Scotty heads out with good Mate Gary Brown and his Dad for a day fishing the shallows for Whiting.
It prime time over the summer months to target Whiting across the flats so Scotty and his Dad challenge Gary to see if Lures will out fish Bait on the day.
With windy conditions the guys head into Whiting territory fishing The Port Hacking River for the day and what a great day it was.

What a beautiful spot and some lovely fish there as well.
What a shame that the basin was sealed off after that storm. Tried for some whiting many times after that storm but never got anything. Mangroves and everything are all dead. At least now it's not sealed off anymore so may give it a go again!

Hmmm, might try up there in my kayak sometime soon............bit of a paddle to get there though. One rod rigged up with worms or nippers and one with lure maybe?
Carol great mid week spot only, try say high water at 11am that way you can work your way up in the Yak early and fish all the way to the end and back should be a good outing. good luck and catch you soon.

Hi Scotty, I have tried the Maianbar area a few times now with that same Jackson lure & Sugapens with not a single hit. I don’t know why the whiting at Maianbar don’t respond to top water lures? Would you know why?

I've found catching whiting on top you need a slight current (not dead flat) if that's any help. Or on a windy day even better
Man yabbies are the best bait their for sure . Like this episode do another one in this spot love this video.

Can you catch massive Whiting for a feed at the Beach The Hook And The Cook ? I use a light Sinker and a Small Hook And Yabbies when I Fish for Whiting at the beach and I use 12 lb line or light line than that is this the perfect gear and rig for Whiting Fishing The Hook And The Cook ? Do you have any tips The Hook And The Cook for me on helping me catch massive Whiting off the Beach ? And also The Hook And The Cook What lb line would you use for Whiting Fishing off the Beach the Hook And The Cook would 12 lb line be good for Whiting ?
