Thank you so much! That's got to be it, its the right height for a faerie! The views are awesome up there and we're only a mile away from that hill! :D All best, Craig & Nicole!
What a gorgeous Country you live in! Steeped in history, fables, and wee folk. I love to be taken on your journey's. Nicole your jewelry making takes my breath away! Thank you so much for your videos.

While I was watching you going up the hills and walking between trees, I found myself singing: "Piping Robin, piping so, Tell the rough winds not to blow Any more through field and glen; Call the bluebirds home again, Tell the little flowers to grow." Thanks for sharing and happy anniversary. 🤗
Happy Anniversary! Thanks for inviting us along to celebrate the day with you on that steep trek. What gorgeous views. Loved the sound of the wind in the trees -- like Nicole mentioned, it did sound like the waves on the beach. What a beautiful place.
So glad you enjoyed it - its so nice up there and its so close to where we live - we're very fortunate, and so privileged to be able to share a little of our surroundings! :D Always loved the sound in wind in the trees, it can be so soothing. Thank you so much! xo

Happy wedding anniversary ! Thank you for sharing it with us ! Another lovely video ! I received my necklace a few days ago and am so pleased with it !
Hello. Its always a pleasure to go with you on the walk...for new adventure, to see a lot, to have history and Geografie...thank you for sharing...🥰🥰🎄🌲💖💖👍👍
Thank you so much for joining us on our wee wanders! We are so lucky to live beside such amazing places to share, and so very glad you enjoyed it! :D xo
First off... Happy Anniversary 🎉🎆🎇🎊👏🏻👏🏻🍾🥂!!! My kitty Dante and I are wishing you both many, many more years of love and blessings 🤗. I REALLY like the doo'cot. It looks like a tiny medieval castle. 🤔 I think I might like one for my very own...kind of a "tiny house" castle. Preferably with running water and indoor plumbing 👍🏻👍🏻😉. I could actually tell the incline and decline pitch of the hill(heck it was almost like a mountain⛰️!!) while you two were hiking🧗🏻♂️. And the sound of the wind thru the trees was just so soothing and beautiful. So cool to see some pictures of your lovely and quaint town of Cupar👍🏻. I just love how Europe respects and preserves it's history instead of bulldozing everything, and going modern( 👍🏻Trust of Scotland)🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Once again, BRAVO and standing ovation 👏🏻 for another mesmerizing adventure(and beautiful editing, Craig😉😁). So much fascinating information on The House of Tarvit and the market cross. Nicole... you've proven once again your amazing artistic eye with those "frosty" yet delicate bracelets 🥰. Definitely fit for a ❄️Snow Queen❄️ to wear. Love and blessings for continuing health and safety 😊🤗🤭😘.
Thank you so much! :D Dante is such a cute name for a wee kitty! :D Big hugs to you both! It was, for a time, the style to make them like wee castles! The accommodation would be compact, but I'm sure I've lived in smaller places! With the mod-cons installed, and maybe a wee extension, it would be such a lovely wee house! I'm glad the steepness came across, if only because it helped explain all the panting!! haha! It is awesome up there - nothing like having the wind blow way the cobwebs! Scotland is pretty good at protecting its environments, we're grateful for that! So glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for your very kind words! :D Lots of love and blessing from Scotland! :D xo
I love the way you have caught the low light as we come to mid winter (my mid summer in NZ) - everything is glowing as it is underlit. Such an interesting video. Thank you.
Very kind, thank you so much! Its a wonderful time of year here with the way the light sets everything off so beautifully! :D I love the early (I guess its only early for folks in this part of the world) dusk that you get in NZ, just lovely! :D So glad you enjoyed the video!
Happy Anniversary to you both. The hills are alive with the Fae folk who are inclined to bless you on this occasion.🥰 the lovely music carried on the wind all these miles across the Atlantic where my forefathers set out generations ago. So nice to step back with you both.
Craig what can I say spectacularly breathtaking views of the Kingdom of Fife and our old own capital of Fife, Nicole and yourself are a pair of lifes genuine partnerships that the stars align to put you together. You bring joy to everyone with your beautiful storytelling and your camera work, and how Nicole brings her finds alive with her little ideas and her descriptions of how a piece would look on a bracelet or necklace! Many congratulations to you both on your wedding 💒 anniversary ❤ May you have many more happy and wonderful years together love and hugs to you both Alex x x
I think we timed it perfectly - the sun didn't make the dramatic exit we hoped for but the build up was really something to see! So nice! It is amazing to think how that wee toon was once such an important location! And even until fairly recently too! That's so kind.. we have been so lucky to be able to do this and find something where our interests meet in a complimentary way. Thank you so much for such really kind, amazingly encouraging words and for all the support you give us! Hope all is very well with you and yours, lots of love and big hugs from just up the road! :D xo
Happy “ ♥️Fall in love again♥️” day!! Yes Craig, we could see how steep that hill is!! Glorious views, rich history in Cupar all put together in one of your great videos. Watching Nicole craft her bracelet is so relaxing. ♥️
Very kind, thank you so much! :D I'm glad the steepness of the hill came across - its so dramatic looking when walking on the hill! So glad you enjoyed the video and it brought some relaxation! :D
Happy Anniversary to you both, May the coming years be filled with good health, wonderful days and peaceful times. You both are a truly lovely couple and I wish you the best always. Scotland is so picturesque, thank you to you both for sharing your walk with us all. Craig, amazing history lesson and Nicole love your childlike joy when walking through the leaves and how you keep treasures from your adventures. I do the same, I'm always nurturing my inner child and finding the beauty in the smallest of things just like you do. Kindest regards Dena.x
Thank you so much! We could not ask for more than health, happiness and comfort! I think if you can keep the inner child happy, and continue to find wonder in the world, you're doing very well! I think you're right, its the small things that are so important! So glad you enjoyed this wee adventure! Stay safe and well, wishing you health, happiness and comfort! :D xo
This was very nostalgic. I haven’t seen the owl carving since I was 8 years old. Used to come here 15 years ago with my foster carer ♥️ Thank you for uploading, it has inspired me to go back after lockdown ♥️
Thanks so much Mallory! How amazing that the owl has been there such a long time already :) We love walking around at the hill of Tarvit ! Glad we could inspire you to take a trip along when you can ...
What a lovely anniversary hike. I'm glad neither of you blew away! That jump ring opener and closer looks really handy. I've never seen one before. I'll have to be on the lookout for one next time I decide to make some jewelry.
Thank you so much! It was pretty windy, one of those days that blasts through you and clears out the cobwebs! :D So glad you now know about the jump ring opener - its he handiest thing ever! We shoudl have a link to them in the description, but you can find them easily with a search for "jump ring opener" and they are nice and cheap too! :D
Great video! It felt like we were there with you that entire hike, though I know we missed out on the workout and runny noses part. Beautiful scenery, reminds me of where I grew up in western Oregon, USA. Except we didn't have castles and grand houses like this. Happy Anniversary and you guys are so adorable together :) "Not all who wander are lost"
Thank you so much - yes, its great to be able to bring you along on our wee adventures! So glad you get the sense of the pace, and without that runny nose - haha! I must give Oregon a look! So glad you enjoyed the wee trip, :D "Not all who wander are lost" - I like that! :D
I missed this video when it came out, so Happy belated Anniversary to you both. Today I was looking for some company while working from home - stuffing envelopes! The music, wind & gorgeous video were the perfect accompaniment. Then I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee while watching Nicole make jewelry - Ah, the advantages of our new way of life! So, glad that you are here to visit with on a regular basis. Take care & stay well.
Thank you so much! Glad we were able to keep you company and share some of the sights and sounds of the Hall of Tarvit - what a windy day that was!! :D So important to see the silver linings - working from home certainly has its advantages, as you say! :D Stay safe and well! Best wishes xo
I love Schehallion! I've spent a lot of time around Rannoch, its one of those places that just brings a kind of peace! Thank you for those suggestions - lots to do, we'll definitely give them a look! :D
Happiest Belated Anniversary wishes, hope you had a lovely day. Thanks so much for the truly stunning video your work just gets better and better all the time, it's obvious you enjoy what you do and it shines right through in your videos. Best Regards
Thank you so much! We had a lovely, quiet, day, with good food and our own company, which was just grand! :D That's very kind, thank you... We always try to do the best we can - things might get a little better soon, we just got something we hope will improve video quality... Fingers crossed! :D Thank you, stay safe and well! xo
Very cool - Elmwood is a few minutes walk from our house! :D Hill of Tarvit is such a lovely spot for a stroll - its covered in snow today and looks beautiful. :D Thank you so much! xo
Happy Anniversary and many more to come. Craig your filming is spectacular, well done. Stunning scenery and beautiful countryside. Love your bracelet, what great memories. Thank you for sharing your awesome video with us. Much love and blessings to you and your family and have a very merry Christmas, stay safe and well 🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰🥰👏👏👏👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️🍾🍾🥂🥂🥂

Happy Anniversary to you both I hope you had a wonderful day. The views were breathtaking that looked like a scary uphill walk. the bracelets are very pretty. Thanks for the video and have a good week.
Many congratulations on your wedding 💞 anniversary you are a really lovely couple 💟, great video with such pretty views , faires definitely out and about in that place 🍀, interesting history aswell, love that cute braclet don't blame you keeping one yourself 😉, take care xx
Very kind, thank you so much! xo The views up there really are fantastic! We hope to get a wander up that hill on a sunnier day... There is another faerie fort nearby, we will have to investigate that one! :D Thank you so much! Stay safe and well! :D
love to see your walk.....thankyou for this....I miss walking in the beech forests in the leaves. When the travel bans are lifted...have you ever done the walks up to Kinoul Hill to the tower ? one of my favourite walks.....hope to get back to Scotland next year to see my family. Best wished from Victoria, British Columbia!
So glad you enjoyed the walk - the views are glorious... I've just looked up Kinoul - thank you! It looks amazing, it may be a wee while before we can get along, but we have to get along there! Fingers crossed we are in the last stretch of this - hope its not long before you can get back to be with family. Thank you so much! :D
Indeed, how many eggs would you need for an egg roll?! Dookit - good to know! I don't know of any big demand for the eggs these days, though pigeon was/is a fancy fowl for foodies! I think the squabs were also on the menu back then, though the whole dookit practice seems to have ended after farmers got sick of the resident pigeons at the estate filling up on the seeds they were sowing. We've only seen that dookit open once - its looked after by the National Trust and, unlike many others around, ts in pretty good repair, though its blocked off to pigeons now. Oh We pop into a different doo'cot in a few weeks! Thank you so much! :D
A Docoot how interesting, here in the states some folks see the pigeons as a pest. We have a lot of large hawks that we can see on power poles and fence post as we drive down the highway
Pigeons are no longer kept in the Doo'cots - somehow their eggs are not considered worth farming at this point in time... We have smaller kestrels and little hawks here, but not very large ones ...
Oh! Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed the video! Historically, the Wemyss' were very important in the area and the name features quite regularly in our history sections. Best wishes. :D
I want to wake up in the mornin' where the Rhododendrons grow, Where the sun comes a peepin' into where I'm a sleepin' And the songbird says hello. I want to wander through the wildwood, where the fragrant breezes blow. And drift back to the mountains where the Rhododendrons grow. When the winds blow away your voices, I turn on closed captioning and sometimes with no wind, since my American ear doesn't always catch what your saying:)😢 Your village is so lovely, does it sleep in a blanket of snow at wintertime? Cheers, Rik Spector
I never knew about the Rhododendron song! :D Thank you! So sorry about the wind noise - we are still working on a better way to deal with it... The close captioning can be a little random. That's such a lovely poetic image... When the snow falls it does blanket the village and surrounding hills - its very beautiful. We had a light covering of snow last week... it melted fast and the sun is out! Scotland has some very odd weather... Its set to get cold next week... we may have that blanket to rest under then! :D Thank you so much!
@@scottishmudlarking I learned that song at 4-H(camp for farm based children) when I was little ,the place we stayed was in the Appalachian Mountains of Northwest New Jersey. lots of Rhododendrons and Mountain Laurel. There's a song, which I have performed with our local Concert band called "In the Bleak MId Winter",,, quite lovely and lest we forget, "If Winter Comes, Can Spring be Far Behind?" Cross country skiing and snow mobiles...perhaps? Cheers, Rik
I know! Sadly, I had to take that photo from an online source as the house is currently closed, I have my suppositions that it was not well labeled... I must revisit when it opens again! Thank you so much! :D
I used to live in a place in central Wisconsin USA, that (in summer) looked much like the scenery in this video (without the old buildings). By December it was buried under several feet of snow. Lots of wildlife there though. I stayed there a year, but then had to move back to civilization. Slides show of one property near where I used to live, www.landandfarm.com/property/93_Acres_Vernon_County-10367170/ (Not for sale)
Wow! What an amazing place! I imagine living there would bring a number of challenges - I hope that was year to remember very fondly... It looks incredible - so much space! :D Thank you so much for sharing that! :D
Thank you so much! Yes, the doo'cot was built to attract pigeons to nest and lay... We have a video coming out in a few weeks where you can see what a doo'cot looks like inside. The estate would collect eggs and squabs (young pigeons) to eat... These buildings often caused trouble with farmers whose seeds were eaten by the resident pigeons! :D
Thank you so much! Both dovecote and doo'cot mean the same thing; one is derived from old English (I think the 'e' is dropped, in the same way that olde, is pronounced old) and the other old Scots, so both the same thing, yes! :D So glad you enjoyed it, thank you! :D xo
The thing you climbed over to get into the field.. I can’t remember, is it called a style? The last time I came here 15 years ago I’m sure it was very different and didn’t have a ramp leading down. It was just levels of wood like steps. I could be wrong though x
Yes it is indeed a style - like a little ladder and platform. It was our first time up that part of the Hill of Tarvit ( or Wemyss !) and I am sure the trees have grown quite a bit since you were here!! ??? Thanks so much Mallory :)
Just beautiful, the views and the bracelets! ♥️
Thank you so much! Very kind! :D xo
Happy Anniversary! That gate must have been made for the fairies. Lovely adventure video as always, gorgeous views from the top. Andy and Josie 😀

Lovely video. Happy anniversary 🎉.
Thank you so much, that's very kind! :D
I love where you live, reminds me of the small towns in Oregon
Aww thanks! We live in the hills but only 15 minutes away from the coast :) We must visit Oregon at some point!!
@@scottishmudlarking You will not be disappointed. Now Portland is a huge city so not sure that would be to your liking
Another great video; shame the dookit (west of Scotland spelling) wasn't open! But actually, does anybody anywhere eat pigeon eggs these days??
The totem with the owl on one side and the face on the other is interesting
It is isn't it!! :) Very cute owl carving we thought ...
@@scottishmudlarking I agree, sure there was some meaning to the creator
A Docoot how interesting, here in the states some folks see the pigeons as a pest. We have a lot of large hawks that we can see on power poles and fence post as we drive down the highway
Pigeons are no longer kept in the Doo'cots - somehow their eggs are not considered worth farming at this point in time... We have smaller kestrels and little hawks here, but not very large ones ...
@@scottishmudlarking We have the hovering hawk, red tails and larger ones. I was blessed a few years back to see bald eagles, what a joy
Absolutely stunning view 💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕HAPPY 12 ANNIVERSARY, CHEERS TO MANY MORE 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
That's really lovely, thank you so much! :D xo
Wishing you a very healthy and happy 2021! :D
I sent a link to my Brother in Law a Wemyss living in Melbourne Australia. Interesting thank you
Oh! Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed the video! Historically, the Wemyss' were very important in the area and the name features quite regularly in our history sections. Best wishes. :D
Belated Happy 12th Wedding Anniversary Craig & Nicole 🥂xx
Thank you so much! That's very kind! Hope all is well! Stay safe and well. :D xo
@@scottishmudlarking all good thanks just putting together our first big haul mudlarking video - very excited and nervous at the same time xx
You have a beautiful country
We are so lucky to live where we do... So much beauty around us! :D Thank you so much!
I want to wake up in the mornin' where the Rhododendrons grow,
Where the sun comes a peepin' into where I'm a sleepin'
And the songbird says hello.
I want to wander through the wildwood, where the fragrant breezes blow.
And drift back to the mountains where the Rhododendrons grow.
When the winds blow away your voices,
I turn on closed captioning and
sometimes with no wind, since my American ear doesn't always catch what your saying:)😢
Your village is so lovely, does it sleep in a blanket of snow at wintertime?
Cheers,
Rik Spector
I never knew about the Rhododendron song! :D Thank you!
So sorry about the wind noise - we are still working on a better way to deal with it... The close captioning can be a little random.
That's such a lovely poetic image... When the snow falls it does blanket the village and surrounding hills - its very beautiful. We had a light covering of snow last week... it melted fast and the sun is out! Scotland has some very odd weather... Its set to get cold next week... we may have that blanket to rest under then! :D
Thank you so much!
@@scottishmudlarking I learned that song at 4-H(camp for farm based children) when I was little ,the place we stayed was in the Appalachian Mountains of Northwest New Jersey. lots of Rhododendrons and Mountain Laurel.
There's a song, which I have performed with our local Concert band called "In the Bleak MId Winter",,, quite lovely and lest we forget, "If Winter Comes, Can Spring be Far Behind?"
Cross country skiing and snow mobiles...perhaps?
Cheers,
Rik
That library had not a book in sight. Can it still be called a library?
Thank you so much for sharing that! :D
Wonderful history of the tower for pigeons...so the eggs was for human consumption. At first I thought it was a pigeon house
:D
Thanks for another great video!!! Just a thought.... Is doocot not a shorter version of dovecote??? Lovely walk for sure x
Ah, Happy Anniversary
Thanks ever so much :)
That Tower is a leprechaun Tower and the gate is for leprechauns to lock 😆
haha! Yes! its perfectly sized! What with the faeries up the hill, that must be it! :D
Thank you so much! :D
Are the songs being played on the piano also Mr Craig's?
It's the guitar songs - it usually says in the description if copyright music is used :)
He is so very talented, thank you Mr Craig for sharing your music with us
Happy Anniversary
Thank you so much :D xo
