Out of all the trucks I would take this one but I would definitely have to make it a dump bed as the only way this truck would work for me and I would do airbags In the ASS End of it then the truck would be worthwhile doesn't I'll go get a plow for the front of this then it's a money maker I don't care about the diesel fuel it will make moneyPlease comment back

All these trucks came with NDT-900×20 Tires from AM General.If you find a M809 Series 5 Ton Truck with a different Tire Set,it's Aftermarket.Some were Hard Tops and some were Soft Tops,same way with getting one that has a Bumper or one with a PTO Winch.

Can this drive without chains? sure however vehicles like this really come into their own with chains its essentially like adding studs to your winter tires, they just bite alot better with chains. The company I work for we deliver new decked trucks (piggybacked) generally 3 or 4 trucks at a time. Most bigger than this one and when you get into heavy duty 6x6 or even double steer type trucks it generally becomes a weight issue these types of trucks like alot of weight and need a decent bit for them to excel in certain aspects.
Does this truck have a lift kit? What size tires does this have? I have a 70 kaiser m54a2 and would love to put the 53s on without having to remove the 3rd axel!

Tires are to big. They dont fit under the fenders and they will block if the suspension compresses. The diffs will also quit after a short time offroading, or with a havy load.

The NDT-900×20 Tires on the older 5 Ton Trucks and Deuce & A Half are horrible,they can't handle extreme off roading like Super Single Tires can,so installing them is a improvement,the only negative result is slower speed.
If that m818 was fully restored it would be a fifth wheel tractor trailer and not a cargo trailer on the back. M818 was a semi never made with a cargo bed therefore it's not restored it's modified
Those are 53/1200×20 Tires,they fit even on a M35A2.Those 5 Ton Trucks can also handle 49/1400×20 Tires,my M813A1 and my former M923A1 had them.5 Ton Trucks can even fit on 1600×20 Tires,at the highest size,and those are rated for 15 Ton Trucks.

The front wheels are mounted backwards to keep the wide tires from scrubbing.Flipping the wheels around created more backspace.

Those Tires actually improve it from chances to get stuck and upgrade it's capability of off roading on rough terrain.
