Penang Hill was obviously the first hill station of the British. Many old bungalows were abandoned there. But if a rich person wants to renovate it, I guess it is possible. The funicular train was suppose to be constructed first but the British decided that Hong King's Victoria Peak can get theirs ahead of us. Still ours is the longest funicular in asia. 2km.

From the little that I saw of the abandoned house (wish there were external views) it might just be one that was used as the set of the plantation house in the 1992 film , "Indochine" starring Catherine Deneuve.

There is an old interesting abandoned Craig Hotel near bukit bendera but someone has to guide you there.
