Priviledged to have been part of the team at the beginning of the Gaydon site when the DB9 was developed and launched in 2003. Closely followed by the V8 Vantage.. We hit a volume of 17,000 Aston Martins by the end of 2007.
Due to the effort made by myself as part of that team I was allowed to retire early at the age of 62 and hand over to the next generation. Long may Aston Martin thrive. A real priviledged to have been part of that journey. Thank you. 😊

The DB 4 is my all time favourite car the early series. I remember when I first saw one in the old showroom going to Olney to swim in the river Ouse coming up from London. when I was about 8 years old always loved them
I thought every automotive company must be buying competitors cars for comparison while making their own one. But Aston Martin is the only one I have seen accepting it on public forum. Respect for that🙏🏻🙌🏻

The Vantage is my dream car. I currently own a "poor man's" Aston Martin, Jaguar F TYPE R. As much as I love it, my heart still yearns for the Vantage. One of these days.

Great show. Don't really care about how some amateur drivers do on a race track though
.. "The driver immediately takes off at full throttle." *clip shows the driver slowly accelerating out of the pit lane before going full throttle at the entrance to the track*
Yeah, that was the tipping point for me... What an absolute lack of the basic knowledge from anyone who write the script. Full throttle on pit limiter and with speed limit in whole pit lane... Cringe to watch. And that a shame. Because actually video footage and production is absolutely fantastic. But it's painful to listen. So, pay rise for video crew, termination notice with immediate effect for writer. And anyone who approves that BS.

I would like to see a video about the people that designed this car and the engineers that were on it too...The machinery that moves the body around is out of this world.
Id like to see them make a car like the old days but have high tech features. Nothing like old school.
In the video, it shows them making/restoring older cars-get one of those, maybe.
Dude want vintage with new tech, those restored ones are usually left as original as possible, yet to see in restoration company modernising them l think that would devalue the vintages@@R.U.1.2.

Super documentary. As a point of idiosyncratic English pronunciation "Warwickshire" is pronounced "Worricksheer". (Where the 'o' is as in 'hot'). Also the reference to 'Brits' is as objectionable (to Englishmen) as referring to Americans a 'yanks'.
I've been into cars my whole life. Except for the motor, this is my favorite car in the world. I'd put a V8 or something else in there. NA or supercharged. No turbos.
But... the V8 Vantage is... V8...

A neighbor of mine in East Boston Ma, has a DB 11 and occassionaly we'd go out in the mornings on a weekend before it got busy and do what I called Tunnel runs. If you know Boston you'd know there are tunnels here. Many of them. Man, that car sounded so throaty and had a nasty growling roar, but in the tunnel it sounded like a monster breaking out of it's chains and getting closer to you at a fast rate. It was so much fun, and I miss it. Hope you read this Ryan and are doing well in FLA. 😂

Let’s give a professional unbiased comment. The documentary was enjoyable. Loved seeing them work on the classics and was impressed with the checking for issues system for brakes, cobbled roads, interior noises etc for new cars.
BUT, the VO (voice over) was obviously not recorded while in the presence of the video. The VO was incorrect several times, it didn’t match the footage or was blatantly incorrect at times.
Being from the UK, using the word “Brit” at the start of the documentary I guess is ok, but continuously throughout the whole thing got old very fast till it was like nails on a chalkboard. If a documentary was made in the UK about GM and continuously used the word “yank” how would watchers from the US feel? This alone almost gave an unprofessional feel to the documentary and the work that went in it.
Enjoyed it, but production needs to sort their act out :0)
I see most of their cars daily as the factory is five miles down the road.
I just wish this so-called British Brand would make their own engines like they used to do.

At 2:30, the “voice-over” person says that it takes about 200 hours of labour to build the car. That’s ONE person working for 25 eight hour days. 200 hours is NOTHING. The true number must be in the tens of thousands.

Excellent machine. If I every fell into money, the first high performance automobile would be my order for a black on tan Aston Martin. Model to be named later. Just a dream. It would give me a release because I would buy up land to form a retirement farm for old animals that have been abused or abandoned. I would also open free health clinics for anyone. Got insurance, great. No insurance, that's ok also. One day a week I would go for a ride to remind me of how blessed I am.

Lovely cars: a few years ago I had the opportunity to drive a DB9 (with its V12 made from two Ford Ecotec V6s in Cologne!) on the Autobahn and enjoyed it. However, building cars is not so easy and the world changes. Since this video was made, Andy Palmer has been given his walking papers and a group of new investors (primarily Canadians with too much money) have come to rescue a company whose stock market valuation has fallen nearly 90% since listed in October 2018. I wish them luck but Ferrari they are not.

@@justina9914 I didn't purchase this car for the infotainment. Android auto / apple carplay aftermarket has been installed. I'm old fashioned so my opinion might be biased but not having plastic everywhere as with most other cars is pleasant.
