trestle and the outpost, before 190 returned to regular Wild West Train duties for the remainder of the weekend. Due to 12's unfortunate absence 190 was unable to pull coach 5 as planned, so it sat on display in front of the shop. Tweetsie put on a great event as always despite the setbacks, and I can't wait for Railroad Heritage Weekend 2019!
I love the new look to 190
I think we were all mesmerized that weekend by that smoke box.
Happy birthday 190!!!!
That wheel slip at 7:30 is awesome. Great job as always!
She looked like a true Southern passenger engine.
its so Haunting.. sends chills !!
Fantastic work as usual!
Thanks!
Best whistle I’ve ever heard
I love 190 train
I love that Crosby 6 inch 3 chime. She should keep that also forever and always. (Another favorite whistle)
I love tweetsie railroad #190.
Great job my friend!
Thanks!
Happy Birthday Yukon Queen 190

This might be the best video of tweetsie ever
Thank you!
Nice Great Video Man
Thank you!
SmokyMtnSteam if you reply to this what camera did you use for the filming
I shoot with a Sony FDR-AX53
Good morning
190 looks so much better with the silver. It reminds me of her sister 192. Also, is that a new whistle or is it just the audio? EDIT: it is a new whistle but it sounds identical to Dollywood Crosby that usually runs on 70
Yes, it's one of the engineers 6inch 3 chime southern crosby.
Who doesn't love to snatch a moment on the footplate?
You going to Railfest this year? I'll be there on Sunday, with a classic engineer's hat on with the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum's logo on it, wearing a shirt with Southern 4501 painted in the Crescent paint scheme, and carrying a blue and black tote bag over the shoulder with the CSX logo on the side of it.
they could have put coach 5 on the back.
Will there be tweetsie christmas this year if they don't finish #12 in time for christmas? The reason why I am asking is because #12 ran it last year.
12 is already running again, the problem only took a few days to fix.
A lot of peopel dont know this but when Tweetsie frist started Christmas they also got lights to fit 190 just in case 12 had any issues. Last year 190 was ready to go in case 12 had problams i would hopefully say but not sure if thst year 190 could do Christmas im pretty sure she might though.
Does anyone know how they gave 190 a silver smoke box?
They painted it the night before that day
It was to replicate, minus the diamond stack, the very first livery the 190 wore during its first years at Tweetsie.
Nice video! Hope to get down there for one of these Heritage Weekends! THEY LOOK AWESOME! Also was 190's face painted white because she was an ex Southern Railway Locomotive?
No, she’s a narrow gauge. She was never southern. She was a white pass and Yukon. The silver look and lettering was her original look when she first started running at Tweetsie
@@nickharding7640 oh ok. That's cool!
Yep she's a Yankee.
GT Rail Fan Productions she's from white pass
That's why she's called the Yukon queen. She's 192 from dollywood's sister.
How do you get so many shots of the same run?
They backed the train up and ran it past the cameras multiple times for us
@@SmokyMtnSteam thanks
She's 80 now.
Youkon queen 190
What camera do you use?
I currently use a Sony FDR-AX53 but am looking at replacing it soon.
What camera is this?
Sony FDR-AX53
What chime of whistle is she wearing?
Crosby 6 inch 3 chime
What tripod was this?
I believe I was using a Magnus VT-400 at the time
@@SmokyMtnSteam Is that a good tripod to invest in?
@@TrainTableRailroad It's pretty good for a low price and served me well for many years.
