People assume that car companies know their competition's every move, as if there was some sort of "Mission Impossible" crew sent in on weekends to monitor R&D progress. While some less-than-ethical information exchange goes on, usually a car manufacturer like Honda finds out what the competition's latest widget looks when we do. Need proof? Look at the 2011, 2012, 2013 and now the 2014 Honda Civic. The 9th generation Civic was intended to début as a 2011, but the financial implosion caused Honda to go back and re-work their compact car as a 2012 to keep prices low. In the perpetual game of auto-leapfrog, Honda miscalculated the direction Ford, Hyundai, Kia (and perhaps even Nissan) were headed. The result was bashed by Consumer Reports and raked across the coals by most of the press. Did buyers care? Apparently not. The 2012 Civic was purchased in impressive quantities by real-people. Honda could have found solace in their sales, but instead they did something unusual: they re-re-redesigned the Civic for 2013 followed by a light refresh yet again for 2014.
The 2013 Civic isn't just a second-year options package shake-up, and it isn't even a mid-cycle color and trim shuffle. The changes after only a year on the market land somewhere between a refresh and and a redesign-on-the-same-platform. How can I call it a redesign? Well, if Lexus can call the "new" LS a new car... But I digress.
The 2013 re-tune focused on a visual re-tweak of the car's front and rear end and a slew of interior refinement changes and upgrades. Because of the time constraints many of these changes didn't make it to the Civic Coupé in time for the 2013 model year so for 2014 the Coupe gets the same interior and a slightly re-worked exterior. The big news for 2014 however is Honda's all-new 7-inch touchscreen HondaLink infotainment system. The new smartphone integrated system runs a version of Honda's familiar software adapted to a single screen interface with touch and slide gesture commands. While you can opt for standard navigation in the EX-L with Navigation model, the EX and EX-L trims integrate Honda's new iPhone integrated nav option which costs just $65 (plus a cable) and reminds me of GM's Bringo integrated navigation system. (In a good way.) I have long thought that this type of solution is the way to go and Honda has found a way to make it work even without Apple's CarPlay software interface being finalized. Sadly Android owners will have to wait a while before a similar solution is available for them.

I been driving Civic 2015 EX for almost 4 years now with no issues n 39 miles per gallon on highway. I don’t push it too hard going uphills...always follow the speed limit..and so far it’s been a great car
It’s now 2023. I purchased my Honda Civic EX new in 2015 & I now have 155,000 miles on it. I’ve had ZERO mechanical failures on this car. I change the oil every 5,000 miles & the CVT transmission fluid every 30,000 miles. The only other things I’ve done are brakes & tires & the occasional air filter. Best car I’ve ever owned.
My last car was a 2000 Honda Civic EX coupe and I just bought a 2015 Civic EX sedan last week - so far very happy with the decision. :)
Hi Alex
I think the reason why the Honda CVT is able to change ratios quicker than other CVTs is Honda included a torque converter in their CVT. So when you floor it, the torque converter slips allowing the engine to rev quickly while the CVT ratios are changing in the background. Once the CVT ratio catches up, the torque converter locks for increased efficiency.
Honda discussed the inclusion of the torque converter in their CVT when they released the Accord stating that it sacrificed efficiency but gave it a better feel.
Just night one with 36000 miles. Love it.
This is by far the most comprehensive and professional review I've come across. Well done.
An article in Car and Driver a few days ago mentioned that several of their test drivers ended up with backaches from driving the Civic. I then did some research and found that there have been many complaints of this nature starting with the 2008 model, but that this problem isn't noticeable during a test drive as you're not in the car long enough.
I know that a small group of people on the Internet can make a problem seem more widespread than it actually is, but if several of the C&D test drivers had this complaint it must be an issue. Do you have any input on this, Alex? I was on the verge of purchasing the Civic EX, but I have a herniated disc problem, and am not going to take any chances with my back.
Thanks
I usually mention this in my reviews. Honda likes to have fairly aggressive fixed lumbar support in their cars. Personally I like that and so does my back but I do know that some people really dislike that much lumbar support and it can actually make them uncomfortable.
Alex on Autos Okay. I suppose the only way to find out would be to rent a 2014 Civic for a couple of days and see how the back holds up.
I bought a '15 and my back ached night and day for two weeks. Then....I got used to it, and two years later it hasn't bothered me at all.
Just buy a lumbar support pillow.
Scott B yeah same for me. My back was KILLING me when I first got my 13. Soooo uncomfortable. It’s still hard to get comfortable in the seats sometimes but I also guess my body has gotten more used to it
I'm sold. I want this car so bad. It has everything I want . I don't need leather or heated seats really. So 2014 ex model is what I'm looking at
So, what did you buy it?
Samee I own a 09 Honda Civic lx but I want a 2013 Honda Civic lx or ex I might trade my car in, in the future
@@LuisSierra42
Hopefully she waited for the 10th gen Civic.
Bought it because it looked nice , let a coworker drive it & now they want one .Seems i got myself a sweet whip
I love how "detailed" you are in reviewing the back seat. However, what is continually missed by ALL you tube reviwers, is making mention or even showing the OEM Subwoofer. I know some EX'S come with a subwoofers as they have the 7 speaker premium audio system, same thing in the Accord Ex.
I love how you explain the acceleration and driving feel of the CVT compared to other brands.
2014-2015 cng version civic natural gas car has classic transmission not cvt as i know. can you please confirm it ?? does anyone know??
Heck yes for that money i would go for a mid size car any day. Great review as always.
175,000 miles on mine and it aint worn out at all. I take good care of it though. It likes to go fast and get up to speed quick, so I let it loose on the interstate often.
No mayor problems?
u said the significant difference between 2013 & 2014 year model. would you be so kind to tell us what it is please?? thank you. will be greatly appreciated
Civics are the best cars overall. You get everything for a low price. Is a fuel efficient car as well.
No thanks I will stay with the Corolla
@ Chris J I've owned 4 Honda's the fun factor suddenly went out the window when I had to buy parts
@@MarcG7424 Your experience is not relevant to the thousands of vehicles sold. Toyota has a more reliable engine when it comes to automatic transmission. The manual version of honda is as good as Toyota. Other than that, they're pretty much equal. I drove high mileage civic, accords and camry's and i've never had any problems. The civic is still ''sportier''. If you had 4 honda's and had to buy parts it means that you're either purchasing used cars with no inspection or you're not following the manual. One last thing, the 2012 is the exception to the rule. cheers
@ The Philosopher but it's mine
@@MarcG7424
You misspelled the name of your own car which you're boasting about. Smooth move dude 😖 It's spelled "Corolla".
great review! i really appreciate the feedback on the cvt. test driving this year and model this weekend...i havent owned a honda since my '95 del sol. very excited to get behind the wheel of a honda again
Great review. The only thing I would have liked to know more about is the interior noise when driving compared to others. I'm guessing the dB number is enough to tell, but dumbing it down would have been nice.
I am working towards this so I have started to create tables on the website alexonautos.com that will list all the data for each car I test drive. I have to go back and insert the older statistics because I only have about the last 10 cars up at the moment. Let me know if that helps!
One thing I'd add is safety. The Civic far outscores the others. In fact, last I checked it's one of only three passenger vehicles (the others being the Forester and Mini Countryman) rated top score of "good" in the new small offset crash test. It gets top scores across the board and is an IIHS top safety pick "plus". Just something to consider.
PS, the Forte failed miserably at that test. They also show signs of age very early compared with others.
Thank you Alex. Your reviews are the most practical and I like CVTs too! 2nd gen Honda and Toyota CVTs are actually great!
Spot on Alex, great point about how the Civic as a package really is much weaker than the Accord. I have always felt like there is so much more to the Accord than the Civic. Maybe next year the Civic's engine will get the Earth Dreams make over with Direct injection and such to keep ahead of the new Fit and close the gap on the Accord.
hi alex! love your reviews and videos. they've been a huge help for my family in buying a car and nobody on youtube reviews in the detail you do. i wanna ask, what are your top 3 compact sedans for 2014?
Right now it would be the Mazda3, Forte and the Civic. The Mazda3 for its fuel economy and handling, the Forte for its excellent value and long warranty and the Civic for its good fuel economy, well rounded performance and stellar resale value and reliability reputation.
Alex - is one of the best cr reviewrs ever. if not THE best - thanks
It was my first time watching one of your videos and I am very impressed, to reward you I shall subscribe haha
I had 92, 99 and 2007 civic; over the years quality has gone done on these cars. 92 is bullet proof and still drives and 250k. 2007 has had several water pumps replaced and with continous driving (>2k miles) baring will blow out.
I like your comparison to other models. Great review Alex
I regret getting my ford focus I should have gone with a honda or toyota :/ I already gone to the dealer for my focus plenty of times already for a concern and most of of the time its the transmission
Juan Hurtado I believe Ford is known for transmission problems, but everything else about it is nice.
Me too, ford sucks
Focus had good seat and handing, but poor reliability on DCT. They expected buyers to "upgrade" to an SUV, but many went to other brands instead.
Your reviews are always superb. Thanks brother.
Excellent and very informative review, thanks a lot Alex :)
Now I have rounded my options to Mazda 3 or Civic Ex or Accord LX.
I will be using the car for daily commute and few weekend long trips. For sure I will use the car only for 4-5 years.
Which one will you pick if you were in my shoes. Or should I consider any other car too?
I’d get the civic
I always enjoy your video's Alex. But i wish you would speak a little bit slower. Keeps me from rewinding all the time...:-)
Bra just put the video at 75% speed

Something I would like to hear you add in your reviews is crash test scores when comparing models and making recommendations especially in compact segment. Mazda > Honda > Kia for this particular comparison. Love your work!
I second this. Small cars especially, since crashing results are usually more catastrophic.
Your reviews are the best and most thorough I've seen. They really need to be watched more than once to absorb all the information provided. I do have one suggestion. While you provide analyses of the seating for the driver and rear passengers, I don't recall a review in which you mentioned the facilities for the front passenger (perhaps I missed it). My wife is only 4'10" and has a problem with a non-adjustable low passenger seat and a high dashboard and windows. When we test drove a Fit, that was a disqualifier. With a car like the Civic or the Prius line, that have instruments panels on top of the traditional dash, that could be even more of an issue. How is passenger side visibility in the Civic?
I found visibility to be good, but I'd be a poor judge of visibility for a 4'10" person.
Alex on Autos
Generally speaking though, don't you think it would be worth while to report on front seat passenger accommodations? After all, it's much more likely that there would be a front seat passenger, than two or three people in the back.
way2kuhl
I usually consider the driver's seat comfort score to apply to the passenger seat. They are usually identical.
Alex on Autos
Except for adjustability (lumbar support, seat height, for instance). Anyhow, I'll let it go at that. Thanks again for your excellent reviews and your prompt replies.
way2kuhl In the grand scheme of things, most vehicles two front seats are identical in height and differ only slightly in adjustibility. I have yet to sit in a vehicle where the passenger seat was vastly different in terms of comfort from the driver.
I don't know about the 2014 but I found when I leaned back in the back seat the back of my head was hitting where the end of the roof meets the glass.
Legroom was just fine.
Excellent and thorough review.
How smooth is the CVT when driving 'sensibly' I strongly dislike shift feel and even shift shock from automatics bothers me. Thanks.
About the faster CVT: I happen to own a "11 Sentra and a '14 Accord. I beleive the improved acceleration in the Honda CVT is due to its ability to lock the torque converter faster and at more throttle positions. I have noticed I obtain the best acceleration ( in the Sentra) not at full throttle, but at about 80% throttle. At full, the engine winds up a lot and just revs (like you mentioned) But at 80% you feel it "lock in" and accelerate well. Even if you start out at full throttle and then back off to 80% you will feel the car snap and take off , due ( I believe) to the Torque converter engaging. Sound plausible?
There's something more going on in the Honda CVT. Unlike Nissan who is very transparent with engineering designs, Honda doesn't share as much information so I can't say why it lacks the "rubber band" effect or how it changes ratios so rapidly. I can say that Honda denies using a planetary gearset which was my first thought, because the Nissan "small engine CVT" which is used in the Versa and Note improves down-shift response and increases the gear spread by using a 2-speed planetary gearset in the transmission. When down-shifting, that transmission can swap to the "low" ratio in the planetary gearset giving the feel of a rapid and more traditional downshift. My guess is that Honda just made their CVT's "cones" move more rapidly and to reduce wear they programmed the system to retard torque while the quick shift occurs, these two things combine to create a more "traditional" feel.
Can you fold the back seats down and access the trunk through a similar hatchback loading floor like you can in the mazda3?
that will help if you review 2015 honda crv touring. Thanks
Another splendid review!
It also has smart key access and start.
HI,
great video I have always loved HONDAS and I hope to get back into one very soon, thanks
Honda Civics are just great working cars. Not to mention how cute they are
Hey Alex, I have to correct you on something. You said the EX model comes standard with the CVT transmission. I can tell you that's incorrect at least for the coupe. I test drove an EX model Civic Coupe that had a manual just two days ago at my local Honda dealer (and it drove amazing, too). You should have got the coupe model for your tester. It's leagues above the sedan anyday!
***** This is a review of the sedan so the transmission line up is correct. The Coupe has a different options list.
The lights from the back are same toyota aurion 2010 !!??
According to Edmunds the 2015 Civic EX sedan with the CVT did 0 to 60 in 9.1
Yeah, Alex's 0-60 is quite generous. Most publicans have it around 8.8 - 9.2 seconds to 60. I guess it depends on elevation.
letsgocapsbeatpens What I noticed is that most publications have not 0-60 tested the CVT, instead they referred to the 2014 0-60 time. Edmunds did this in their initial test, they quoted the former time and said it would be back for a full instrumented test later. TO my knowledge that has not happened yet.
"During Edmunds' track testing, a Civic EX-L coupe with the CVT ran from zero to 60 mph in 9.0 seconds, and an EX sedan with the CVT did it in 9.1 seconds -- that's about half a second slower than average for this class."
www.edmunds.com/honda/civic/2015/#/leaderboard-reviews-3-anchor
It's possible having less fuel in the tank and elevation caused a slightly inflated 0-60. However, this car is still on my list to replace my 2010 Hyundai Elantra. Alex, Please do a Dodge Dart SXT and Areo review!
Great video. It was informative and thorough. I'm subscribing after I post this comment. By the way, can you do a video on the 2015 Honda CR-Z? Thanks again for the awesome video Alex on Autos.
Thanks! I'll see what I can do about the CR-Z
Alex on Autos Awesome
Alex,
You say that some versions of the Mazda 3 are quieter than the Civic, which is surprising as most reviews claim the Mazda 3 is loud. Exactly which versions of the Mazda 3 were you talking about?
The top end Mazda3 trims in sedan form came in quieter than the Civic.
the newer civics can get 48 mpg on the highway .. with turbo 1.5 or the 2.0 lx.
Thank you for all these great reviews first.
I am going to buy a compact car, currently considering Civic and Mazda3 or maybe 2015 focus. My requirements are quietness and above average handling. You said that some trim of Mazda3 is quieter than Civic, Would you please give me some suggestion on the quietness of these cars, Focus, Civic and Mazda3? Thank you very much.
The Focus is likely going to be the quietest of the three, then the 2.5L Mazda3, then the Civic.
Hi Alex,
Have you done a video review for the 2014 Honda CR-V? I cannot recall.
Also, I have a 2011 CR-V & it still has an "analog" display for the RPMs & speedometer, which I prefer.
Do you know if they will do away with "analog" on the Hondas (or other manufacturers), in general, going forward?
Thanks for all the research you put into your work & for all your knowledge that you share! I really appreciate your videos!
I haven't yet, it is on my list but somehow it slipped by me when it was new.
What is the difference between 2014-2015 Honda Civic?
Nothing really. They're basically the same. The 2015 however has a new trim model called SE (may reference to "Special Edition"). The SE comes with some features like the camera and auto climate. Basically looks like a LX but has features of a EX. But nothing really major for 2015 other than the new trim.
how long till the cvt grenades itself?
I have the 2013 Civic LX. While overall it's a great compact vehicle, I've noticed a few things. The brakes and the sound system on the LX model are both weak points. Also, the 5 speed automatically, whether on Eco or regular mode isn't as a smooth of a transmission as I would have expected. After having two Toyota's, I got used to the butter smooth transmission found in those vehicles. That said, I feel that the Civic is a better choose then the Corolla and is still safer car as well.
Hi Alex,
Another great review. I'm considering the Mazda 3 or the Civic EX. You said that the Civic is *not* as quite as certain versions of the Mazda 3. Road and wind noise is a real pet peeve of mine... I was hoping you could tell us which versions of the Mazda 3 are quieter than the Civic EX?
Much thanks
The last Mazda3 Touring that I drove was quieter (2.0L engine). If you want quiet, give the Accord LX a try, it's not much more than the Civic EX and it is quieter and it also has active noise cancellation.
Alex on Autos Alex, it is worth noting that the Mazda3 has noise cancellation as well, in the form of the "audio pilot" function in its audio settings. I"m not sure if you tested the noise level with it on or off.
Car and driver usually have the fastest 0-60 in the car testing industry, but they have only managed 8.8 secs, 7.6 seems hard to believe, I've driven the car and no matter how hard I tried the car never went below 9, and I live at sea level, mind you I had a passanger but there's no way one slim passanger can add so much time... are you sure it wasn't downhill?
The test track I use is 13 feet uphill actually. Were you testing the model with the CVT? There was a big difference between the 5-speed and the CVT.
I don't understand why Honda won't put a 60/40 rear split in the Accord. I've owned Accords dating back to 1990, and none of them have had it.
I have a '99 Accord Coupe with the 60/40 split fold down seat.
I've owned sedans, so perhaps it's only a coupe thing.
That's really odd that they would do that.
+LyricsQueen As for America, only the coupes had a 60/40 split until 2016.
I bought this exact car I love it. Nice ride and it's faster than I thought .My only complaint is it is geared toward Iphone users which unfortunately for me I have an Android but whatever maybe next contract I will get Iphone.
Great review. You covered everything about the car.
When do you think you can do a review on the 2014 Nissan Sentra and 2014 Subaru Impreza Hatchback?
i want that 3rd rear break light
I have almost 2000 miles logged on my 2014 Civic EX, but I'm only averaging 22mpg, driving according to the efficiency guide set by Honda, honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong; 22 on a car rated for 34 is pretty depressing. Looked online and everyone else seems to be getting close to or better than the rating.
I really like the white EX but I don't know how I feel about the beige interior. Your thoughts? Best all around color?
It's very much a personal preference. I'm partial to lighter interiors.
Alex, I'm interested to see your review of the 2015 Honda Fit. Will you be reviewing that model soon?
I hope to have one in about a month but I don't have a firm date just yet.
Great review. Do all civics come with the infotainment systems?
Base models get a simple radio with Pandora smartphone integration, EX, EX-L and EX-L with Navigation get the one seen in this video. I'm told that the bulk of Civics on the lot will have this radio.
Not sure why you'd need to be able to store more carry-ons. You're limited to one on most of the normal non-low cost US airlines.
More than one person in the car?
Let's assume 5. I've driven my car (an S60) to the airport with bags packed for everybody (1 carry on, and .5 checked bags each). No problem fitting everything in.
While I understand the "more space" argument. The "more carryon" argument is largely irrelevant. Since a pretty normal car can already fit all the carryons you'll ever need + more.
The argument is for scale. The point here is that the Sentra has a bigger trunk because it can fit more carry-on bags. I personally find it more representative than using numbers. Other reviewers use grocery bags or crates for this argument.
Chupick Nicolas I tend to believe that representations should be meaningful. It's meaningless to be able to carry 9 (or whatever) carry-ons. Just like it's meaningless that a football field is, what, four 747 wingspans? What does that, like, even mean?
I guess the problem is just marketing speak. It'd be pretty boring to say "oh the Civic has 10 more cubic feet of trunk space." Even though that'd probably be more helpful to know.
Cameron Tu No one is expecting anyone to literally pack their car full of carryons, it's just for perspective. It's easier for some people to have a visual representation rather than a number so they can get an idea of how much space the car actually has. Throwing around numbers can sound like jargon to people who can't accurately imagine how big that space is.
Awesome review but I would recommend for potential buyer(s) to rent or test drive this Civic with CVT a bit longer before decided to make a final purchase. I bought a 2014 Civic LX and I wish I hadn't bought it because the CVT is annoying especially at slow stop and go situation. Still trying to get use to the CVT but sometime it suck!
At 14:05 why do you question the CVT engine when it comes to enjoyment of driving? Is this something I missed where cvts are generally not well liked by drivers? So many cars are changing over to them. Lastly... Has the civic sedan made it back onto consumer reports' recommended list? Thank you
CVTs aren't as quick to shift ratios as a traditional automatic. So if you're driving along and want to pass, or if you're driving the car hard, the time it takes to transition from a high ratio to a low ratio is longer than with your average 6-speed. Personally I think it's an OK trade off because CVTs have better economy numbers and hill climbing is vastly improved when you have a small engine. However, many outlets like Consumer Reports dislike CVTs in all flavours and don't see the positives so I don't think it had ended up on their recommended list yet,
Gotcha. its crazy how consumer reports and other review sites are against cvts when it seems like they are so popular among manufacturers these days .
I am in the market for a compact sedan and love the look of this car. But for someone who has a little need for speed and likes to drive, do you think a cvt is the way to go? Sadly I don't think I have much of a choice anymore as it seems like 80% of cars are going cvt
Michael L CVTs in cars like this will give you the best acceleration and the best fuel economy. They are lighter weight than the 9-speed ZF that some makers are starting to use and have a more normal feel when compared to dual-clutch transmissions. Honda has the best CVT in this category, so it would be hard to go wrong with the Civic. You should spend some time in the cars you're looking to see what really speaks to you.
Michael L A lot of car manufacturers like Toyota and Honda are going for CVTs for fuel economy and other factors. You also need to be aware that their economy cars sell by the masses, which is why percentages can be deceiving. Look at it this way, high volume sellers like the Corolla have a CVT and that makes up the 80% or so but tons of car models that don't sell as much don't have the CVT such as any car with power. i.e. Mazda 3, Ford Fusion etc.
I don't hear anything that makes my ears annoyed when I start going 50 I hear a loud high pitch noise, not brakes or rotors checked I hear it from the muffler
Does anyone have any guesses on what this issue may be on my 2015 civic. This video while driving I don't hear anything that would worry me when I drive but when I drive mines at 50mph I start hearing a high pitch woooooooooooooooing sound, everyone Says that's just the motor it's normal but Iam not so sure it is after watching this video. While this guy drove I heard nothing but quiet so I know something is wrong with mines
I think you actually get more horse power in the '14 vs the '13.
Hi Alex! Would you choose this 2014 Civic EX or 2014 Corolla S Plus?
The Civic spoke to me more than the Corolla. I suggest spending as much time in both to see which fits you better.
I noticed "Applause" ARTPOP Lady Gaga.
Alex, can you also compare this CVT with a Subaru CVT ? Thanks!
The Subaru, Audi, Nissan and Toyota CVTs all behave very similarly. Overall the Honda CVT suits my tastes better because of its ability to switch ratios more rapidly than previous designs.
Poor Kia Forte and Mazda3...the best cars and don't even break the top 6 list of vehicle sales in their class.
I own a new Mazda3, and I am secretly glad that it's not selling like a Civic. I don't see them on the road much at all and I feel somewhat special :P
zxbc I know, right? I also like that feeling since I drive something that not many people drive. Just because certain cars aren't as popular as others it doesn't mean I should just jump on the bandwagon of biased car critics and what others think.
When are they going to update those headlights to projectors?
I know right! Even the new 2015 Fit still uses reflector headlights.
Engineers needs to step up a notch. Everybody's uses the projectors nowadays.
Pardon my naivety, but why does it matter?
jeff cowen Projector beam headlights cast more light further down the road, have a much sharper light cutoff unlike reflectors since the light is scattered and they also look better.
thebluexanadu78 Thank you for the explanation. If you don't mind me asking another silly question, why does the light cutoff sharpness matter?
If yes where can i find gps on the setting
...didn't you say in the other video that the Mazda 3 had a lot of road noise?
Looks like the Mazda3 hatch scored 72 and the sedan was slightly lower at 71. The Civic was 72.
wait what
The Mazda 3 is quieter?
We have a Civic and I'm currently shopping for a new car, the 3 seemed very loud. Have you done that test on a freeway?
He said specific models of the Mazda 3 were quieter, not all of them.
I checked Edmunds. The 2.0 is supposedly quieter at speed, but louder idling (in measured testing).
It's weird.
***** Anything is possible.

I am curious how you arrived to that 0-60 figure for the CVT auto. Seems way faster than all of the other reviews I've seen from the major publications.
You have to step on it and nice non-humid weather helps too
I'm thinking of buying this or the toyota corolla What do u guys say?
If you care about styling, go with Toyota, if you like performance and decent everyday needs, go the Honda. Make sure to check both of them out and other cars like accord, Mazda, Nissan.
Same here...i would go with the Civic, the Corolla has tiny blind spot mirrors, and it just feels boring...
Hey, those are both great cars just compare specs and the gas tanks etc then choose what YOU like!
Hey, i'm getting a new grad car "gift", umm it's just that i don't know what i want...This or the Mazda 3? It's just that the 3 is a little more pricey. Let me know...
From a lot of people, the Mazda is a winner when comparing to the Honda. It's very sexy looking, has a better interior (except of that weird touchscreen that's attached to the dash). It has a good fuel efficiency. It's also has nice handling and ride. The Honda is very good for lasting long, top of the line fuel efficiency. It does have a good ride and handling but not the best. It's also alittle small car if you are a tall person or so. Over all, Mazda is the best as far as people say but Honda is very average but it has some pros against Mazda. I would also suggest test driving them as well as other cars like the Nissan Sentra (Very spacious car), Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla. Hope this help and good luck.
Mazda 3 is worth it bose surround sound and a fun car
TheMisterTroll02 Worst argument ever!
don't mean to sound like a stalker, but where in California are you from? It's really pretty, I'm from LA
Near Santa Cruz
Monterrey bay! Spent my summers there! No wonder i like it so much
New owner of a 2015 EX-L Civic (24,000 miles)! Lovely car
are you still happy with it? i see a 2015 and 16 at a dealer and i am thinking.
Where do you do your filming, it is beautiful.
Most videos are filmed between Burlingame and Santa Cruz California.
Alex on Autos Lucky, that is my favorite part of the country.
Thanks Alex!
Essas rodas me lembram a linha DS da Citroën.
Why does Honda continue to use the same old 1.8 liter engine for over a decade??
In general the reason is to keep costs down. That's also why Toyota sells an old 4-speed in the base Corolla.
Is this a 2014 or a 2015???
This car as a gps??
Cuh got no gas😂 , but love the car probably finna get one , FIRST CAR🤙🏾✅
Wait,....you got what as a 0-60 time?? :-/
A nice car for Europe. But here in Europe they are hatchback customers. I am a sedan lover just like in the USA. I want to emigrate ;)
Sven Dijkstra Aside from luxury cars, we don't see a lot of cheap sedans in Europe:P
WuWei Xu. You right. In the luxury class there are more sedans.
Today another Civic driver with an tourer mk IX greats me. I saw the nose of his black civic , wave me goodday and give a horn.
Like car enthousiasts do.
I go to start other Civic MK IX drivers great nice drive.
That tourer is something very different.
I see older civic drivers be jalours that i have a newer car.
They have no ledlight daydrive. But that civic is nice, i test drive it when i was looking for a civic. The second had a empty battery with an airco who needs service, the first was driving wel, but to much usage spots, it had a pre owner who butch here and there and a door handle was buggling. So i can not see usage spots , i had a 16 years old car with less usage spots, very carefull personality, i desides to buy as young as i can. Ok, in my car i have some usage spots of the pre owner but it is in certain borders of acceptation.
gonna fall asleep listening to you
the faux stiching, which is new style looks so tacky, low end
Hello Alex , I have a quick question. What is the difference between 2014 and 2015 Civic EX?
Essentially nothing.
Thank you so much Alex ....
i lost it xD @ 2:18
Should I go for the 2014 civic or 2014 Sentra?
I heard the Nissan Sentra is pretty rough when it comes to ride, and handling. But the Nissan Sentra is a pretty big car compared to its class. If you carry a lot of stuff in cars, the Nissan Sentra is pretty spacious for you. The Honda Civic is pretty good. I have no problems so far with my ex model. The Honda Civic is alittle small. However, I don't carry a lot of stuff and I'm not a very tall or big person so it's a nice car for me. Make sure to check these two cars and also others like Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3, Ford Focus.
Civic !
Go with the VW Jetta 1.8 turbo.
Go with mazda 3 if you want decent interior, bose surround sound, and a fun car to drive
Occams Razor and wait for it to break down every 10k miles...
I think the 2009 shape was the best looking
Milton Williams Yep! 2009-2011 Civic's are the best!!!
2006-2008 are the same generation as the 09-11's but are before the mid cycle refresh. The front end and parts of the interior look better on the 09-11's.
I agree but they had some major issues (by Honda/ Toyota standards) that the 7th and 9th gens don't have
That's if u like peeling paint and engine issues
I thought you were Tom Cruise..😅
Am I the only one who doesn't want a HUD screen in a car?
Love Honda reliability and resale. Honda better pickup their game cause they're starting to look a bit bland now.
WORST SEATS EVER!!!! My back hurts so bad everyday when I get to work 😡😡😡😡🤬😤😤😤
