That's kind of a Porsche thing. Kind of silly, but most of the guys who can afford to join the 911 Club are of that generation that finds that cool.
One of my favorite episodes so far! The guys from Sharkwerks are really cool and talented. This Porsche is phenomenal and so well-crafted. I love how they used Carillo rods and tossed the stock titaniums. Great job, guys.
@Sharwerks...you should look at Inconel rather than SS as an alternative to Ti...Inconel has a much higher tensile strength than Ti but is almost as light...F1 uses it for their exhaust and it was developed by U.S. Defense contractors for use in High Performance military jet turbines and other parts.

This is cool for me. My daily driver is a 2007 997 SharkWerks 650 Turbo, yet I've never met the guys or even knew what they look like. This makes me feel like if I ever had an issue it wouldn't be a problem to call them. Well done!

"only the manual ones are our favourites" ...Yup I like that quote and that screams REAL CAR GUYS !! How many times does Jay Leno also ask for a manual tranny option when its not available in a car. Real car guys for sure. That is the last greatest Porsche ever made (997 gen and then the GT3 RS) and SharkWerks, you guys just made it that much better. Awesome work guys and I love your passion for all things cars or Porsche and I wish you the best, same to you as well Sir Jay Leno. Car guys and driver's cars are both a dying breed and it saddens me everyday to think about it.

As a person who has driven nothing but manual shifts, I'll be damned if I can see the attraction.
Hey guys. I just wanted to know if you've got something going on with a 991 7 speed manual carrera/S. The new 991 turbo and gt3 are FAR from being puristic cars as they rely too much on technology for a fast lap around the track. The base carrera/S seems to come with a 7MT which I do like very much, but do you guys have any plans to add some of your sweet touches to it in the near future? I'd love to see a modded 991 Porsche Carrera S 7MT kick butt on a track and be a daily driver.
647killa unfortunately we do not have anything like that for the DFI based engines no;(
I hate to be rude but i don't like attitudes like yours, sure a lever connected directly to the gears is wonderful.... but paddles are faster, and when you're dealing with a car that has the level of performance the GT3's offer, i think i'd choose paddles over a traditional manual. I don't want to be the limiting factor of the car, and if i can bang out those shifts faster with paddles... then i think i deserve it to the car, this rocket ship on wheels, to go with the paddles.
I just love the color combination. It really stands out. It is one killer ride.

I have been a fan of SharkWerks since first seeing that ZKERMIT on CZcams. This new car looks and sounds awesome. Way out of my price range, but I can watch it and dream. Congrats on getting on JLG, looks like Jay really liked it!

the hans mezger engine is our favorite. Amazing that you can run 1000hp in turbo form or do this with the NA gt3 set up.

Jay is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to cars, that,s why I'm surprised he referred to Hesketh Racing logo @ 0:57 as little teddy bear shirt. That was filthy rich baron Lord Hesketh's racing logo from formula 1 racing in the early 1970's. The 24 and Hunt are for Racing legend James Hunt in the number 24 Hesketh car.

I grew up in Provo, Utah when Robert Redford buzzed around town in a 911. His sister in law was a classmate, she would let us know when he was on a TV show, the Virginian among them. That was the first cool German car I had ever sen, bright red and what a beautiful sound

I have heard a lot of great things from the Sharkwerkes guys, didn't know they Made their own crank shaft. Just goes to show that they go all out, that exhaust sound fantastic and is more durable than the factory one... Amazing!

hah you and us both! I love that shogun! James (the engine builder here) actually has a 904 built by the same guy "Chuck Beck" who built that Shogun!

That's Not the 997 GT3 RS. That's the 911 GT3 RS Version. I now the 997 version In one game. It's nfs Nitro. It's the Luxurious Car so you should play the game

The right way to tune a car. This one I would buy and not be afraid to use. The "Feel" is still there. So good work.

Leave it for us Americans to take something thats more expensive than it needs to be, more sophisticated then we want it to be, more complicated then it has to be and hotrod it make it simpler, make it better, make it faster, make it have more character.
Watched it when it first came out. After watching it again, looking at the rear spoiler; and then look at the one on the new 2015 991 GT3 RS. There is a lot of similarities there. This is over a year previous.
So far I love everything about that car, It sounds as good as it looks. Absolutely fabulous!

Porsche are not normally my thing, but that is lovely! The paint is very reminiscent of the Gulf colours.. Sounds sweet too!

cheers kenneth... well tool steel can actually be light although not as light as the ti we took out. However with the lighter crank and pistons etc... we make it back and then some. The reason we voted off the titanium was it can stretch and wanted something that would last long and be more reliable.

Chris Morga thanks man! It's really as simple as we _love_ Sharks and one of the owners has been obsessed with them since he can remember. There are so many weird shark things/trinkets here at the shop....
On the surface you wouldn't think a hot red with some orange in it could be matched with robin egg blue would look this good. I love the deep sound of the engine.

ROTF Daf!!!! I sooooo agree. It is just so ridiculously cool. I mean don't get me wrong Porsche is the best sub $200K "factory to the track" automobile produced today IMO. And this is coming from someone who claimed most of their life "awww it's a freaking squashed beetle etc, etc..." I drove a 2009 911 Turbo at an autocross in Charlotte NC a couple years back. Never been on a track before in my life and won the whole d**n thing. Now I tell you that to tell you this. That day, I drove a 2009 Ferrari F360 Spyder, 2010 M3, 2010 Nissan GTR, C63 AMG Merc, Audi R8 V10, and a Lamborghini Murcielago. Won top times in the GTR category and set the track record in the Porsche category(Btw, I was up against several SCCA and German touring car drivers). So all the top times from each vehicle category came back at the end of the day and had to all turn laps in the Porsche. I will say that you'll never understand just how good a Porsche is until you drive one. Those other cars were not even in the same zip code on the track. BUT!!!! A 220hp festiva? Lol, rear wheel drive? How do you NOT love that and want to drive it?

Would love to join your team. I worked on Porches in the west la area and it was one of the best times of my life. I worked for Rick Norris at RPS Automotive wich stood for Ricks Porche Service. Hew was one of the best Porche guys between 1980-90's. He hands on trained me and I consider to be an outstanding Porche Tech. I completely love your work and would love to be a part of it...
