ABOUT JAY LENO'S GARAGE ON CNBC
Hosted by legendary comedian and “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, the series explores our obsession with all things automotive. From classic cars to supercars and everything in-between, Jay is hitting the road to discover the most exciting, weird and wonderful vehicles ever made and meet the passionate people behind their wheels. Each one-hour themed episode features a mix of stunts, challenges, reviews, and celebrity interviews that showcases the colorful history of the automobile. Whether he’s exploring the story of an iconic brand, road-testing the newest super car, or investigating the latest automotive innovations, there is no wheel Jay won’t get behind to tell the story of our love affair with the car.
About Jay Leno: Acclaimed TV late night show host, admired stand-up comedian, best-selling children’s book author, much-in-demand corporate speaker, lovable TV and movie voice-over artist, pioneering car builder and mechanic, and philanthropist…it’s no wonder that Jay Leno is widely characterized as “the hardest working man in show business.”

Because of other health problems, I haven't had a license or been able to drive, but now my goal is to get a car and drive again. I will be 69 on Sept. 6th, and I have made it my goal to get a car and drive again! I grew up in S. Calif and cars were everything there. My first car was a 57 Chevy I had bought from my Grandpa! Wish me luck Jay...I am on SS now, haven't any money saved, but I am a man of faith and I am on a mission. It will be so great to drive again. 4 of my 5 grown children live out of state and I will drive from Reno to New Jersey, Oregon, and S. Calif, to see them and my 10 grandchildren. Thanks so much for this show. It has been my motivation.

At the time, Mr. Leno's car collection was around 250+ vehicles and his motorcycle collection was slightly larger (I think). He has made it possible for everyday people to see and get a 'feel' for vehicles they had not even heard of until they watched the video about that car, truck or motorcycle.

I bought a brand new Porsche 912 in April 1967 for $4790 plus tax. I loved the car drove it to California and back to Philadelphia, It may have been well made for the time but: The throttle linkage ocasionally came off leaving me to coast to a stop, the clutch wore out in less than a year, a valve spring broke in the engine, the leather cap on the center of the steering wheel came half off, the heater on the passinger side stopped working because of a detached cable. I loved the car and remember it fondly. I think having it when I was 22 years old was perfect. Only gave it up because I had to serve in the Army and the pay was not enough to allow me to keep the car. I put 30,000 miles on it though, including a trip to Monterey California where the Army stationed me for a year, and back to Philadelphia. Driving it through the Rocky Mountains then down the California Coast to Big Sur was unforgettable.

That 911 sounds so good in the upper rev range. Not a spitting demon like most hyper cars. It just sings beautiful notes.

Great job by the Ginger Ninja! If the whole racing thing doesn't work out he'd make a hell of a brand ambassador... lol

God what an enormously gorgeous car, perfect in every way. Can't believe Porsche bettered an already perfect product. I will own a GT3 one day.

Always love to see a new video from Jay pop up, love even more when the technical aspects of the car are explained by a subject matter expert of the car featured on the videos. Awesome videos Jay. You can tell he actually loves his job, I might be a little jealous wishing I had an opportunity like he has.

Good job getting Patrick Long on your show for THIS car!!! PORSCHE is a brand with no equal. The GT3 is why. Its the only brand and the only car that gets better, without fail, every time!!!

Not really, 9/11 was never a good design... Porsche's have always looked like upside down antique bathtubs... and the 9/11's rear engine weight has always caused it to slide off the road backwards and kill numerous famous people! The mid engine Porsche Carrera has always been better in the twisties like a Pontiac Fiero is, and Chevy Corvette just became... but Porsche wouldn't put as much power in the Carrera because they knew it would embarrass their top dollar flagship 9/11... Just like GM wouldn't allow more power/development of the Fiero because they knew it would intrinsically embarrass their Top Dollar Flagship Corvette... for far less money!

Porsche is the pinnacle of automobile design and technology. Every year they get more and more beautiful and this 2022 I think is the sexiest 911 I have ever seen. Maybe in another life I'll be fortunate enough to be able to own one.

Thank you for sharing that Mr.Long, why I love this company so much. Why it was awesome to watch you drive when you're racing. They're always about trying to set up events for really famous car shows and bringing collector items there by driving them. Loved what they did I think it was 3 years ago Where they were in the middle east at the middle of the most major connection where they snapped a photo in the middle of the desert. All four cars drove there. That's what's so cool. Stuff like that. They need to do more of.
