How to change impeller Honda 9.9

Quick tutorial on how to replace a impeller on a Honda 9.9. Most outboards are very similar and this will apply to most outboards. This motor is for a O'day 26 I just purchased and you can expect to see more videos about me doing a refit on it. Thanks, hopefully this helps you

OK I am doing mine tomorrow!! When I started the motor there was water coming out but it was really weak. So My motor is an mid ninety's model and I am sure this will be good. Man you sure have a great camera man and production manager. Very Cool! Thank You

I recently purchased a Honda 2006 9.9 with a 7" extension and I want to remove the extension. Plus while I'm doing this I also want to replace the water pump. Too

So did you use the new one with the fins that are straight or did find a new one where the fins are curved. I have the same motor but can't find the one with the curved fins my shop manual shows the curved one like the one in your left hand, I can find then on Ebay but not the curved ones

New one! Bent fins are a no go!

@@Jason114752 dont they all bend once in the housing ?? mine were bent on the install. Maybe your original one had them bent the wrong way ? They should be curved fyi.

@@oneeyedrone4293 the fins come straight when brand new for every impeller I’ve changed. A sign of wear is that they’re curved. I have never seen a new curved impeller, but who knows. Thanks for watching, have a nice day 👍🏻

@@Jason114752 ok i get it, I meant that your new one also became curved once installed.
So if someone opens it now, it will be curved as well.
Mine were literally broken into pieces. Not just curved.

I bought the impeller from Amazon. I used the serial number to find the part number on a Honda website. I do not remember what that number was. Good luck 🍀
