I have six of them and do like them, but I do find they smudge on lower lash line. Or could it be the moisturizer I use that makes the liners smear?
I feel exactly the same way about the TM eyeliners which I love. The also smudge beautifully for a smokey look
Sevothtarte Sama I’m disappointed in the case design. Very little product, hard to twist up the right amount, breaks off easily is not careful. All that for $35 plus tax😱 I wish some company with a better idea would put out something like this in a decent case.
Really?? I bought 3 of them, hoping in quality and no-smudging ... but they all smudge!!! What I am doing wrong?? Is it the hooded lid? 😢
Thanks for your recommendations! My all time favourite eyeliner pencils are By Terry (sharpened style) and for a wind up style, the Dolly Wink skinny one. They are absolutely bullet proof!

My favorites: Pretty Vulgar’s Black List gel eyeliner (comes in an ink pot), Marc Jacobs gel eyeliner in Blacquer, Marc Jacobs gel crayon in (Earth)Quake, Marc Jacobs gel liner in (Stone) Fox, and Fenty Beauty Flyliner in Cuz I’m Black (top eyelid only, it does smudge, unfortunately)!
My favorite well currently is the VB I just love how it's this bronze with a hint of olive.. Oh I love Chanel Khaki.. they have been my go to liners, I agree with you the VB is like butter and doesn't move I have watery eyes.. Love it!! Love your collection Michele xx ❤

Bought a backup of the Victoria Beckham Kajal in Bronze as it has me wearing eyeliner again, and I absolutely LOVE it! Such a quick step and makes such a difference (so soft and such a beautiful colour)!
My all time favorite is the Chanel Waterproof in Espresso and I need to get a new one today though I am thinking of trying Blackwood for a change of pace

Chanel just came out with a new eyeliner called Brun Agape in the same formula! It’s amazing.. a dark bronzy tone that is so special!
I also love PM’s Black Coffee eyeliner for a beautiful intense tone that is perfect! And I agree, I like the liners you can sharpen for the same reason you stated plus I think it’s more sanitary to sharpen the liner so it’s clean every time.

I recently bought a couple of Marc Jacobs eyeliners and I like them, I have very sensitive eyes and that is my main concern and of course I like them to stay in place but I was impressed with them, there’s a variety of colors as well as finishes like metallic and glitters

I love my Chanel eyeliner but my No 1 is the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner. I own about 7 of them! It does not budge after you put it on! Plus there are so many colors 😍

Happy to see Trish McEvoy getting some love. She was one of the first - if not my very first - high end brand I got into. Liberty was doing a special event with Trish herself, and I was lucky enough to have her do my face! Thrilling. She has beautiful skin - quelle surprise! I find her stuff not sexy at all but very reliable. I love her curling mascara and her glittery lip gloss 🥰🌟✨

Enjoyed this video and color swatches. I have the TF and Chanel ones, among others, but as I have gotten older I find all my eyeliners and mascaras smudge now. I think maybe it has to do with sagging eyelids or the need to moisturize more to avoid dry eyelids. It’s a gift.
Michelle thank you so much I have been hoping for this video ,I have about 2o from 2 dollars to 36 , they all run they pile up in the corner instant work at 6 by the time its 12 ...gone. thank you so much . I tried trish mc voy too but i guess if you want good you have to pay over 35 .
My fav are always Chanel pencils. I do have a trish MacEvoy and it is creamy and smooth but this may sound odd but I find they are too soft. I have to use my wayne gross eye liner brush to get product on the brush then line my eyes because I find it is so soft and I run thru so much product so quickly.
I love the Trish McEvoy in Arabian Nights. 💙 I’d love to try that one.
I only have two eyeliners! I know, but I don’t wear liner often. Mine are Chantecaille’s Luster Glide Silk Infused in shades “Earth” and “Amethyst.” They are lovely. I just wish I could get closer to my lash line. I’m not good at lining. 🤷♀️ You always make it look so easy.

Need to try the Trish McEvoy! I have such a hard time with liners running on my waterline. I agree that the PMG ones smudge a bit. I can’t wear them on my waterline. I find that the Milk liners pencils work well in the upper waterline for me if I can keep myself from blinking. Sometimes I even hold my eyelid out a teeny bit and fan the liner dry to speed up the dry down. A popular one that has been a total fail for me are the Marc Jacobs Gel liners. A surprising find for me are the L’Oreal Infallible Longwear Eye Pencils. My issue with the L’Oreal pencils is actually how hard they are to remove!
I agree! I judge a lot of brands by how good their eyeliners are....especially their black eyeliners!

Hi Michele! Wonderful choices! I totally agree with the VB ones! I got the black when I first reviewed her products and in the meantime I got the bronze and the bordeaux (gorgeous colour!). They are possibly the best eyeliners that I have! I also liked the Mark Jacobs ones, specially the skinny fineliners! Because i have a very sensitive water line/eyes, I find that they are good for everyday because i can place the lines very precisely. xoxo, Marisa

PMG Black Coffee for my waterlines and MAC’s Coffee is my favorite easy liner. I also prefer a pencil I can sharpen. I like a sharp tip!
I use good ol Revlon Colorstay! Also been using the UD Perversion, but the applicator is a bit long for me.

The Chanel liners are by far my favorite...they seem to be the only ones that don't transfer onto my contacts. Love Khaki Intense, but Blackwood (a really dark brown) is the one I reach for almost every day.

I usually use whatever comes with the pencils like Chanel and Tom Ford have nice ones.
Oh, I'll have to check out the Trish McEvoy! I'm a fan of the Chanel, VB, and Esum, but my favorite liner is probably the Shiseido MicroLiner Ink in Brown (black is good too, and I found the plum too light for me). I like smudging a line (admittedly usually messy) under and on my lashline, then smoothing out the line and then winging it out a little using an angled eye brush. Because of my eye shape (very small lower lid area) eyeliner almost always smudges on me, so I tend to have a few favorites and then a pile of liners I can't use. I also like the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in demolition, and was surprised that I like the Charlotte Tilbury Classic Powder Pencil in Audrey. I think I heard about the CT liner through either you or Mona, but no one else talks about it!

Another Chanel Stylo lover here. My current favorites are Black Wood, Brun Agape and the discontinued limited edition Revelation which is a metallic taupe that I love on my bottom lash line and lower water line. I have 2 backups but 🤞🤞🤞🤞that they come to their senses and reintroduce it. Santal is also a gorgeous light brownish gold.

I love your appreciation for colored liners. I use them fairly often. I am fair and the dark colors don't appear as stark as black ones. I really like the Urban Decay ones; they have great colors.

I like that Beckham bronze. The problem I find with the stickier pencils is you have to watch them with eyeshadows. If you try to touch up color after eyeliner application, they can grab the powder and mess up your eye look if you’re not careful ....which for me is 90% of the time.

I love urban decay 24hour pencils and I love the stila 24hour liquid liner which is great on me but smudge on many. I tried the Chanel khaki and it disappeared by end of day. I suppose it’s skin chemistry.
You mentioned before kohl eyeliners you liked. Went on powdery and mat. Which were those?

i heard that the eyeliners are made in two main german factories. But considering that Germany manufactures Stabilo and Faber-Castell its not hard to believe.
FYI the Chanel stylo’s have a very handy removable sharpener at the bottom end of the eyeliner pencil.
Eyeliner reviews are important! Some can swatch beautifully, but don't last at all

Thanks for this, I have some of these. The Esum look amazing but shipping to the UK is too expensive, I’d love some of their brushes. The other eyeliners I love are Marc Jacobs but they dry out in the pencil too quickly. Sephora own brand are really good, I bought a set of 3 urban decay in TKMaxx last year and they are really good, they live in my handbag. I love the Nars metallic long wear ones. Last but not least are the Chantecaille silk infused liners they are amazing, olive brocade is just stunning. I can’t limit it to 5 either 😂

Thanks for doing this video, love Top 5 Tuesdays and always need a good eyeliner. I prefer wooden pencils that need sharpening as well, I think the twistup eyeliners dry out and I get super annoyed if they start flaking off or break off.

Does anyone know of any eye pencils for the waterline for sensitive eyes? I love a black on the waterline but when I wear it, my eyes get red and irritated and look terrible. I’ve tried the Marc Jacobs liners and Lancôme kohl. Thank you!
You may try Guerlain Terracota loose powder eye liner. I don’t see much people talking about it but it’s so good for sensitive eyes and it’s very dark black.
@@munirasiddiqi5957 I agree! I have it in like a little flacon bottle - very Egyptian looking. Many Indian ladies say the ingredients are good for their eyes. I actually close my eyes and run the applicator through it - open and both the top and bottom coated and stays all day with no irritation - it's lasting me forever 👍🏻

Living in Australia I can only relate to Chanel, I must search to see if I can find Tom Ford or VB lines. I prefer black as I have dark eyes but sick of smudges, not a good look.
I think I have oily eyelids or something because I have the Trish McEvoy eyeliner and by the end of the day it’s completely gone. The last Tom Ford eyeliner I had completely broke off after like 3 wears. I know people love that brand but I’m not a fan. I’ll have to check out Chanel.

Michele Wang Really? I’ve had my midnight in Paris, which I love for more than 8-9 months. Not dried out and never breaks. You might be referring to the skinny gel liners? The regular gel liners never dry out or break on me and stay all day. My experience, anyway. Thx.
Love Marc Jacobs gel liner because it works on my sensitive eyes. For years I have been a L’Oréal liquid eyeliner person until suddenly with changing hormones my eyes have become hyper sensitive. I tried many liners, from liquids, pencils to gel bottles but none worked until Marc Jacobs skinny gel liners! They go on smoothly, easily, have intense pigments and don’t budge. When I have to remove it the only thing that works quickly is Lancôme make up remover or I just keep a cotton pad saturated with Bioderma miscellar water for a couple minutes to break down the eyeliner and clean it up. I love twist up liners because they are easy to use and don’t have tiny residual wood debris after sharpening. The Marc Jacobs liners (skinny or regular) haven’t broken for me ever and I have had them for a year at least, in most cases. Probably the California weather helps? Then again, I use it during travels to Asia and Europe... so somehow it works.
Oh forgot to mention, I don’t use anything on my waterline due to my eyes being sensitive now, but on a couple occasions I tried the Marc Jacobs on the waterline and it wasn’t too bad for about an hour and half, after that my eyes began to water and turn red as usual 🙄! But on my eyelids currently Marc Jacobs rules. I am tempted to try Chanel after seeing your video. Thank you.
