WP 165 Lives! Operations at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum

  • On July 2, I headed over to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA. While I was able to see a lot of cool equipment, the highlight was restored Western Pacific steam locomotive 165, an 0-6-0, making its first public runs. (I'm told the engine made private runs for a convention back in April). The train consisted of four cabooses making trips around the museum's balloon loop. This is a compilation of video made throughout the morning on several runs. Apologies for the shakiness...I should probably invest in a decent tripod.

      Indeed! I got to ride her once for the pumpkin patch train in 2022. This is embarrassing but it was the first locomotive i ever saw in person

      @@futfhifak4930 Well, good for you! I hope you will get to see more locomotives in person, especially steam locomotives, because they are much more interesting and exciting to watch, at least in my opinion. . .
