I had the privilege of meeting Johnny Farnham at Brisbane Airport in 2000. I was in the Army, in uniform on my way Overseas. I went over to just say G'day and shake his hand (Very nervously I might add!). Instead of me ranting about how much I adored growing up with his music, he stopped & spent 5min telling me HE was honored to meet ME? and proceeded to wish me luck & generally made it about myself & what me & fellow Soldiers were doing! What a class act, true blue Ozzie Legend!

I can understand how you felt David - he would have been genuine with his respect for you - he's always been a nice guy - I had a photo taken with him at the Warana parade in 1969 after he won King of Pop when he was really young- at the time I was the most recent 'Belle of Ball' Brisbane City Council recipient - the previous 4 years recipients were there too but I got to cuddle in next to him for the photo shoot 😂- he was such a shy guy back then - very humble- still have the photo and my 'Belle' sash - great memories 👍🏿

In these modern days of Auto-tune and Image driven Musicians we'll never see or hear the likes of him again..... Luckily, his Music will live on in the hearts of all true Blue Australians. I also met John Farnham at an airport...Sydney this time. I was coming out of a toilet and he was running in to be able to relieve himself AND make the flight call. I opened the door and bowled him over. He got up and apologized. He was on his way to a Carols by Candlelight (early 70's). I saw him on the flight, and apologized back, and he kicked his manager out of his seat, sent him to my seat, and we chatted for an hour or so. A genuine down-to-earth legend.

Jimmy Barnes was a previous bad boy of Aussie Rock in a band called Cold Chisel. They are one fanfreakingtastic band! The guy playing the guitar is Johnny Diesel ( real name Mark Lazot) who also had a band called Johnny Diesel and the injectors and is Jimmy's brother in law. John was the good boy of Aussie music also. I have had the pleasure of being around both John and Jimmy and they are truly amazing men with so much knowledge to share. It will be a dark day in Australia if we ever lose.any of these artists.

John Farnham, in his 70’s, STILL blows. His voice is genuinely otherworldly, and he is absolute God Tier of Aussie music. Jimmy Barnes is a legend too, but there’s truly no one, befor or since, like Farnsey. Shout out to baby Diesel on the guitar and harmonies too, brb in my early teen musician girl feelings 😝

John Farnham (the blonde dude) is Australia's best ever pop singer, lauded by the likes of Celine Dion, Tom Jones, Quincy Jones and Freddie Mercury. He's been performing since the 1960s and is still singing in his 70s! Superb voice with outstanding vocal range. Jimmy Barnes has a different - more rock - voice but such an icon in Aussie music. Not quite as successful as John, but still wildly loved by Aussies with iconic hits. When these two got together on this, it was a superb mix of their voices but you can see not only their talent but their passion and joy for music. This was live too. What you heard is what they do. Very proud of our Aussie boys (even though they were both born in the UK and moved to Australia as young children with very different backgrounds).

Music is a rich vein in Australia, but Covid-19 has decimated the industry and our government is indifferent at best. The likes of Farnsey and Barnsey are obviously legends in Australia and probably financially stable by now (Aussie music industry is measured in $1000's, not $1,000,000's) but right now almost nobody is working outside their home studio. $0.02
