    Electro galvanized instead of a full galvanized siding nail or aluminum? What are your worries about the longevity of a electro galvanized nail? Are you using roofing nails in that style of roofing nailer?

    I was just searching for the VSA4 adapter for the RN46-1, and see Reed made one, but its discontinued. What all pneumatic roofing guns take, or have aftermarket vinyl siding attachments? Ive read Bostitch RN46-1, Max CN445R3, Hitachi NV45AB2 and Dewalt DW45RN.. Wish I could find one for the Hitachi because its the best gun imo.. Which pneumatic roofing gun would you choose if you wanted to use it for vinyl siding?
    Thanks

    I've used a coil nailer just like the one used. I simply dial down the pressure and shoot accurately.I've never had a call back and even installed on family members houses. No issues. Just aim correctly and the siding will slide with no loose nails, damaged nailer or a 160$ attachment.

      The same boat itch nailer has a depth dial 1-5 5 being closest to your material. I’ve adjusted it to 1-2 and had fine rssults

    At $200 a piece just go with pancake head exterior grade wood screws and use your impact

    It leaves an improper gap. Every manufacturer I’ve installed recommends 1/32 gap between the fastener and the vinyl, not 3/16 of an inch.

    • @AndrewBrowner
      @AndrewBrowner Před 2 lety

      okay so push the piece of plastic against a sander, a grinder, whatever.. and presto magic the gap is decreased.. not like hand nailing it is perfect.. unless youre taking 10 minutes to put up a couple pieces of siding.. tapping and pulling and redoing nails

  • @chrisharpe4916

    • @maxgilbert18

      It's $100 now. For a professional that's practically nothing out of my tool budget.

  • @urballzrheek
    @urballzrheek Před 2 lety

    In Ontario Canada they have 2 inch insulation into studs, so this is unrealistic

    • @chvydrptop
      @chvydrptop Před 2 lety +1

      I am going to assume they are using a rainscreen which is put on top of the insulation (eg 3/4 plywood strips furring). You wouldn't be able to float a siding nail over that much insulation successfully.

  • @malikto1
    @malikto1 Před 3 lety +4

    Wow, at $200 it is way too expensive for a small piece of metal.

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  Před 3 lety +1

      it's definitely pricey, if your doing siding all day every day I think it would be worth it.

      NO THIS I S SO WRONG WE SHOULD NOT OVER PAY FOR STUFF JUST BECAUSE WE NEED IT OR CAN, MANUFACTURERS SHOULD JUSTIFY PRICE. REALLY HOPE SOMEONE ELSE WITH A GOOD 3D PRINTER START FABRICATING SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR ALL MAJOR GUNS. IT'S RIDICULOUS GUYS COME ON,

  • @Musicdudeyoutub
    @Musicdudeyoutub Před 2 lety

    You put on two very small pieces, and I can already see the nails are a little loose, and the nailgun is damaging the nailer on the siding after only a few nails. No good

  • @thecashbandit2510
    @thecashbandit2510 Před 2 lety

    • @usmc2msu213
      @usmc2msu213 Před rokem

      I think it’s he’s to get the angle right quickly each time, but you’re idea is right as long as your aim is on. The safety tip also makes that hard each time which that base takes care of.

  • @shaun4bigblocks993

    Why wouldn't you compare it to Bostich's very own VSA4 which just so happens to ALSO have a build in guide jig???? Paid promotion and sponsors have literally ruined CZcams...

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi Shaun, this was not a comparison video. Perhaps in the future I will do one, definitely a good idea. Like I said in the video, I only do sponsorships if I like the products.
