In my opinion, the piano was able to fill in the guitarists spot. I generally cant hear the guitar either way though lol

Every time I hear one of the trumpet section do a solo, what strikes me most is the tone. Many college age players are obsessed with range, and ignore their tone. It ain't all about the double C, folks. Miles had average range, and rarely played above high C. But his tone.....
