I'm an old woman, mainly into hard rock music, not enjoying rapp at all. But this trio, especially Suga, changed my mind completely
Same goes for me! I never really understood rap music, but after discovering BTS they've clompletely changed the way I look at it. Now I'm a lot more open to listening not just to rap but also to a wide variety of music without prejudices! And thanks to that I've discovered some awesome songs and artists that I would've never checked out by myself. That's one of the reasons why I love BTS. They help me be a lot more open-minded and liberate me from meaningless restraints that I impose on myself
Same. I listened to it off and on through the years but BTS, CZcams rappers, producers, fans gave me my first real appreciation of it. It really bothers my significant other when I blast BTS's rap or solo mixtapes in the car. 😊💜🔥
relate a lil bit..im just a casual listener of rap depending on lyric and theme only. but bts brings out the true essence of hiphop that was forgotten with new generation.

Same here. I didn’t really love rap. I am a person who focus on lyrics first then the song. After listening to these boys I have grown to be more open to it and open to other artists. I have grown to love these three guys rapping a lot.
I'm a 51 year old woman from New Zealand. RM is my bias, Sugar is my bias wrecker. But Hobi KILLED THIS. This is my favourite from the rap line. Then UGH. I was never into rap until BTS. They slay me. RM raps with his mind, Sugar raps with his emotions and Hobi raps with his body. They analyze, criticize and visualize with their story telling. This always gets me emotional because of the reason Suga wrote it. This song carries their heart.

Jhope's part never fails to give me the chills, his is def my favorite in this song, the emotion and passion he brings... it's just so intense you really feel the lyrics and that's heartbreaking
Suga once said that there is a reason why J.Hope parts in their rap songs come usually as a third act after RM's and Suga's himself and that reason is that no matter how painful and sad and desperate is the moment, there must be always hope at the end.
Yet, in this specific song, I believe that Suga left the last part to J.Hope to symbolize a gloomier meaning: if hope itself can't do anything to solve the situation, well, everybody should think very carefully before taking any decision if a similar turn of events will happen again in the next future.

If you have time, search and watch "BTS MAMA 2018 Artist of the year Full speech eng subs": knowing that the tears that the boys are sharing during that speech are because of that specific, terrible moment in time, you'll understand the enormous scale of that event for them and for Army.
j-hope's part is my favourite. I love everything about it, his emotional, intense delivery and the way he moves to the beat is breathtaking. I have seen probably every fancam of outro: Tear on YT from their two international tours and Hoseok's charisma on stage and his powerful performances left me breathless every time, incredible performer.
Suga mentioned he was working on this melody while they were thinking about disbanding. Suga is very good at creating melancholic songs, i especially like Tomorrow, Let me know, Dear my friend, So far away and Suga's Interlude (collab with Halsey)

J-Hope verse at the end is definitely my favorite part, this performance with this oufit it's iconic! 👍🏻
SUGA said: "the lyrics for Tear were written for the members. When I was writing the melody, at the time, we were deeply contemplating whether we should quit or not. When I played the song for the members we all cried together".
Also RM is saying "Tear" as in crying and SUGA as in ripping something apart.
Describing the melody as "moody" is actually perfect, because Suga worked on the melody for this song when they were actively considering and discussing disbanding. The lyrics and their delivery really hit hard when you think about the fact that they were in the very brink of giving all this up because they were so overwhelmed by how far everything had gone for them. JHope's verse especially is just heartbreaking to me. The line "you are my beginning and my end" is painful when you consider that he once said he gave up his entire youth to BTS and doesn't actually know what he's going to do when it all comes to an end.
All in all, this song is just beautiful and heartbreaking and powerful. You can just feel in this song how desperately they love what they do, and how much they love each other, and how important BTS really is to them. It's def one of my faves of all time.

Damn I love this performance. Suga is my favorite rapper of BTS and one of my favorite members (I think he's right after V/Taehyung) but J-Hope killed this performance too. His Dior outfit is pretty amazing too
I like J-Hope’s part better. His part is the shortest but it’s impactful because of his emotional delivery and I can feel his pain.

The song is actually beautifully balanced between the rappers. It's something that bts does best. They each get a verse, they rotate with each other during each bridge, and they share the chorus BUT rm always says the first line "you're my tear " as in tear you cry, suga always says the next line "you're my tear" as in tear my heart out and j hope says "you're my fear" as in don't ever break up guys i love you so much ahhhhhhhhhh...

All I can tell you is; if you're ever in a massive break up and you need to cry your eyes out, This is the song. I remember reading the lyrics, while listening to Tear & found myself crumpling to the ground, knees now bloodied. The lyrics were my life. The life that I was barely surviving. I needed these words so badly. I need to see & hear, why I needed to leave. People couldn't tell me. I wouldn't have listened. I needed to find it on my own. I needed to feel everything that was happening to me. This song was the mirror for me.

@@Hotshortie my apologies, I became a fan in 2015, I said what I said due to a bunch of people thinking this song is about a girl or a break up, I really had no idea you were a fan.
You got your wish with J-Hope. This is iconic. It's fire for sure but it's also known as the immaculate black Dior set, as all seven members were decked out. It's interesting to note that RM is speaking of tears that are cried while Suga is speaking about something being torn and then J-Hope completes it with fear. The most intense thing about this for ARMYs is that Suga wrote it when they were considering disbanding. All the members cried when they heard it and I suppose that's when they doubled down and decided to conquer the world.
Oh my this is my fave song of bts. love em all but suga hits me hard. I can connect with him emotionally. Hes my bias.

When this song first came out nobody knew what it was really about until Suga spoke about it as mentioned below - after that it was over, ARMY was finished... 💔
Love Yourself: Tear is such a wild ride - so many genres! It was my 1st full comeback I had as an ARMY! I cried so much with "The Truth Untold" (Vocals), "Fake Love" (Group - title track, I recommend!), & this outro - I didn't even have translations during my 1st listen ... but there's so many fun, upbeat tracks too, like "So What", "134340", "Anpanman" - all group tracks, & "Airplane pt. 2" ("Airplane" is a J-Hope solo! I recommend!)
I feel like you'd like all the songs mentioned 🤔🙂 I also think you'd like RM's "Mono" - it's his 2nd mixtape. It's very different from his first, but very good as well.

This is the rapline song that makes me cry 100% of the time when I hear it. For the vocal line equivalent, try "Truth Untold" and "House of Cards." I also recommend V's "Singularity," which doesn't sound sad by the music but the lyrics are very moody. As Jimin says, "You nice, keep going!" 💜
They three are just out of world as our boy Suga said k-pop catagory is not enough for them and to hold there talent. I was not a rap music fan but my man RM makes me fell in love with rap songs and hip hop. Then he became my bias and still he is. His flow , word play and lyrics everytime get me. I feel very emotional when Suga sing emotional lyrics because the things he went through I can connect with him. Our sunshine j-hope the true show stealer of this song. People should appreciate j-hope more for his rapping skills. After RM only j-hope flow amazed me and engage me in song. Rm and j-hope can also rap faster and Suga's flow is also amazing.

The best rap performance in my opinion, maybe bcs Ive been a BTS stan for awhile n this was Suga writing when they were thinking of disbanding so it has a very sad n emotional toneto it. I absolutely love this song so much that I have "Tear" tattooed behing my right ear.
J Hooooopppppeeeeee! So much emotion in the 3 in this song. Suga wrote it about when they were thinking of disbanding. He played it for the members and they all cried. They had exceeded all their dreams.s as they grew to heights never expected. They were all completely worn out. They each then wrote from their perspective tge feeling that the disbandment brought up in them. For RM it was tears, the sadness. For Suga, the tearing apart of his heart and for J Hope the fear of the ending.
RM and Suga are really amazing but for me J Hope coming with do much emotion, practically crying in his verse, just drove home the feelings they had been going through. ARMY only found out much later that they had considered disbanding. So grateful that they all decided to continue 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Hobi is gorgeous lyricist and is able to write deep lyrics just like all of them. However Hope world doesn't have "moody" sound (except for Blue side probably). J-Hope's songs are thoughtful and lyrics are actually sad, but the music itself is happy and optimistic - his music is all about contrasts and that's what makes him special as artist and attracts people to his music
This is not the first time that ARMYs have ignored the recommendation for J-Hope songs And in more than one place I saw this disregard And if someone says he likes J-Hope's singing style,Fans come out from everywhere and they recommend it to RM and Suga This fan feels like he chose the wrong person because of fans' pressure on him

This song is one of my favorites. I love the backing track and production, and of course, the emotion in their voices. Definitely check out "Louder Than Bombs", another favorite. It's moody and gorgeous (lyric video only, no MV czcams.com/video/I1Pcj3CHun8/video.html ). Most loved BTS songs by the fandom are their melancholic tracks like Spring Day, Whalien52 or Blue and Grey. We call Spring Day the “queen” and BTS know that it is ARMYs favorite. Aside from the 3 I mentioned, I would also recommend you listen to Epilogue: Young Forever, Zero O’clock (vocalists only) and Louder Than Bombs. These songs are sad but hopeful at the same time.
