Bostitch 651S5 Stapler amzn.to/3q8WGpH
Thank you very much for this video, it helped me decide to get one. I got it last summer for vinyl siding my house. I also used it this spring attaching 7/16 OSB for a shed build. The staple gun is a nice medium size, much lighter than my framing nailer.
Bostitch is good if you’re aren’t using the tool heavily. If you are building three or more homes a day I recommend the Senco version. The tool is called NS20XP. It drives a 7/16th crown 16 gauge staple. It has a similar vinyl attachment. I’ve seen them in factories across the USA and they work great
Heard good things about senco but i swear by my paslode s200s16
I worked for Adirondack Storage Barns. a garage and shed building place and that's the way we do it for vinyl siding. Its much more efficient way to put it up than hand driving nails. The guns were a professional bostich version that costed around $600 but this gun should work well too👍
like your vid and i bought the gun i have 6 vinyl siding jobs coming up and it will be nice not to have to hand nail them all
Mine is not working. It blows air but the trigger can't fire. Feels like the air pressure is too low. How can I fix it?
First, check your air pressure at the tool. Otherwise, I have had no reason to take this apart since it has worked with zero issues. If yours is not new, and has been sitting for a long time, might be a lubrication issue. Try a few drops of air tool oil in the air intake fitting.
Did you figure it out? Does the trigger feel like it does nothing? There is a seal in the trigger that needs replaced from time to time.
@@whitechris720 Solved it. Plastic cover was blocking it to trigger. I didn't see it at first cause it was at the backwards of the gun for me cause I'm left handed. :( I felt so dumb when I noticed that.
@flaisee hey at least you figured it out
Nice review Roger , I am looking at buying this one for siding , so after a year how has it performed. Cheers Steve
It works quite well, but there is a bit of a learning curve on how to hold it for "rapid use". Also found that it is not useful if the sub-surface is not perfectly flat. So, trying to go over existing lap siding does not work. On new construction, it is a real time saver.
I have had a problem with it cracking the vinyl soffit. Not on the slotted part, but in the groove to staple it to the soffit. Not sure if the pressure too high or low or if I didn't have the head sitting flat? Any advice? Maybe the material was too cold. I don't know.
Great video! New subscriber!!
I have vinyl siding to put on my house. I found the 2" SS staples. Are they too long? I need to go through old dutch-lap Masonite siding. The 2" are on sale right now.
Thank you!
No, not too long, but do a few test shots to make sure the staples to not crimp over on the old Masonite. Depends on how hard it is.
@@rogersshop I should be good to go. The Masonite is fairly soft, not dense at all.
Thank you again!
coool but also kind of expensive.
True, but it does the job, and quickly. Depends on what your time is worth!
