Somehow I missed this one lol Such a difference! Nice when someone recognizes your hard work and appreciates enough to call you back year after year. Nice job Nick! See you next time!😁
I am so glad you talk to us now 😊 Great job as always!
Yay, thank you Amy 💕
Looks beautiful! Watching you do that pointing made MY back hurt! Glad you’re not doing it anymore. Having back pain is the worst!
Thank you so much Colleen 💕. Couldn't agree more, before I had my back operation all those years ago, I was in agony every day 🙁
Sorry about your back and knee 😔 I know how frustrating and painful it can be. For the last one, that patio looks gorgeous to finish with 👍 thanks to your work ❤
Thanks so much Randi, love ya 😍
I am 73 and have arthritis in my back. Although I've never had surgery I can relate to the pain you had. Thanks for another great video. 😊
I'm really sorry to hear that, i'm pretty sure my knees are suffering with arthritis now in the winter, it can be agony at times, must be much worse for you having it in your back, you have my sympathy. Thank you for the great comment ❤️
Back and knees make some everyday task a challenge- So glad you got that pointing job when you did, and happy customers call you every year. It looks great and you don't just "waffle" you educate with a personal flair! 😂No really, I love that you explain the jobs and the why's of things and give us tips. You include us in the process and it makes your videos more interesting. Sunny days!🌞
Oh man I feel for your back and knees. I’ve done physical work my whole life, I’m now 62 and just cant do it anymore. I feel for you love….good job though ❤️
Hi mate been watching all your videos as im a builder for last 41 years and can say you definately have the eye for it watching you jet clean that roof the one with the idiot neighbour who wouldnt move there car anyway the straight line you did up on the roof was beautiful to watch straight as an arrow ,keep the good work up 👍
Once again Nick, I truly appreciate the way you explain why and how you do everything. As someone who had spine surgery years ago, I could certainly feel your pain! However you pressed on of course. Another splendid job young! Loved this video! All the best to you and yours always Nick! Be well! Big hugs from Texas to you 😊
Great job but hard to see you bending and on your knees that long, I would not have finished. But your work, as always, was top notch!
Thanks so much as always Toni 🥰
That looked like a beautiful property. You have a lot of skill, you made that pointing look easy, but glad for your knees and back you do not have to do it much anymore. Hoping for some sun for you. Stay safe.
Wonderful job. That pointing looks amazing - and still in perfect condition. It’s a shame your body won’t allow you to do it any longer as you’re clearly talented at it. Essential that you protect your knees and back now though. Fantastic job Nick 👏👏😁
Shout out to all the amazing blue collar workers of the world, you all rock, thank you for all you do. Take care mate from way down under in NZ.
Looks fantastic, sorry bout your back, glad your still out there doing great work❤❤
I can fully understand how you feel. The mind is willing but the body says no!!! You have been wonderful to watch and I've enjoyed all your videos. Good luck
Thank you! You too!
Sir Nick I'm sorry about your knees and back. I have had a double knee replacement so I can sympathize. Great job editing. Lovely work. Cheers from the pacific northwest. Canada side.
That’s an impressive piece of work and one of the cleanest areas of slabs I’ve seen in years.Feel your pain though as I’ve had back problems for over 30 years and still having physio and now in my 60s but still mowing folk’s lawns and jet washing,I must be bonkers but love the job.Keep,up the great work fella as I watch your posts all time.Steve 👍🏻😎☀️
I bet it feels good to have customers call you back year after year. It's because of your excellent job ethic. Keep up the good work and take care of your back, I have the same problems and it's not easy doing things when you are in pain.
Such a shame this is the last time, because you’re pointing, pardon the pun! Is on point 👌Great job.
Brilliant job!👏 You can tell they take pride in their garden😍
Thank you kindly Sheila 💕
That is some truly beautiful sandstone. You may have told us before, but my 67 yo memory is failing me right now...do all pressure washer companies do repairs on the pointing. You perform that job like fine art, and I have only ever seen you do that service. Beautiful job. Thanks for sharing, Nick. Have a great week. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Aw thanks Denise ❤️. Most, as far as i'm aware don't, it's quite a rare thing for a pressure washing company to offer traditional pointing, i'm only aware of one other in Cambridge, being Charlie from @atandc. Thanks again Denise, have a lovely week too ❤️
I'd wager that this particular customer likes you for the work so much not only because of the terrific job you always do, but because you _listen_ and follow the given instructions, without overstepping. I hope you recover soon, but the pointing looks stunning, and the stones look clean enough to eat off of~
Hi Nick 😁👋
Hope you and your wife are surviving the school holidays ok.
I get where the home owner is coming from if I am honest, if I could have a patio and path as gorgeous as that I would be making sure Maintained it as much as I could.
Ouch on the pointing, I can sympathise highly on both back and knees I have severe issues with both so understand the pain doing that must have caused. You were wise to listen to your body screaming and stop.
It looked wonderful and wow that pointing held up 👍
If ever I can afford my own home and a patio sand and cement mix will be done no messing 😊
Take care and just one more week to go and they are back (survival is slightly in doubt right now and I mean me not the kids 😂😂).
Love and hugs to you all 🤗🤗
Hey Polgara, Lol, yeah my wife's normally pulling her hair out by now, and praying for them to go back to school, but strangely all 3 of them seem to be behaving themselves, so she seems quite chilled out 😁, which means i'm not hearing about how naughty they've been when I get home from work, happy days 😂.
Stay strong, you can do it, just this last week to go 🤣
Love to you and yours too ❤️
Nick, I get it and as usual great job mate. Hope you had a few pints and a good rest over the weekend. God bless you pal 🙏
Nice one mate, all the best bud ✊
I feel ya pain. I had 2 back ops and 2 discs removed and wired. My body also screaming at me to stop this line of work but I enjoy it too much. Great freedom.
Hey Sir Nick. I know there would be no way I could get down on the ground to do a pointing job like that. My back would never allow it. Bending and stooping is not my strong suit. The tile looks great though in 2024. Hope all is well. And your back too !! he he he he
The time that you carefully explained about pointing and how you mixed it, has been a favorite of mine. At the time, I think you mentioned that doing pointing had become too strenuous for you to do. So, that this footage of an earlier job you did for a good client was nice, but hard on you. This included using a grinding disc, which your later video didn't. A beautiful job.
Thank you Robert 🤝
Brilliant idea using the old footage Nick We get to see the pointing still looking great after all this time.
Thanks for the upload, have a great week :)
Cheers Al, much appreciated as always mate 🙂
Hi Nick, the best solution for your situation is probably something like flowpoint grout. It's spread across the surface as a grout slurry, so naturally fills all space in the joint. Washed off once grout starts to firm up and leaves a brilliant finish. What the professionals use, for council, large scale projects. Would allow you to keep getting extra revenue. Check it out and see what you think, plenty vids on YT. If already mentioned, sorry for repeating!
And agree with you about the brush-in resin stuff, pure crap!
A very low chair with small wheels would help you a lot with repointing.
Lovely patio. Getting old sucks mate, my mind often says "Let's go!" And my mind says "Hell no!" And it's far more important to do what you can on your own time and not at work x
Couldn't agree more ❤️
A terrific cleaning job - and a fabulous job on the pointing. If you had to stop, you sure ended on a high note.
We do get to the time when the body says, "You do this to me ONE more time, buddy, and I'm really gonna hurt you. Just stop now." Good for you, for listening!
Great way of putting it ❤️, thanks for the great comment 👍
The pointing looked very Nick-like even after all these years^^ That's lovely to see and just proofs you right.
What is the strength of your mix in comparison to concrete? I once saw a 'pointing' made of concrete, a weird experiment, it broke only few years after. That said it was a parking slot, I guess the cars make a difference.
I have watched countless videos regarding the use of SH and yet I have still not come across a video that shows folk had to use SH and keep plants safe.
Are you able to make a video that shows us how to keep our grass and plants safe from being damaged by SH while getting such an amazing result as you did?
That’s absolutely beautiful ❤
Thanks so much ❤️
Looks fantastic!
Very beautiful job Nick
Hi Nick, i agree, that joint it is absolute crap. A lot of contractors using it nowadays cos it fast. Doesn't stand up to weeds or pressurewashing. Its pure sandy when you run your finger on it. Ive used Flowpoint on a patio for a customer.. mix it , pour out and it flows into all the nukes and crannies. Hardens like steel, but you gotta act fast or your screwed if it dries on you. 🙈😉
Hope your doing well. Are you going to get to the Expo next weekend?
Cheers, Paudie
Wonderful job Nick l and the pointing what a nice neat job you done fantastic ! mine needs doing soon so perhaps your idea for the right mix for pointing 3-1( 3 sand 1 cement ? ) looks good to me ! Thanks Nick .😎👍
Interesting to hear your comments about the brush in pointing. Used it 2 years ago and I am now thinking it needs removed and replaced with sand and cement mortar
There is definitely something to the old saying: "Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD!" Let those without back and knee problems carry on...
Well said Donna ❤️
👍👍👍. Thank you
Great job again bud. Keep up the good work
Excellent job, beautiful result Nick, well done!
Thank you! Cheers Diego 👍
Lovely music 😊
that was harder than it looked, thanks mate
Beautiful job!!
Thank you! 😊
It’s better now you talk us through it
I enjoy learning why watching you make this job look easy,i did half the amount of repointing you did and oh boy it leaves you walking like a old man for days... may I ask was this limestone ( believe you has said this in the video) I’ve heard others saying not to use hypo on that type of stone but did see you’d said that you’d use 3% hypo was that 3 to 1 mix or was it a 3% dilution. Only asking as I’d hope to achieve similar results on my own back garden. Thanks again for not only great teachings but very enjoyable videos.
Nick it still looks great. I too will not do some jobs as my lower back will grumble at me for a week after.
Thanks mate, yep i'm with ya my friend, back pain is one of the worst 😣
Great job on the pointing. The mix looked almost dry, did you actually add any water to the sand and cement? Reason I ask is when ever I have tried on my own slabs I always get mortar stains maybe I was just using way too wet a mix? Great results as always. Nice to see that the pointing is still so good.
Another amazing job
Sorry about your knees and back.
I find, personally, it's not so much the years as the mileage. 🤔
Taking us back to show your quality work 👍you had more hair then you've still aged well though 😂😂
🤣, such a smoothie 😍
Nice one Nick and another lovely looking job ! What type of strong sand would you recommend using here with the cement ?
Cheers!
Perfect.😊
Thank you! 😃
Nice one Mate
Cheers Brian 👍
Flowpoint, still needs some bending or kneeling to sponge it off though
Yeah I agree it's a great product, but like you say, will still need some time on ya knees and crouched over. I've never liked the thought of doing it on my own either, I imagine it's much easier with someone helping 👍
Wow that power jet is seriously good mate, which one do you use? Keep up the great work!!
looked like a babe on a hot beach in some shots there mate, looks like you need a holiday xD proper job well done
🤣🤣🤣, hey Sid, hope you're well mate. Holiday! What's that? I wish dude 😆
Looks great - could you remind me of your pointing mix you use? 3:1 sharp or building sand to cement ?
Thanks 👍. If I had both sands available, i'd go 2 parts building sand, 1 part sharp, 1 part cement. But most of the time i'd use builders sand 3 parts, to 1 cement 👍
You need the leather knee pads, help keep pressure off your knees.
I’ve got some, they don’t help, my knees are too far gone.
Wow that point looks just like it did the day you put it down. When you say 3:1 mix is it a by bucket or by spade you measure it out by
Doesn’t matter if it’s a thimble or a tonne bucket. 3 sand. 1cement. 👍
Cheers Conrad, much appreciated 👍. I'd normally measure by spade for bigger jobs, or by a hand trowel for smaller jobs. But like @warflair say below, it doesn't matter what you use to measure, as long as you measure in equal measurements at 3:1
Is there a reason some of the slabs don't have any cement/sand in them? Just wondering because I was going to try your 3 to 1 sand to cement mix on some slabs around my house to make it easier to maintain in the summer. (weeds and grass growing through them)
It's not an opinion, it's a fact that a sand and cement mortar mix at 4-1 or 3-1 is waaaayyyyy stronger than the brush in crap being used by a lot of pressure washing guys .
For some reason I can't reply to my own comment, but in answer to your question Easy Joint is an example of what I am talking about
Mate, that's exactly the stuff i'm saying is crap in the video, It's terrible stuff unless it's struck, which defeats the whole point in using it, because you might as well use sand and cement if you're going to strike it, as it costs a tiny fraction of Easyjoint and alike.
Fair enough fella, thanks for the videos btw.
Cheers mate, all the best 👍
Hello Nick seeing as you dont do repointing any more just curious how did you charge for this back bracking work? Cant be cheap. Just something for us to consider untill our back give out😆 great end result as ever.👍 cheers M
Many thanks mate as always 👍. I was charging £20 per m2 towards the end, as I was trying to put people off, didn't work though, people were still willing to pay it 🤦🏻♂️ 😁
The thing is with this type of work (traditional pointing) not many people who pressure wash offer it, so it's in high demand, and you can pretty much charge what you like 😄.
Cheers for the reply Nick always good to get an idea on price, I ve had a few customers ask me in the past and didn't know no how but now I do. Cheers for heads up on pricing, I think if customer doesn't want to pay the asking price I not interested either as I can see its guty work not to mention back bracking.. looking forward to yr next video m8👍
Hi Nick how much hypo do you think you use every year?
I feel ya man, just subbie out the pointing, its not worth the jib.
Definitely mate, you can make more money just pressure washing, and it's way less work 👍
Hi my pathways are black what should I use to get rid of it many thanks
Pressure wash then sodium hypochlorite
When you say 3% Hypochlorite solution do you mean 3 parts hypochlorite to 97 parts water by volume ?
Nope, I mean that i've diluted a 15% strength solution down to 3%
First ❤
❤️💕
Don’t end up with a herniated disc and sciatica it bloody sucks
Mate, you realise that you can get jointing products now that you sprinkle on and apply with a hosepipe ?
What product is that? I'm pretty sure that's just the same as the stuff i'm complaining about in the video.
Really ? I need some of that, what’s it called please?

Oh the xjet softwash 🤌🤌🤌🤌. Another top job Nick!
Aw thanks Lakshmi 😍
