      @@colecarmichael5724 Right! Once upon a time was a MESSED up card. You could always have the Goose for the turn 2 oko xD What a wild standard. I'll never be over the playtest team saying that they never thought people would use Oko's +1 on opponent stuff as removal, there were testing him strictly as a food payoff.
      I dont blame them tho, the playtest team has never been funded enough to have enough people do extensive testing, and they have to test everytrhing from standard to vintage and commander.

    8:30 there is a bug on arena with the end step stop. If you take an extra turn on your end step, you'll start the next turn with what looks like a stop already in place on your end step. This is a visual bug. There is no stop set for you on your additional turn. To set a stop on your end step again, turn the stop off and then on again (lol) between taking extra turns

    • @JonaxII
      @JonaxII Před 6 měsíci +13

      It's all part of the stupid design decision that Arena, in difference to mtgo, doesn't let you put in permanent regular stops, only ones for the current turn cycle. Add that visual bug on top and you get this great situation.

    • @47Mortuus
      @47Mortuus Před 6 měsíci

      Or... you know... hold up interaction?
      Deluge seems kinda meh compared to Planeswalkers that interact AND help you getting advantage during your extra turns without spending mana. Also seems like a poor man's Dig Through Time, especially in this deck Dig is just way better.
      Explore/Growth Spiral and Uro want you to keep up 1 mana spells other than Brainstorm or Swords, like Spell Pierce (more powerful the older the format).
      Either way the main deck only has interaction for creature match ups. Teferi, Time Raveler seems perfect here and with that and the need for at least a few counterspells I don't think there's room for this type of effect anyways.
      You probably want to move some of the untap value to your mana base. Hall of the Storm Giant seems really unnecessary and Seth never cycled those tapped duals (you don't want to in 95% of all cases; 26 lands is pretty light now that thinning is relevant). The tapped Gates that seek a nonland only once for effectively 5 mana are great. They have basic land types, too.

    • @47Mortuus
      @47Mortuus Před 5 měsíci

      Even though all I said still holds true, [[Memory Deluge]] still is very good in this deck, surprisingly, making what I said about it untrue.
      I ranked up to Mythic from Diamond 4 in 2 days with a variant on this deck.
      [[Memory Deluge]] plays out way better than one might think. Timeless is highly interactive format; [[Memory Deluge]] finds answers for you or keeps the infinite turns loop going.
      2 reasons why [[Memory Deluge]] > [[Dig Through Time]]: 1) It doesn't conflict with [[Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath]] 2) it finds you 4 cards out of the top 11 instead of 2 out of 7. What I did not anticipate is the sheer amount of mana [[Wilderness Reclamation]] can produce, especially in multiples. On the flip side the 2 mana difference can decide the game not in your favor if you needed it for casting Nexus, but that almost never comes up at all.
      List:
      SPELLS
      4 Swords to Plowshares
      4 Brainstorm
      4 Growth Spiral
      4 Reprieve
      2 Divine Purge

      4 Nexus of Fate
      PERMANENTS
      2 Teferi, Time Raveler
      3 Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath
      4 Wilderness Reclamation
      LANDS (Mystic Sanctuary is fringe, Minas Tirith instead kinda pops off. Also Misty Ranforest in Timeless Anthology 1 please? then its 4/3/1 or even 4/4/1 aka 9 fetches)
      1 Forest
      1 Island
      1 Plains
      1 Boseiju, Who Endures
      1 Otawara, Soaring City
      1 Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire
      1 Gate to Manorborn
      1 Gate to Seatower

    a few weeks ago I made a comment saying I didn't like two of the decks you had done.
    In this instance, I actually was entertained by you playing a meta deck with meta cards. I think the difference between this and say, the lifegain/explorer deck for example is that this deck is DEGENERATE and has a lot of various interactions and doesn't always play out the exact same way. Nexus is weird because it's the jankiest looking meta deck I've ever had the displeasure of playing vs lol
    I think as long as you don't have to many decks like this in a row, I won't have any issue with you doing meta stuff.
    Again I apologize if I sounded rude back then but since this was a meta deck that I DID enjoy watching, I felt obligated to comment and say you did a great job with this one!
    Also Seth, I'd love to see you brew around a food fight deck with Encroaching Mycosynth!
    I made a blue/green/red deck that made a lot of creature/food/treasure tokens and used training grounds to kill my opponents! if only their was a way to copy food fight itself in standard.

    @MindstabThrull Před 6 měsíci

    One argument I've heard of against other formats having a Restricted list is that it ends up making much of the format look very similar. Once you have enough Restricted cards, it'll become a lot like Vintage, where a common starting point for deck building is "Lotus, 5 Moxen, Sol Ring, Ancestral Recall, Demonic Tutor, Yawgmoth's Will, Time Walk" and that's already nearly 20% of your deck before you've even chosen an archetype - adding four Force of Will (not unreasonable) and now you're at a full 25% of a maindeck. On top of this it doesn't take much to push the list to 50% or more commonly-played Restricted cards, such as Brainstorm and Vampiric Tutor. So if another format gets that ability and hits a critical mass of Restricted cards, the feel is the format would become overly cohesive and only the actual win condition (Tinker-Colossus vs Oath-Atraxa vs Storm, for example) would be different.

      Not really. Ive had my Nexi Stone Brain'd plenty of times. I just make Zombies and especially if it's a blue deck that would play ToT, they have no chance against that and Uro alone.

  • @DrStandaloner

    Nexus goes back into your deck so you can't loop it, obviously. If it went to the grave you could flashback it or add it back to your hand
    (That may have been the dev's idea when making the card)

    • @47Mortuus
      @47Mortuus Před 5 měsíci

      No it was designed to be a 1 of finisher in bad control decks that play creatures or planeswalkers that cant win on their own.
      Obviously creature lands do that job the best but it's nice to have some variation.... I guess

    The main reason this is the most hated card is that you don't win on the spot and you can fizzle so opponent can't just scoop when you start comboing, they have to wait in the off chance you fumble it.

    Field of the dead is probably too slow and fair, only if you want to try and run it as your only plan. Field was so strong that in standard just running field and explore/ramp effects would have been too good for most non-field decks to deal with. Field is probably the strongest plan B or incidental win con a deck can have.
