Damn - my man spent 4h+ to rate every item in Binding of Isaac, before repentance came out. Now there are new items and synergies so everything changes .... we need another 6h+ video egg

the cognitive dissonance I have between my willingness to watch 90 minute movies versus watching something literally 3 times that length is absurd
I don’t understand why this happens either I’m the exact same like so many people here
I think it's because when you decide to watch a movie you have to commit to pay close attention to it so that you get immersed in what is, most of the time, an unfamiliar world/setting. This is a lot easier to digest, more familiar and you even have the possibility to watch it on and off without losing enjoyment. That's how it is for me.

Already knew what this was before I even clicked the timestamp. Athame had NL completely unhinged it was absolutely wonderful
@@cartmansnipples Exactlyy. And not just in Greed Mode, but specially in Greed Mode. It was a discount Scat Man because you essentially got half or a full heart of damage for a 15% chance of a black heart, which spawned lots of times, once for every 7 enemies killed. You could choose to take damage in a room full of enemies and get not just life but black hearts, which deal damage, or you could just get hit by something and probably get a black heart. And it was just a 1 heart container deal, I absolutely took it in every run. It was so good they nerfed it, completely eliminating the black hearts effect in Repentance, and now it's just a Maw of the Void when you take damage. NL will never experience the raw power of Athame.

@@OshawottLuke It was one of the best 1 heart deal items out there. NL just never experienced it, yep. Athame on something like Super Envy is just crazy good. Almost wins the run in that spot.
Not to mention the one advantage it had over Maw was x3 times more likely to spawn black hearts. Not saying it was better than Maw, of course.
Holy... I did not expect the tier-list arc to have this kind of season finale.

It's like the easiest A tier item ever, One room of flies and it spawns like 5 demon hearts. I think the egg's brain rot got to him on this one. But regardless, placing it in D is hilarious.
@@x10018ro Any item that incentivizes taking damage is C tier at best, change my mind. It doesn't always generate hearts, it can cause you to take bad damage on purpose and just die.

It can turn bad damage into an upside with the damage ring alone, but see there it spawned 2 demon hearts, that's almost worth it already, potentially from a single use. If that happens two or three more times during a run, It's done dude. Who needs book of fucking revelations, if you get 10 demon hearts off Athame during a run. You'll get hit eventually anyways, so whats the fuss.

This man makes the 4,5 hour effort to talk about his opinion on every. single. item. in a game, and proceeds to not make the 5 minute effort to cut out the bathroom break. Honestly it's why I love the man, he's got his priorities in order.
Kinda amazing how repentance changed almost everything the egg complained about: secret room now holds tons of broken items, angel deals are worth more than devil deals on average, familiars got buffed, many mediocre items also got a little buffed too.

Take a shot every time NL says they added 10,000 items that do nothing. I wonder what a post-Repentence list will look like a year from now, now that they've added more items like eye drops and stapler.
To be fair eye drops is actually kinda unique, it's not a flat tears up, it only increaes the fire rate in one eye.
NL's idea of Glass Cannon returning your HP after finishing the room is actually really good, then it would be a cool item to use

out of everything that should piss me off about this video, the one thing that does is the fact that Continuum (Spectral + Range + Recursive) is in D while Ouija Board (Spectral and *FUCKING NOTHING ELSE* at all) is in C tier above it.

I think Cancer is almost a run-winning item. Three spirit hearts is huge AND wafer effect is one of the best thing you can have in the late game. It's the difference between taking 12 hits to die on Delerium versus taking 23 hits after it procs.

NL getting angry about Athame is the kind of content that makes watching a 4 hr video worth it.
Athame is a won run item that suffers from only appearing when the run is won anyway and NL not knowing it drops WAY more demon hearts than maw of the void. Compost was also done a little dirty (haha) because it's way more consistently game winning than he thinks but it's also probably a little boring to stock batteries on a floor and then never worry again.

Eve’s Mascara is the must underrated item ever, its the only damage multiplier that doesn’t affect other multiplier items like sacred heart or magic mushroom, its just a permanent Crown of Light. Sure the first floors are painful but it’s worth it
