I've always dumped the stock mags that came with any 1911 and immediately acquired Wilson Combat 8rnd mags. Never had any issues with feeding with them.

I love the trp operator 1911 it is one sweet shooter maybe 2500 rounds and only one problem and I kind of think it was my fault not the guns . I love the pistol but not a fan of Springfield

I CCW a Springfield TRP Operator 5”10mm with a Viridian X5L Gen 3 light/green laser/camera combo with a Trijicon RMR in an IWB holster loaded with either Federal HST or Underwood Xtreme Penetrators in a Wilson Combat 9 round magazine with 4 backup Wilson mags. Absolutely love this pistol and carry it everyday and would never give it up for anything.
I have had mine since 2014. I have never shot it. I open the case periodically to take it to the range. But I can’t get myself to dirty the thing. So I close the case back up. I have plenty of other firearms to shoot. Bought a Tool-less guide rod from Dawson Precision that I have yet to install. And some idiot scratch protectors that I have also yet to use. So there my .45 sits, in the safe. Maybe someday I will shoot this beauty.
Love the TRP!! By the way, did you buy it used? They don’t come with a hard case as well as the mag carrier and plastic holster. The newer ones come in a Springfield Armory range bag. Just wondering...
Just picked up one used with a low round count for $1275... I couldn’t pass it up...sold my Kimber to help pay for it 😁... now I feel I have one of the best production 1911s on the market

I have the same 1911 and I love it. its my favorite gun to shoot. For me this is a range only gun, and its perfect for that. It can also be a great home defense gun. I wouldn't use the holster or magazine carriers it comes with though. They are kind of silly to include with this gun. Why protect your gun with a $10 holster? The way you carry is kind of personal, so find a good holster that fits your carry preference. if you plan to carry this, carry it locked and loaded. but change the safety to not be ambidextrous. You don't want a .45 pointing at your leg with the safety unintentionally clicked off, do you? I am a fan of Chris Kyle , he wrote about this gun in his book, although the exact variant he had is unclear. It did inspire me to look at this gun and I liked it, glad i bought one.

I saw hammer follow when u dropped the slide. I’ve seen a lot of premium Springfield’s on CZcams with hammer follow. Including Larry vickers showing off his person model.
@@kilo1official its happening because there is incorrect hammer hook to sear nose engagement. Get that gun checked by a gunsmith. If it get worse you'll have a full auto pistol
If you grab a Dawson tool less guide rod, it solves your take down problems. It’s my duty gun. I’ve shot Glock for ever. I’m more accurate with this baby. You don’t need 15 rounds if you make the 1st one count.

It wouldn’t be a bushing barrel, bushing provides the clearance for the barrel to tilt as the gun recoils. The rifle has a free float pencil style barrel.

I’ve never had a problem with the stock ones. WC is great and I use their stuff but you’re throwing money away ditching the stock mags.

Is the slide cut for a bushing if someone wanted to change the barrel and recoil system to a G.I. style later on?
