      Typically, manufacturer/brand reps don't like it when they get asked the critical questions on a vehicle. And you're right - eyesore indeed. Roman exposed him when he asked why the shocks offered on the Colorado were not offered on this Silverado. And for the Chevy rep to say it wasn't his decision does make you wonder.

    It’s pretty sweet that Chevy set this up. It’s nice to see this truck in action! I’m still not sold on the exterior design and don’t like the fact that you can’t get this trim with the 6.2. Another thing is at 8:22 Roman rightfully asked about other features not available (yet) and his response was to “..have room to grow in the future.”
    I’ve got a problem with that, give us your best now and just get better every year! That mentality might be part of the reason GM is not the sales leader.
    Anyways, awesome video guys! I’m excited to drive this truck myself!

    • @hochhaul
      @hochhaul Před 5 lety +1

      Prime Autotainment Well its not like the competition are putting their best out right away. The 2019 Ram's engine old 5.7 they have been putting in the truck for nearly a decade now. Ford held back on the 10-speed and the high-output 3.5EB. Even now they're still holding back when you consider how much power the 3.5EB makes in a Ford GT.

    • @snooplikesbacon
      @snooplikesbacon Před 5 lety +3

      Prime Autotainment I read last month that Chevy or GM has the most market share for trucks (as it topped out ford)

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment Před 5 lety +3

      snooplikesbacon thanks for sharing! I also saw an article saying that. The only thing is that includes all 4 trucks from GM, going up against the lone F-series from ford. I don’t mean to bash GM, I used to drive a Silverado, I just feel that they have the power and resources to produce something better than they do and sell it better too.

    • @snooplikesbacon
      @snooplikesbacon Před 5 lety

      Prime Autotainment Well that number will continue to rise and it will be very competitive I think, with Ford bringing on the ranger will see some extra sales but i think where GM will see alot of growth is with the new medium duty segment (4500-6500) I'm not sure if those will be in the sales charts but I think the F-series gets counted up to F-550? So itll be interesting to see what happens.

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment Před 5 lety

      snooplikesbacon that’s true about the f-series and I don’t know how high it goes either lol. I’m just happy that GM kept making the Colorado/Canyon while Ford/Ram dropped the midsize segment. I’m excited to see how things play out once the Ranger and 2019 Silverado is Here!

      I would argue better interior than ford but ram has them beat. Ram is lagging behind in engine power. The 5.7 is good but the 6.2 in this lighter truck will smoke it and it already did in the previous generation. The front end is just so ugly though. Have to wait and see it and the gm in person though.

      Toribio Contreras Most modern halftons with 10 and 8 speed transmissions don't need a 2-range transfer case. Especially the suburban housewives driving their husbands new F-150 to Wal-Mart. 95% of modern half-tons will probably never engage 4LO intentionally. And the guys that do need 4LO would buy a Z71 anyways.

    • @stevengrey1948

      IT may not be all that crazy if they do something different. I think Ford in the Police Pursuit version of the F150 removed low range and added on the fly all wheel drive capability. Which makes a lot of sense because most people don't have the awareness to flip the switch when they are about to get stuck. so if they do some electronic "magic" maybe removing "Low" is not that crazy....
      Its different...but not totally crazy. Besides Pickups are just luxury toy haulers these days.

      chadly1337 His attitude was no different than every Ford engineer or rep riding along during an F-150 demo. And the Ram guys would rather talk about touchscreens and hammers. Toyota's Mike Sweers was busy claiming drum brakes were chosen because they're "better" for offroading and that customers don't care than the Tundra guzzles gas like a 3/4-ton yet has less payload and towing capacity than most competitor's half-tons.
      So yeah, not really an issue. Most people would have a bad attitude when asked tons of stupid questions all day and running the same demo course over and over again.

    Thanks for sharing Roman and Tommy, this is the truck and trim lvl that I have been waiting to see in action. I would agree that it is not a Raptor fighter at all, and I thought that from the beginning, but like you said more of a RAM Rebel fighter and I am fine with that. Perhaps in 2020 or 2021 year model they will extend the line past what they have launched with by have a ZR2 packaged truck that has the 6.2L V8 to match or get close to the HP of the 3.5L Eco HO and better shocks (maybe if possible the Multimatic DSSVs in a larger set up) and suspension travel to compete with Ford. But GM is not known to take those wild chances often like Ford and RAM/Dodge are. I can't wait to see what you guys have in store on the 13th.

Love my Jeep but just needed more room and more towing capacity I just drove it home from the dealership didn't get much Road time with it but about a 15-mile ride and very impressed the Dura track tires runs real smooth for how aggressive they look. Only thing I recommend Chevy doing is having a seat height adjuster in the non power seat the hood is extremely high and for short people it will be a real challenge to see the front over the front hood I'm 5-11 and I can just barely see tip of the front with the stocks seats I have to pick up one of those driving cushions LOL

    Kind of disappointed by interior design, the last 3 gens of Silverado haven’t been up to par with the competition. When you are spending luxury car money as most of these trucks are, it should be an upscale area to be, honestly its one the main reason why I switched to RAM (always been a Sierra and Silverado guy). All these trucks cost money and hopefully GM can back some good design language like they had in the late 90’s and early 2000...loved those Silverado interior and exterior
