- In this video I decided it was time to do some renovation work on the reflection pool that I built a few years ago. I this video I make some improvements to the structure, the display and the water quality. I also wanted to relocate it and also lift the height so that I was more comfortable to sit at.
In part two I will take some pictures of birds using my updated reflection pool.

Hi Darrell. You did a great job on the reflection pool. The black dye looks very effective. We’re looking forward to seeing your photos next week. Thanks Jon and Sandra.
Thanks. It is much better in this location and I did get some pleasing photos.
You did a fantastic job there, Darren. The pool looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing the images you get.
Thanks 👍
Nice one thanks for sharing and creating plus a top tip with the black dye ✌️🙏👍
The black dye is very effective.

Thanks 👍
Fantastic as always
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for sharing Darrell. some nice tips look forward to next week's video.
Thanks for watching!
great video a fantastic job there, Darren
Glad you enjoyed it
Some great tips as I’m thinking of building one of my own.
You should!
This is fabulous, thank you for sharing. I don't really have room in may garden but maybe I could squeeze in a smaller one.
I would think carefully a out making it any smaller. Without the length you may have to take photos at a steeper angle to avoid the front and this will mean the reflection won't be as good and you might see the bottom.
Great video! First time viewer and I just subscribed. I have a Nikon Z6II as well and have been getting into Bird Photography. I love the reflection pool Idea. I am looking forward to the next video where you show it in action. Any good tips on getting a pop bird blind?
Welcome aboard! There are lots of types of pop up hides. I've had two now which have both been the same. I like the combined chair and hide set up. I left my first permanently set up outside for about a year until I got my shed. (I would suggest doing this)
Hi Darrell, where did you purchase your purspect sides from please, hope you don't mind me asking. Thanks shaun
I can't remember where I got it other than I did a google search abought it from a company I found on the internet.
Hi Darren in one of your videos you used a black dye I asked before and you replied what it was but I've lost your reply if you could forward again would be very much appreciated
it came from amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07BQVG7DM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
@DarrellOakdenPhotography thanks Darren
That see through Perspex is not a good idea your making the birds come for a drink and then subjecting them to a hazard to fly into They will see the water and fly right into it . Very bad idea and dare i say a bit cruel. Reflection pool is excellent but the sides NOOO. If your going to encourage birds to come to a reflection pool make it safe for them to do it not put hazards in the way just for a sake of a photo that isn't really how ethical photographers do things . No photo is ever worth harming birds
