Wizards of the Coast gets Cardconjurer taken down

- Today is a sad day for the custom card making community. Wizards of the coast has officially gotten Cardconjurer taken down and ironically right after their 30th anniversary $1000.00 proxy set they released. I feel so bad for the creator of Cardconjurer, he has put so much time and passion into being the very best custom card making tool available to us. I am so thankful for the opportunity to use cardconjurer up until now.
Good news however, our discord server is up! If anyone wants to talk about this, or still share custom cards you've made or just chat with us consider joining. I also have some exciting information to share on there. :)

I discovered CardConjurer via your videos a little more than a week ago, and got right to work making an existing deck with "real" cards look better. Yesterday morning, I started (re)designing the look of another favorite deck. I left the tabs open.
I got home to get back to designing it and was prompted to reload the tabs. Obviously, Kyle's letter was what loaded. It was a huge bummer.
I had even conceptualized some basics for a Metal version of MtG, using classic photos, starting with some Black Metal Bands. I managed to get a Euronymous card downloaded.
I also got that first deck sent off to MPC, so at least thats a win for me. I would have loved to have kept experimenting with the site. It was so much fun to use for the 7-9ish days that I did.

It sounds like WotC is doing the same thing with D&D. I understand it's a business, but they are turning a lot of people off from wanting to support them by shutting down all of the cool niche creators who add so much fun, flare, and uniqueness to the games we love. Thanks for doing this video. It needed to be said, and you said it well.
Hasbro and WotC are on a warpath attempting and succeeding in destroying every ounce of goodwill they ever accrued.
The quest for corporate profits is ruining our society. It's our entire culture, not just WOTC or Hasbro.
Probably a big push ahead of their big corporate moves to squeeze some cash.
This is a terrible shame. While I've never printed proxies I've made a handful of custom magic cards in Magic Set Editor but I was gonna use Card Conjurer to make the final draft of those cards if I ever printed them.
No one would need to make proxies if these card game companies actually printed cards people wanted at reasonable pull rates and the secondary market didn't decide that some cards needed to be 100 dollars or more for one card. Edgar Markov is 73 dollars right now! Ridiculous.
If anything now I feel like I want to make proxies out of spite. I've looked around on reddit and some people already have a local version up and running that you can download to your own pc. Wizards can't stop that.

I found your content after looking for exactly what you have built before which is full themed custom MTG proxy style decks. I am sad they took down the site after I found your content, but I am interested in the overlord deck you made as well as seeing other customs cards. This is something that from a legal or finance perspective you can understand. It's not as bad as when a hotel/fair site sued shooting victims to gain an advantage. However, it's a move that causes a lot of sadness and inconvenience among fans.

I just bought a proxy commander deck for my son's friend who is just getting into magic and going the proxy route was easier to get him a deck so that he can learn and slowly make "real" if he wants to...
Card Conjurer was the best I'm going to really miss it... going to look into that local server thing tho...

Dunno if you'll see this, but Card Conjurer is up with a much different format, with Json templates. I haven't figured out how to use it but if someone else has or can figure it out I'd appreciate some help.
Ok, I hated Magic 30th enough already for simply existing. I didn’t think it were possible for me to despise Magic 30th even more then I do already; I was wrong.
What’s next, Wizards/Hasbro going to go after Staples for printing off entire proxy EDH decks for customers; for only a couple dollars, because people can’t afford to buy into the game? Fuck that product and Hasbro.

That suck I just discovered customer Proxy and I wanted to make acustom Commander because I hated some of the characters art. It was one of the reason I was getting back into magic.
Some of these site I was thinking of using to make my own card game.
I didn’t know about this website. But I saw a video (can’t remember which) where they said it received this cease and desist letter because it started charging to use it.
Was that true ?
No it was always free, there was just a donation option and a patron link

There are, but none were as good as CardConjurer was.
Nooo, I didn't got to finish my Warhammer decks!!! I wonder if he can make a program with what the website had, I'm pretty sure wizards can't stop an actual program.

proxies wouldnt be needed if they charged the actual price of thegame which is 10 cents for each piece of card board
