I was confused about the bent links myself, but youthankfully cleared my mind of how they are to go. Thanks now I can finish up my newest rc crawler.

    Great video. Cool truck.
    vice grips hold links well.
drill chuck fits over ballends. Start by hand then slowly screw with drill. Boom.

I have been wanting to add a non-Axial rig to our fleet, almost built an Element raw builders kit, but I think this Gatekeeper is the Element that will tinally suck me in....

Tip with rod links. do both ends at once, get each end started, then slip a allen wrench through ball end and tighten down, the cool thing is both ends even themselfs out due to tension.

I think the front lower links are supposed to be oriented where the bend is pointing up towards the cockpit. Element advertises them as "high clearance" so the bend is supposed to create more clearance or something. Good honesty in this review. Interesting that you're a bit skeptical, as I feel I'm the same way. Some interesting aspects to this kit. I'd also like to see an IFS version of the kit. I'm debating if I should wait to see if an IFS kit comes (maybe with the improved hard plastics) out or not.

ferry collider I thought so too I just can’t find a picture that shows it. And the one I sort of saw I couldn’t tell. I’ll find out and fix them.

I use shock shaft pliers to hold the links
Definitely wanna build one using the IFS as a pre-runner style Baja truck even then it probably needs a bit wider stance not so much wider axels maybe just a different offset wheel

Assemble your links using shock shaft pliers (to hold the links) and there are also tools that key into the rod end and provide a handle you can hold onto. www.thingiverse.com/thing:4345700
