    I finally found my type! For awhile I thought I might be a romantic because my measurements are exactly the same as Marilyn Monroe, but I'm nearly 6' with very long legs. I was also confused about my face because in my opinion I have very contrasting features - large eyes, soft brows, pouty lips, but a very defined jaw, high cheekbones, and strong nose bridge. Cool to know other women share features similar to mine who are absolutely stunning.

    • @AlexNarra
      @AlexNarra Před rokem +4

      Me too and I have a small chest. I am tall (174) but no matter how thin I was always an hourglass and always had hips. With age, I filled in and gained a bit of weight so even if I am still slim I am more fleshy than a normal slim person. As my husband said, I look thinner than what I feel like 🤣 Still, sometimes I get confused about whether I am a flamboyant natural. I'm not as pure dramatic as I should be more angular.

    • @lisaa.942
      @lisaa.942 Před rokem +2

      @@AlexNarra Yes. MerriamStyle mentions that there are thin SD's. She features a couple of SD clients, one is voluptuous, the other two are thin. I should've listened to my husband years ago when he continuaally mentioned my curves. I think I was just seeing the dramatic first and only (5'9", 35" inseam, mostly legs), and listening to CZcamsrs (although I appreciate them) always mentioning "SD's are big busted", I never considered it and was stuck about three years, but after putting pictures together; bathing suits, dresses, etc., I saw it before I had a consult. And then the consult confirmed it. It was worth it, and I'm finally having fun. 😃. Funny thing is, most of my closet was SD. Something to note, another CZcamsr mentioned that most women get their style right before they know their Kibbe type. Just got rid of a few baggy clothing items, and voila! The only downside is it has always been hard to look casual, and I live in a very casual climate.

    • @AlexNarra
      @AlexNarra Před rokem +1

      @@lisaa.942 Me too, and I agree. To be honest, most of the time I am overdressed compared with other people but it's ok. For me the most difficult thing are winters because it's hard to dress really warm under an SD style. I am extremely cold so I like to layer and I will sacrifice my SD just to stay warm but I don't like it. Knitwear is difficult but what I do is just fold it so at least my jumpers finish as waist level-ish for some definition at least. It's not perfect but better than the baggy ones. I can sometimes pull a bit the dramatic style coats too in winter because I am tall so I can kind of "get away with it" but it's not ideal.

  • @JuliaKirsty
    @JuliaKirsty Před 8 měsíci +2

    This could be my cousin. She has big eyes, fuller lips (but in a rather dramatic outline) and has the typical hourglass shape and Kibbe double curve. She is long limbed and has narrow bones but straight shoulders. And you can see her hourglass even when she's overweight. Her facial features are pretty striking and her eyes have that feline look to them. Her nose also is very dramatic. Maybe the only dramatic person in our family. My dad is looking pretty soft (not sure if he's romantic or soft natural though), my brother is some sort of natural, my mom too, my aunt (the mother of my cousin) as well, I am flamboyant natural and my grandma (my dad's mom) looked very romantic or soft gamine. But I am not too sure about that, she had a soft look and bodyshape though. My grandpas, I honestly can't recall the way they looked too well. They both dyed when I was VERY young and I only have portrait photos of them. But my mom's dad looked very blunt with a bit of drama while my dad's dad looked softer and more rounded. My cousins dad looks pretty dramatic to me and since we all have romantic in our genetics it might play a role in essence or body type differently for all of us. I have the full lips of my dad, also the rather small chin, but the more chiseled jawline and cheekbones of my mom's dad and the bluntness of my mom's mom (she was very beautiful by the way, even right before she died), I also got the upturned feature of my dad's nose and the bluntness of my mom's nose. I even have the exact same irregularities they have in their faces. The slight monolid of my dad, the rounded yet very upturned almond shape of my mom with the more rounded inner corner of my dad. I also got an even mix between warmth and coolness (light spring here) and I can see the origin of it in my parents.
    My grand aunt and her daughters all have some drama in their features while she and one of her daughters are very short and angular. I think they might be gamines. I find that so much fun to see. How different genetics can play out. My grand aunt also has dark hair and eyes, one of her daughters has the exact same coloring, but looks slightly softer than her and her other daughter is as tall as me and more blunt looking, also has a more mixed coloring (haselnut brown hair, pale skin, striking chrystal clear green eyes, so less muted and more contrasted than her mom and sister). My brother and I do have the exact same coloring and share similar taste in anything, really. (fashion, interior design, art, the colors we both like, even our hair cut is kind of similar) Genetics are fun to observe imho. Especially when you can see the impact it spreads throughout an entire family.
    I find it quite sad that we don't have more pictures of the people that lived prior to me being able to remember them. My mom always tells me she had an aunt that looked pretty much like me but there is absolutely no picture of her in all of our collections. She was an absolute tomboy even back in that age of time. But lemme just tell you, I would never get my features altered because I really appreciate seeing my parents in my face. Even first signs of aging. Similar to theirs when they were my age. (Besides photo-aging because I barely ever let the sun touch my unprotected skin, but they really never cared.)

      Soft Dramatics tend to have long limbs compared to long torsos. When people look at your arms, legs, hands, and fingers, do your arms and legs look longer than your torso? Because of that, do people think you are taller than you are?
      Or...if your limbs and torso seem balanced, you may be some sort of classic or natural.
      For example, I'm 5'11" and have long arms and legs, and long narrow feet, hands, and fingers. I also have a fleshy middle, and all the other characteristics of a Soft Dramatic, so while I bounced back and forth for a minute, it sorted itself out rather quickly.

      I think face shape has way less to do with Kibbe body typing than people realize. The point of the system is to help people find the right clothes to suit them.
      Kibbe described certain tendencies in faces but I don’t think he meant them to be strict criteria to evaluate type. It was more like trends or tendencies he observed that might be generally useful as a hint, rather than a determining factor. Ultimately it’s factors like vertical, curve, yin and yang that work together to determine the ID. And that’s most evident in the body.

    I thought I was a soft dramatic, because I am tall, have broad shoulders and and a distinctive nose and the fact that I am more flashy.
    But I do not have a strong jaw or a big bust. For the dramatic type, I am not as lean and as well not as sharp.
    I think I just can not categorize myself as accurately as possible.

      @@genevievejohnson348 Thank you. Yes, I could not decide between soft dramatic and flamboyant natural. I would say I am more of a flamboyant natural.

      I'm 5'2" and a SD. Don't focus so much on numerical height. The key is your lines. If you 'seem tall', even at our diminutive height, you have the necessary vertical lines.
