KIBBE BOOK Metamorphosis: amzn.to/2Jw7Qfv
🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

After watching loads of your videos the penny has now dropped. Thinking I was classic and now this video definitely natural/soft natural. Probably more soft because I am shorter but love it and the styles recommended are so much more ‘me’ than the classic recommendations
Maybe fabrics for body types?
Do you give consulting for menopausal women?
THANK YOU for not simplifying women's bodies into fruits
Idk if you're saying this as a good thing or a bad thing, but she's using the respectful Kibbe system and not the outdated fruit system. This technique just enhances your best features. Also, it's not just women who want to look good, men try their hardest to look good and affluent too, there's a version of this system for men.
@@cutienerdgirl It was totally meant as a good thing
But the fruit analogy is easier to understand
@@cutienerdgirl Huh? How could it be a bad thing?
Isis not really lol
Every single type she describes with admiration.
true!
That what I love about her among other things
Why not? They are pretty nuetral. Nothing really good or bad about them. Except that she is telling you to ignore your own personality.
@@mariasmith2198 How so?
@@mariasmith2198 It's very common knowledge that the media tries to present only one specific body type as the "good" one while making the others seem "flawed", which explains why it seems unattainable by most women. Also these are just guidelines, not commandments; in the end you decide if you apply them to your body or not.
Ι love the way she describes bodies it sounds so neutral and non judgmental. Like hell yeah i have flesh. Cool.
Nephelim ... yes! Loving all no condemnation!
Nephelim ... yes! Loving all no condemnation!
Or like I'm short or boyish or look like a fairy tale character, cool. Actually doesn't Aly look like she came out of a disney movie, like a pixie or something.
Nephelim that's so true!
If you think about it, there are no ugly people, just people who don't know how to dress in a way that flatters them. Everyone can be beautiful with their own unique way, they just have to find the most efficient way to show it.
@@evangeliakallia6564 Idk. I'm supposed to be a soft classic, but I have wayyyy too many stretch marks and crap too pull off those looks. No pregnancy, just brought up fat and lost it in adulthood, resulting in saggy skin, and particularly my huge breasts still being big but not shapely anymore. So I don't think everyone can with just the right clothing but I appreciate the sentiment. :)

she actually made me feel beautiful while describing my body type.

*I love her free and neutral descriptions of the body and generally non-shaming attitude*
I've never seen her shame anyone. She has given her own opinion in a constructive way but never really shamed, never intentionally.
This is system created by man, it is not hers. She just uses his system.
I came here expecting some apple, hourglass, grapes nonsense and "fixing of body type to look more hourglass" but I was so pleased with just the first few minutes and stayed on for your legitimately useful and frankly all-round complimentary advice. Thanks for having nothing but good to say about various body types unlike most style gurus.
🍏🍐⏳🤣🤣
You must be an Apple shape, those are the one usually bitching when describing hourglass shape.
@@Maremare680 harsh.
P G fuck off
@@Maremare680 according to the fruit basket analogy(?) I'm actually hourglass but no dressing "advice" based on this system has made sense to me yet? This is a lot more comprehensive for that! Also no shade to "apple"/"hourglass" women, y'all are honestly so, so beautiful!
You look like Queenie from Fantastic Beasts in this video!

I agree with the comments about how fabulously she describes body types without any spark of negativity I actually felt good about being a romantic body type (although I have a bit much of romance going on right now lol )

Lubna Siddiq THANKS for the timeline. It's really helpful.
Thanks!
Classic here.
How do I explain to my mom that I need expensive clothes cuz they suit my body type 😂
I think she's misusing the word "accurate" throughout the video... In Russian the word is used to describe something that is aesthetically neat and clean looking. In English however it's not used in the same context, it's used to refer to precision in context of data etc, which is why some people are confused.
And it seems to be her favorite word. LOL. What might be a better replacement? "Neat", "clean", or "crisp"?
@@VioletJoy I'd say "neat" or "polished" is more of what she's going for.
@@jillgogilgo19 It's funny how there are so many versions of "English". LOL
I think it's fun that she tends to use wrong words we can still understand. "Accurate" weirdly describes well what she means. We understand, so who cares if it's right or wrong. English is not her native language, give her some slack.
@@emilialaine2574 It's not a problem. I'd just like to know what she meant since that word is used differently here.
When your style is dramatic but your body is romantic 🙄
Own it!
Ssme
Me too 🤷♀️
And the opposite :( Just realized my wardrobe is all flowy circle dresses
When your style is gamine but you have a sack of rice for a body :')
She makes me feel more at ease with my body 😭 honestly young girls should watch her videos to make them realize that there’s truly no ‘standard’ for beauty
I thought my body (dramatic) has no shape, like no curve just fricking straight af from the front view, but then the way she described it, it made my day.
I think dramatic body types are so beautiful! My mom is a dramatic (i'm a soft natural) and I always wanted to be tall and thin like her!
Dramatics are amazingly beautiful.
I think dramatic bodies are so cool and elegant ❤️ What's the matter with having no curves? You girls are living art déco pieces!
I am late, but D girls remind me of Bond girls, agents, queens. NEVER FEEL BAD FOR BEING D GIRL, AND YES THIS COMES FROM R GIRL. I love all of D girls, never feel bad about your body
Everything and everyone has a shape :)
I'm finding hard time telling the difference tbh
I couldn't figure out what my body type is
Haifa sm me too!
I was there, Take the test 13perfectshapes.wordpress.com/13ps-kibbe-quiz-female-version/ you may have some doubts between a few items but then you'll be between two options and not 13 😂
Haifa sm me too, I have no idea what I am.
V BL Haha I did the test and got a score of 196 but that too high to even fall into a category...
Naomi Mol lol I just tried taking its and mine didn’t make sense either
The words for when you wash clothes and the color goes away are “muted” “faded” “worn in” (: in case someone hasn’t said already
Sounds like my skin... 😁😂
I love it how you tell people that it's okay to NOT correct their body. Van you please do a video for bodies that are slightly chubby but short?
I second this!
it depends more if you are an apple type with hardly any waist, then oversized but not layering is best, or if you have a waist, you should wear a lot of longer skater dresses and ballerina skirts with a tighter top, and can further emphasize the waist with belts. Oversized 80's style high rise suit trousers with belts. Kristen from Buzzfeed has a very round shape but she always wears that kind of dress because she has a slight waist
strandedstarfish yes!!! Love it too!
Accentuate the parts of your body you want to show off. Balance is key, too. The point of wearing clothes do such things like "fixing" is to emphasize other parts of your body. If you are chubby you dont want to wear something that emphasizes your size, you will wear something that emphasizes the actual shape your body has (because chubby girls are not all apple shapes). If youre short you wear extreme length pants (short or long) to elongate the legs. You want the entirety of your leg to be visible whether its the actual skin or its the shape through some jeans (pants dont have to be tight but the style does depend on your body type and where your curves are)
i used to work in a clothes shop and 'petite' means 'short'. If your top, your legs or both are short, buying 'petite' but in your size - you can be a petite 18 or 20 for instance (although the sizes tend to be smaller than most modern ones) - will help your clothes fit better. Having the waist on your waist especially helps with jackets and dresses. The single most important fit, especially for jackets and coats, is the shoulder seam, which should fit right on the shoulder bone, which is like your shoulder corner but slightly down from the top, not much. (Same if you have long body or legs - buying brands for long bodies will help them fit better.) I watched over and over again as people bought the wrong fit because it was cheaper then returned it because i didn't fit and moaned 'things never fit me'. It can be hard to tell, but trying on a petite or long brand ('minuet petite', 'long tall sally' etc) will tell you in an instant! NB note i said if your top or your legs - i have a long body and short legs, the opposite of most women and not attractive. But i look a lot better in petite trousers and long top, it helps not hinders. I learnt my shape only through working there. And how to fold clothes really fast correctly, and the importance of knitwear and jacket hangers in not ruining your stuff, and linen creases just hanging up, you don't need to even wear it. And nothing else.
For me it's helpful when I see the same dress on different body types. Then the the differences in body types are standing out. Like your videos!
Wow, this explains so much. It is so frustrating seeing someone looking fantastic in an outfit but when you try it you look weird
Finally, I can appreciate my football-player shoulders (FN). If they're good enough for a 90's supermodel, after all....
It's also the body type comic book heroines have!! (Wonder woman is draw that way)
you look sooo good with this hair and this blouse!
Jesus, you look so perfect in this video! Lovely outfit, super cute hair and your make-up... no comments.
Lidiane Silva ikr!!
I always looked at girls like Lucy Hale and Sarah Hyland and though “we don’t exactly look alike, but there’s something in common.” And now I know. When you said “small and puffy” I started laughing so much, ‘cause that’s exactly how I feel
This is the most respectful video about women’s bodies I’ve ever seen ❤️
Your makeup and clothing have gone from cute to very flattering and gorgeous. I can see your understanding is progressing by leaps and bounds. I appreciate your work. I find your videos very relaxing and learn a lot. I feel better able to handle when my two nieces who are sister look very different from one another complain about their looks. Thank you.
Aah I finally understood why round necks and curly hair look the best on me. Every time I watch a body types video of yours, I understand at least one of my mistakes. I'm a romantic and it's hard for me to get stuff since mostly fashion is only showcased with and for dramatics and naturals. I used to think there's something wrong with me but your first body type video that I watched a year back, made me realise it's not my fault at all. Thank you so much for this ❤
Yes! I find it difficult to get clothes for romantic type, I get really frustrated while shopping
Amy Das try stores that cater to vintage style clothing
Agreed. I am so fed up with mainstream fashion. Like, the only thing I can buy in shops are stretchy basic t-shirts and sometimes I am lucky with high waisted jeans. Other than that, I have quite a lot of trouble...
yes! same! I look soo good in a well-fitted white t-shirt with a ROUND neck and as soon as I slip in sth oversized it makes me look fat and bulky. I love feminine stuff (flowery dresses with waist and boob emphasis) but I'm afraid to present myself like that, because it comes off as "too feminine" and too dolled up.
silvermoonshineX3 I agree! I'm a Soft Gamine and I feel like my body type is suited for a more dressed up style of casual.
Maybe it's because I'm tired but I'm about to cry about how body positive this video is. Seeing you talk about how great they would look in certain things while showing pictures of celebs in sometimes ways magazines would trash them is so amazing and I don't know why I get so emotional. Your simplicity about everything is beautiful: here's what I see, here's what would be even better on you.
I have to be honest I still don't really know what body type I am but it is quite inspiring and uplifting!
Dammit: miss one class and suddenly women arent fruit any more !!
I never realized that the weight of the fabric made such a big difference difference, that explains a lot (I'm romantic)
marshma llowsxoxo what does weightless fabric mean?

I didn't even think of that but you are so right!!!
"-this is not what we'll be doing." You got me hooked there.
I love how the Natural section wasn't just a collection of boho outfits 👏🏻 thanks for the inspiration
Aly, it would be amazing if you would creat some kind of chart download with an example for each type, something we can download and see visually the types organized
Yes I'm thinking about it! Will do that as soon as I have some more time! )
Thank you! ))
Was this ever done?
Is the chart available?
This series made me understand my body, I used to get so stressed with my weight loss journey because I was aiming to look like a romantic body type when I’m a natural, now I have a way more realistic goal 😄
I really love this video because she didn't tell how to "alter" the image of your body type, like tall to look short, curvy to look thin as she has said. She's giving ideas on how to make your clothes harmonizes with your silhouette. In composition, having a curve in the middle of straight line will contrast each other, giving probably unwanted attention. But if you put straight lines with straight lines, it will create harmony. Of course you can use this if you actually want to make contrast to something. You must learn the rules before you break it!
When you wash clothes and the color goes away is called "faded" ❤💗
Aly, it would be helpful if you could make some boards on your pinterest for each of the body types. Whenever you see a good example of one or the other you can pin it for us to see. Just a suggestion that I think would help:) Love all your videos!💕
I'm still confused.
She has a video that explains how to find your body type 🤣
Me too Romantic the last one but ! I look terrible on tapered pants as my legs are heavy ...I’m pear shaped this I understand . Narrow shoulders , small waste , Heavy legs , round butt. It’s easy to know how to dress for Pear 🍐 sorry I’m not so certain about the smaller Romantic style . Cheers
i think i’m a soft gamine, and i was happy when i found out that i’ve been wearing the right clothes for my body type :) thank you
me too!!!
I as well. Always have to have ankles showing, even though I have shorter legs, I just know it looks way better. And wrists too! Always have long sleeves pushed up. Like tomboy look. Feel weird in more feminine clothes. Very interesting.....
Accurate doesn't mean аккуратный. I think you mean "tidy" and "neat". Accurate is in fact "precise, well-aimed", better not to be used for describing appearance.
P.S. You're videos are great and informative, anyway 💝
Yes, I was thinking she might want to be saying "polished" and "well fitting"!
I just found your comment and it answers my question above. Thanks for your insight as "accurate" seemed strangely "in-acc___" lol
You speak so sweat. You always sound like you are reading a poem.
Just watched your whole series and I think it finally clicked! I was always so confused about my body type but I think I actually figured it out! Thank you!
I love how positive you are about all the different body types! You're setting a great example for the way we should be thinking :)
THANK YOU FOR THE DIVERSITY IN YOUR PHOTOS! It is so nice to see women of different skin tones in these videos. Know that we appreciate you making the effort! It really helps put things into perspective! You're amazing!
Sidenote, do you also think it is possible to use people who have larger frames with more fat, and muscle? Also those that are very thin? Also, maybe you can do a video on more ethnic features and where they fall into these categories? Like, those with undefined nose bridges, and big lips? It makes it easier to visualize!
Thanks again!

it's lovely the tender and dreamy way you talk about each body type.
Finally a styling video that doesnt try to turn me into an hourglass!! I hate how most of these videos try to make all bodies resemble only one type. So well made, congrats!! I feel like my fashion third eye has been open

Vibrant/strong colors- classics

I really like your speech, your intonation, and the way you describe the types. I listen and enjoy! Each type is so amazing and unique!

Everytime I hear your voice it brings me calm, such a good feeling. Thank you for the video, the playlist is helping me to deal with my self confidence.
This is the first time I’ve ever understood how to style for my body type. Thank you for making this series!
This was by far the best video of this type I have ever seen. The focus on underlying bone structure as well as the form of the overlaying flesh really hit at the reality of body types. The focus in the weight of the fabrics really was brilliant. 👍🏻
What about my body type shapeless potato shack?

Girl I'm loving your entire look in this video. GORGEOUS!
I can't look at the photos in the video because I'm magnified by you, you look amazing!
I literally paused the video right when it started to send a screenshot of you to my friend. Your look is so elegant and beautiful and it makes me want to dress all fancy.
I had to smile when you mentioned the tailored shirt dress. It's one of my favorite pieces since my teen years. Soft classic here
I always enjoy your videos. So much amazing tips. And I love the humorous parts too🤗
I am so happy I found your videos! I'm desperately trying to change my look and dress in a way that flatters my body. Finding clothes was always hard because of certain stereotypes concerning body image. Going for the classic look was the right choice for me. It's no wonder that I always liked that style, my wallet is now dreading my next shopping outing. Thank you so much!

If you ever see this know that this has helped me with my life so much. My mom passed away when i was young so i’ve never really had a help with fashion or my body and you have helped me more than you know so thank you.
The advice on classic was super helpful. So many styles look wrong or 'too much' on me, it can be so frustrating.
The fact that she shows different weights for each is so nice Bc that’s always the hardest part of figuring this stuff out
This look on you is absolutely stunning! Your hair, hair colour and the hair style. And the top.
I feel like none and all of these at the same time
I am so relaxed while listening to you speak and I learned so many new things about myself. Great video!
Flamboyant Gamine here, and I've NEVER been so proud of my body type before! Thank you! It also explains alot about the types of styles I gravitate toward. Rewatching this just because you look stunning. Most definitely my favorite look for you 😊

Wow! I've been trying to figure out what makes something work on my body and what makes something look bad, and this video was really insightful! I knew certain styles or shapes didn't look good on me, but I never knew why until now. Thank you so much! I always hated the whole 'pear, apple, hourglass, square, etc.' body shape thing you see anywhere else. This is about a thousand times more helpful and less judgemental. I love the way you explain things. Thank you so much!
It’s fun to watch these when I already know what i like to wear and looks good on me
I think I'm a mix of Classic and Natural but more on the Classic side.
This really helped me know a lot about my type.
Thank you❤🙏
Thank you for sharing this information! It makes so much sense. I would often advise my friends to wear the things that look most flattering for their body types, but it was always something I could just see with my eye, but couldn’t explain it. Your explanation also made me feel so much better about my own body type. Even at my lowest weights and smallest sizes (like womens US 4/5), I was never “lean.” Always fleshy. I thought there was something wrong with me. I’m much more comfortable with my body shape now. I think every woman should embrace her own! (As well as wear what they want, too:)) I absolutely adore your hairstyle in this video as well. You look gorgeous!
Completely unrelated but I just found your music and your voice is AMAZING
I also love the perspective you have on beauty- it’s super inclusive and really lovely to hear ♥️♥️
Aly, you made me love my body type. I am still not sure what is it, most probably romantic, but the way you talk about them all is just so respectful and gives confidence
