There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that fuel sample you took. Metal and debris like that is nothing and that little speck could have gotten in there a million different ways, it’s definitely not cp4 failure. With that said if you seriously plan on keeping that truck for awhile now is the perfect time to preventative maintenance and bulletproofing. That would start with a DPF/DEF/EGR/CCV Delete unless you’ve already done that. Next would be to address the cp4 issue, you can just do the “disaster prevention kit” cp4 bypass so if you have cp4 failure it won’t destroy everything or you can just fix the problem completely by converting to the DCR pump. Lastly whjle you have the engine exposed I would replace the water pump, hoses, idlers/pulleys and upgrade to the low temp high flow thermostat As well as replace/upgrade your up pipes, and down pipe.

You should leave the cab mounts alone for another decade or so until they disintegrate. I just did mine last year and got almost 2" of body lift on my Duramax just from fixing it. Very satisfying.
At this point may as well paint the cab and put some custom color on it make it look mint! ;)

Hey ruddy. Usually I don’t care if you see or read this. But man I need some advise man. Today I became a lead in my department at work. But because everyone left. They fired the main guy in my department a month ago for his attitude which was just a reason to get rid of him cause the supervisor and him didn’t get along. But that caused the other older guy with more knowledge and stuff to quit this morning and move to another place. So I got the lead position and I’ll be getting paid more but I’m alone at work and ngl super depressed about it. I ain’t got no one now to talk to or bounce stuff off at work. So sorry for rambling but like when you let will go or Bailey quit working with you and stuff like how do you mentally try and think about it and shit? Idk how to explain or ask what I am tryna ask I guess. But just tryna get some life advise on how to like not get overwhelmed or really down in the dumps about it
I get overwhelmed and stressed all the time as well. It’s just how you overcome it and face the problems instead of ignoring them. Have to change your mindset and think in positive ways or you’ll just fall into this never ending cycle of being depressed or stressed out. Don’t know if that helps but you’ll get through it man! We all have our down moments but the strong ones bounce back!

Its called Backyard Broncos. They are in Canada. They find over priced cars on craigslist. Then then contact the owners and low ball them. Its great
I’ve seen cp4’s fail with no glitter bomb or metal shavings you need to pull the volume control valve on top of the pump check for metal there but if no metal is found you can replace the cp4 by itself before total catastrophic failure

I don’t think that’s a lot of shavings yet to say it’s junk, it’ll definitely be a fuck load more if it was trashed. If you want to be safe upgrade to a DCR pump, 2k upgrade but you’ll avoid the biggest headache with those engines.

I’d take your injectors out to get a clean and test on them and see if any are out of performance. Would also tell you if they are full of metal.
Have JT do a delete & tune so you can eliminate emissions and the need to run DEF. You’ll notice a tremendous increase in power and fuel mileage. Of course you’ll need to register it in Utah or Florida but that’s easily done.
