Thank you dereck, We won't tell you enough, but thank you again for all the interest you bring to Mylène! indeed this is my favorite version with also that of 2019, however different with dry! and then her outfit in 2019, one of my favorites ! She sang it in 1996, 1999, 2009, 2006, 2019, the one I like the least is the one from 1999 ....

Mylène is the queen !!! This 1996 show is wonderful. The costumes are by Paco Rabanne and one of the dancers Dona de Lory is also a backing vocalist for Madonna. One day I hope we will have an MF / Madonna duo. Please, watch the 1996 live video '' Que mon cœur lâche '' very sexy too.

Definetly her best concert (96 Bercy), she looked great, and for me the "Rever" performance in that concert was her best moment ever.

Perfect version ! merci beaucoup. Donna de Lory, one the to historical 90's back-vocalist dancer for Madonna, worked for Mylene during anamophosée period and was on stage with her, you can easily recognize her ;)
There are around 5 very good official "REMIXES" version, most in rock style as Ramon Zenker's remixes, and a deep and cool vibe long mix entitled "Wandering mix", which was chosen and adapted for this stage in 1996.
Btw the "Wandering mix" was not qualified as a "techno remix", officially in addition...

Hi Dereck! Thanks for your react on Mylène Farmer with "California" Live A Bercy. This concert for me is the best in the 90's. The costumes you see were created by the couturier Paco Rabanne (a little controversial 3 years later because of the story of the eclipse and Nostradamus ^^) because at the time the color silver gray was "fashion".
Besides, Mylène used precisely this color for the Live A Bercy support released a year later in 1997: cassette, CD's, VHS and DVD much later. I am also thinking of the famous Writing Box (very popular with collectors with the pen, stamps, envelopes, notepad, calendar, etc.). The edges of the supports were the same color and for Limited Editions it was "glitter" like "disco" or "hologram" too.
California was released on March 26, 1996. It is also the third single from their fourth studio album Anamorphosée.
The song was the most broadcast title on radio in the spring of 1996. The music video is directed by Abel Ferrara.
The version you hear at the beginning is the remix of the song called the Wandering Mix, remixed by Laurent Boutonnat and Bertrand Châtenet.
I also like the versions of Ramon Zenker (Radio Remix and Extended Remix).
As you say it is sure for you to know the original version by seeing it in VIDEOCLIP and then doing it LIVE to better understand the process and to form your own opinion! But go make them understand! One year that I say it and that I am relentless!
If I had an American correspondent and I would like to introduce him/her to Mylène, first I would show him/her her music videos and of course (wich are MASTERPIECES) make him/her listen to the audio songs (especially the "clips" and singles versions, the majority are very different in 80's and 90's, also in 2000's) then afterwards LIVE of course! I find their way very selfish!
On the other hand, I agree with THEM in the sense that a song for example by Mylène isn't released in CLIP (yes that happens), it is mainly the Intros depending on the case ("Vertige" for example for this Tour which is a song from the 1995 album Anamorphosée: apart from you wanting to listen to the audio before then the "live" version, why not Mylène's "audio sessions", you never did), "Paradis Inanimé" (2009) for the No.5 On Tour, taken from "Point De Suture" album (2008) or as a song in 2019 chosen as single "live" to represent LIVE 2019 entitled "M'Effondre" (in audio but which dated from 2010 composed by MOBY, taen from the album "Bleu Noir", you did very few songs from this album apart from "Oui ... Mais Non" composed by Redone).

As I told you several times Dereck, you can find links on the other site starting with Daily if you are afraid of being "blocked"! The majority of the links can be clips posted by registered users on TV provided of course that they are of good quality but it happens or on the official link (yes there is also Mylène there but not all the clips ).
