I feel like everything in Simon Pegg's career has been leading up to him playing Chamberlain in this. He must have been practicing that whimper for many years, it is exactly like the original actor.
When I first heard his voice I legit thought, “Oh! They brought back the original actor!” Simon Pegg did such a great job.

I figured she'd know. she came back with a "mud sculpture" and it no shit, look EXACTLY like him. well, if Hup had a baby with a chia pet.... she used grass for his hair. WAIT..... As someone who grew up with the original Dark Crystal movie, I KNOW these voices. The cast for Age of Resistance did a remarkable job. Each element of this series has been crafted with care to the spirit of the original while adding its own new mark.
I hope and trust this level of craftsman ship (because that's what it is!) continues with each season until they finish.
I agree. I think Aughra and Chamberlain are spot on with their movie versions. Lisa Henson (Jim Henson's daughter) is Executive Producer on this show, so I'm sure she's will make sure this series turns out well.
Season 2 has been greenlighted and the show is a success!

The cast is top tier, but shoutout to Jason Isaacs, Simon Pegg, Mark Hamill, Keegan Michael Key. I didn't recognize their voices, they gave them so much character while staying true the original voices. Amazing talent
I liked that Lena Heady and Mark Strong played such noble and well-intentioned warriors after seeing them as despicable villains in Game of Thrones and Shazam, respectively.
Mark Strong was pretty ruthless in Kick Ass as well

Simon Pegg does an amazing job recreating the Chamberlain's voice! Chamberlain was my favourite skesis as a kid and I couldn't believe it wasn't the original voice actor!

Omg I didn't know Andy had it in him?! One of my favorite parts from the series and the funniest. I love how the two halves are famous snl cast members that were on the show together. Everyone did fantastic! I love how Lena looks like her puppet she voices a bit. So who VOICES HUP?

@@bbcversus I don't have a source but the creators said in an interview if the series did well and people wanted a second season they would make it, and it's done well, more so than they thought and pretty much everyone is asking for a second season, that's the reason they ended the season open ended, to let the community decide whether or not we wanted a second season, a possible release date for the second season is around this time next year

I usually really dislike all-star casts for voice-acting but everyone did fantastic with this. If you're shocked by someone doing a certain voice (which I was for pretty much everyone), I think that is high praise when an actor could so easily rely on name recognition and just recite their lines.

Something that we all have to agree on is the versatility of the actors, there are many of whom I did not recognize their voices or did not even imagine that they could interpret those types of voices. Praise them for the piece of hard work that they give for making this Tv Show a masterpiece and for the amazing crew that make this wonderful world possible. Jim Henson can be proud of this.

In another series, Maudra Fara killed off Deet and Onica. All-Maudra and the Emperor were Death Eaters. Plus Luke Skywalker, Simon Pegg, and the almighty Sigourney Weaver? The person in charge of casting this is in nerd paradise. Brilliant.

This series was honestly just perfect! I feel they missed a few things but they honestly did the original and Jim good justice. I remember seeing the original when I was a kid and wanting to know more about the world of The Dark Crystal and then 15ish years later I got to find out. I hope they continue with the prequel and make it lead up to the events of the movie.

This is my all-time favorite show on Netflix. The detail artwork alone is worthy of watching but then you add all of the phenomenal voice actors and how the puppeteers can bring something to life in such an amazingly, wonderful way and the story plot is incredible. I am very surprised they didn’t include Hup. He’s absolutely one of the top characters in the show. I am also surprised as to how connected I have become to a fictional show of puppets but I’m not embarrassed to say I am a huge fan. I’m trying to think of what would be a good name to call fans of the dark Crystal. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I will say I hope in the second season that somehow someway the darkness can be transferred out of Deet. She’s so selfless and gentle. It just sucks having her having to be the sacrifice. I also love the connection between Deet and Rian. He did just lose Mira but I do see the allure Deet gives off naturally. She is unique, eccentric, beautiful, kind and selfless and very clever what male Gelfling wouldn’t want all of those characteristics. I could go on and on talking about the show that’s why I’m looking for some other fans to share some of their favorites And what word would you use to express a mega fan of the dark Crystal

Everyone talks about how much Simon Pegg sounds like the original Chamberlain (which he does) but I'm surprised no one mentions how amazing Donna Kimball is as Aughra. Seriously, she sounds just like Billie Whitelaw and if I hadn't known she had unfortunately passed away I would've thought it was the same actress.
I'm gutted beyond measure we're not getting series 2. That is a crime against humanity. :-((
