I kinda like what Namco is doing tho. I don’t think they’ve actually activated disconnection rate counting yet cause they’re ensuring the game doesn’t crash or disconnect no matter how shit network gets. I had power on my router completely go out for a second and the rollback just handled it without disconnecting. I’m pretty sure they’ll implement a penalty system soon.
Honestly it should just count as a loss for the plugger every time, and give their opponent the win. Each time, not the three strike rule. There shouldn't really be a heavier punishment for disconnections like that, though, since it's very quick to get into games, they're low time investment, and - being a fighting game - it's just very easy for people to get worked up and simply altf4 out of the game.
I've gotten a few terrible timed hard crashes where I was like 1 or 2 mixups from losing the set. Im certain my opponent saw it as me plugging. But yea I've definitely gotten a good few obvious plugs Plugging is pretty rampant rn
Im garyu rank and there was only a single disconnect from a king player so far, im not sure if thats because all of the pluggies peqk at blue rank because they have to plug every game cuz people absolutely murder them or whats going on, but now im afraid of what awaits me when i get higher.
I noticed it starts up in the orange ranks and gets really annoying and red!! Lol for anybody that is unaware it is if you are in the red rank you already made it to the top 1% stop quitting. You’re most likely on the leaderboard at this point, that would put you in the top 10,000 or very close to it. I’m going to make this as simple as possible if 1,000,000 copies of Tekken was sold (which is definitely more) what is 1% of 1 million the answer is 10,000. So you made it to the 1% stop leaving!!!! It’s very annoying happened to me 5 times today out of 8 matches I played.
@@superj7771 If you understand basic math yes!!! As long as your on leader board or close to it you are top 1% (go to the leaderboard and look at your stats) When I was in the red rank I was on the leaderboard and still Am. Hmm I wonder if this is more prevalent in Fujin+. I've been playing in Red Ranks for a while now (that seems to be my current skill cap) and I'll get the 1 and doners, but haven't had a single plugger. Now that I say this i'll probably see more though.
Adding watch replay into the ranked system that you are talking about is extremely difficult! I know as I am a programmer, and I can tell how difficult it was for the devs to construct this game. They have compartmentalized most of the features of the game, to make sure that they can debug things easier. I still think that the programming of the game could have been better, as I have experienced the game eating my inputs very regularly.
There should be a system implemented where if they plug, you should get xp for both matches, and they should get a 10 hour ban and 10 matches of playing quickplay matches of community service, as well as a rank loss of up to 2 ranks
I've only run into 1 quitter but I'm only midway through the green ranks. This is the first fighting game I've actually gone into ranked with so it's kinda lame to hear about all the disconnects
Potentially they could code to distinguish an abrupt unplugging to a server issue disconnect that could be flagged if certain criteria was met right before the disconnection...versus perfect server performance but a hard disconnect occurs
11:05 I couldn't help but laugh a little when you calmly said, " If you play against lars on the underground arena stage, you're pretty much going to always be exploding on that wall, pause" 🤣🤣🤣
I just hit the first green rank and I've only seen 0% disconnection and not a single quit so far. But as you rank up more and the game gets older I'm sure people will quit out more.
It's at the higher ranks where people will start plugging. They are so afraid of losing their virtual points that they resort to quitting like a bitch.
Yes, i think the problem is though that a small majority leave/quit a set early because some players spam, Mash. Or Just flat out play cheap as hell. I DONT MIND LOSING Lol but to be cheated out of a win, it takes the fun out of the game. So yes, *i will leave after the first match* if you’re playing childish. You can’t win them all
Had to change my screen name to Ben Crashn to hopefully get across that im not plugging on them, ive just been getting crashes during matches since the last update.
Finally somebody actually did a video about this video like I've gotten 14 pluggers in the past few weeks, ive reached raijin with raven but after that all ive been getting was rage quitters, they need to do something about this, how am I supposed to rank up like this 🤦🏾
i just got mity ruler with 3 char and red ranks with 10 and its insain the plugging i never really cared abouth my rank more abouth how do i play well but i really thought that in the fujin ranks this was going to stop
I hopped on today after work, first ranked match dude rage quit match point , next match dude rage quit 2nd round..i logged off for the night..too many fragile egos in that game atm
Is there really no penalty? In tekken 7, they implemented a penalty system where they get demoted if they get disconnected more than 3 times in a set amount of matches. I got demoted twice because I used to play on really unstable WiFi and it would disconnect me randomly, very frequently. AT&T gave me the explanation that since I live by a river, internet connections can be faulty, but it sucked nonetheless.
It makes me feel so much better to know it's not just me with the rage quitting. I literally have had rank ups blocked cuz they'd disconnect right when I'm winning
I'm closing in on almost 500 ranked matches and haven't had this issue once. Then again' I'm still bouncing between yellow and orange ranks trying to learn the game. What's been a bigger problem for me is the crashing on PC. After the first few ranked crashes, I managed to find a temporary fix by turning my graphics settings all the way down, but i've got a baller PC that can easily run the game on max settings.
i do remember it was the same in Tekken 7 like you said unfortunately, people with 92 win streaks that always plugged when they were about to lose. however now with the even more rampant outrage and their previous statement, i feel like it will eventually be resolved. i think they’re trying to find an almost universal fix to try and completely shut it down rather than a sub-par one that they’ll quickly find a workaround to. i liked your suggestion for the warnings and penalties, however i don’t think player match plugs should be punished much in comparison (perhaps just a small time punishment at most) as well as 1 game quits. some people just don’t want to rematch, i know i hated the thought of rematching mfers like Marduk back in 7. great video again overall though. :)
As a shaheen and claudio player i feel you bro. It’s the same situation i’m living too. Especially when i play with shaheen the most difficult character in terms of combos execution, a lot of gamers ragequit. Every time i’m playing , there’s 10 people who ragequit. That’s absurd and the worst part like you said , you don’t get rewarded and get stuck on the same rank. I’m losing focus every-time , you need to be focused while playing shaheen cause he got nerfed a lot and it’s not easy. The devs need to take example from capcom and need to add the 24 hours ban system on their game. The game got just released since one month ago and it’s already messed up on ranked matches.
Just got my first ragequit against Jin player in orange rank. If he didn't quit, i would have been red rank. After that been going through the king gauntlet.
I've played 145 matches online, 133 in Ranked and not even once did somebody DC on me. Otherwise I agree with everything you said. I'm only in orange ranks yet though, might be why. If there isn't already a penalty like what you said, which is a great solution they should definitely add it, and a reward for the one who's still left.
I don't know what it is but I was Online for the 1st time yesterday and not once did I get a rage quit. The Tekken team has said they are working on the penalties. Till then they advised to Block and report these quitters.
Pluggers are a type of person who you would ask "Hey, stop plugging, it ruins the game for other people" and they would just say "F other people, I care about my fun". You want to stop this kind of behavior you have to punish it. Look at other comp games with heavy penalties for quitters, you see far less quitters far less often, and the cases of innocents disconnecting only really happens rarely that a small leway is enough to protect them (3 strikes is reasonable, but honestly I think after the first DC of the day you should start getting penalties which ramp up the more you do it)
Found this video because I myself have been having problems with people plugging on me, im almost purple rank but people higher than me plug & whenever i get another fight i lose fairly 😅
I understand the frustration with people rage quitting so much. I had a day that 5 people in a row rage quitted on me and I got so frustrated that this problem still persists in Tekken 8 I just called quits for the day, And like you I would have been promoted if it weren't an issue anymore. Imo if someone quits for whatever reason the other person should get the points and the quitter should lose them, if you have problems with unstable internet, game is crashing for whatever reason it should be on you, no matter what, fix the problems and get back in. I really hate to see people who I know is quitting getting promoted because they option select the games without any consequences. And no, getting a quitting % is not a real punishment either.
@bilbo_gamez6195 Right now there is a bug, even people who RQ on purpose they're quit % doesn't go up at all, I have seen the same people who quitted on me multiple times and they're % is still 0 so...
Totally agree with penalty system. Not gonna go on my rant on why I’ll sound like a broken record at this point but yeah a penalty system would definitely be nice. 👍🏾
Street fighter 6 has it. If you plug, i tested this myself, you loose the points. If someone plugs on you, you do not get the points tho. Seems stupid at first, but its to prevent boosting, so its understandable and smart. I just want to get these pluggers punished. I was plugged 8 times yesterday as well, this man is not over exaggerating here.
The one problem that a lot of my friends are having I mean I can usually fight around it. But when you fight somebody in ranked and they have the special style on, and I firmly believe that special style should be disabled in ranked matches.
The replay thing straight after match would me amazing, its a fantastic idea. The map switch thing gets in the way of another great new feature, the instant rematch. Otherwise its a great idea
I had a weird experience like with you getting low parried every time. First week or two in tekken. I was getting cooked by a devil jin in ranked. The last round i was just like "i give up. You're way too good. Take the round." So i just stood there and would stand back up when knocked down. Guy caught on that i gave up and just stood in front of me moving back and forth, not attacking. Time kept ticking so i decide to try and randomly grab him to speed things up. He instantly ducks. "Whoa! Aint no way!" Waited another 10 seconds and tried to grab again, instantly ducks. I dont know enough about tekken yet but either something was suspicious or the guy was a god.
Ngl i didnt even mind death matches being ranked. I lost a ton of points usually, but I almost always felt like i leveled up with matchup knowledge. But i also dont particularly mind the new system either.
Counter Strike 2 (and before when it was Counter Strike Global Offensive) times you out for leaving mid ranked matches and the duration of timeouts becomes larger if you dissconnect multiple times in a row or in a specific time frame. I feel that should be implemented because I feel that if we only reward the player left but not penalize the plugger, this can be a easier access to boosting if used to its advantage. So unless the Tekken Team doesn't put in a safety measurement to prevent fighting the same opponnent over and over again, a timeout seems like the better option personally speaking. Besides one can argue that if they break the rules of the game then they should face consequences. In soccer/ football if you foul someone, you get the red card and can't play in the next game.
Legit I’m getting so tired of one and done had a couple before heading to the gym rn, I hope they just put in a lock system so people can’t run in ranked.
Your proposed solution sounds good. It could firstly penalize by demoting and losing points, then if it continues it could temporarily ban the player from playing Ranked mode.
Something I don't really like about the Ranked is the lowest you can search for is plus 2 rankings. I kind of just want to play opponents that are my rank or the rank I'd go into if I win enough. it's really annoying.
Sf 6 has a nice way to handle this in which if a person leaves the game tells you explicitly and gives you the chance to block then. On their end of they do it too often they get a yellow card and can only get matched with other yellow cards. If they keep doing it they get a red card and it's even more restrictive to find a match. To get out of matchmaking jail you need to complete matches. I don't know how many and i think there's also a minimum time you have to serve. I'm not proud to say I've been there once in a particularly shitty week dealing with life issues and fuck me i will never go through the card system again. I'm taking like 20 minutes wait to get a match. I wouldn't say it's perfect but i can say i was reformed
I stopped playing ranked cause of the pluggers, or leavers after 1 match, i'm stuck for 15 seconds or so if they decline, so i play casual matches way more fun atm
another qol that i'd like to see is to add an option to go to practice mode with the opponent character after the match has ended just like SF6, it would save a loading or two in practice mode.
That why SF6 if you disconect too much you get yellow card that reduce the point you earn and increace the chance to match with other yellow card player
Give them probation every time they plug. First plug restricts them for playing ranked 30min, 2nd one like 5 hours, etc. After not plugging for a while will reset the probation timer, this was how it was back in cod
Great video man. I've found ranked was fine until people started talking about people plugging then all of a sudden it was rampant, maybe just a coincidence but that's what some plungers are like they find it funny and the speed inwhich we get matches now coupled with tekken 8 being more stressful than 7, for the time being you notice plungers more and those who plug will stress out and plug more.
One yoshi pc Player i faced became a pro after i was 2 rounds up. For some reason his special style Window went on and off multiple times. That was the Moment when He was able to block everything
I think they had it somewhat down in T7, if you dc'd you got a loss and lost points (idk if that was only at the end) i believe you needed a DC % of like 4 though. I think ranked matches are the only ones that should have that enforcement. If the person who doesnt DC is on game point they should receive the win HOWEVER having that system in place may cause some boosting. You can just queue and search for accounts with DC percentages and gain free points. The accounts that are actually just jab bots that reach high ranks can easily be tracked now with the ghost system and the stat graph. That should be easy for the system to detect and deal with appropriately. I think they are waiting until Eddy release to do a fix/ban wave for this stuff so they are able to find early cheats/hack along with dealing with this issue. (I wrote this 1/2 thru the video so i realize one of the things i brought up was said.)
Yeah I had a few ppl disconnect from the match before I win on their promotion match and a few times we got matched up again just for them to still be on that same promotion status. LTG is running rampant on stream right now 😂 my dude got that fraudulent azz Tenryu ranked and ragequitting before every match he is about to lose.

@@abeetmameet definitely,only if it’s a broken character tho
@@RemorsefullyhumbleHe's stuck in green.
There shouldn't really be a heavier punishment for disconnections like that, though, since it's very quick to get into games, they're low time investment, and - being a fighting game - it's just very easy for people to get worked up and simply altf4 out of the game.
you play Feng, i can absolutely understand why people ragequit on you.
Dale in here so mad he about to unplug his control just from watching this lol
I've gotten a few terrible timed hard crashes where I was like 1 or 2 mixups from losing the set. Im certain my opponent saw it as me plugging. But yea I've definitely gotten a good few obvious plugs
Plugging is pretty rampant rn
Red rank is 1%? Is that official?
@@superj7771 If you understand basic math yes!!! As long as your on leader board or close to it you are top 1% (go to the leaderboard and look at your stats) When I was in the red rank I was on the leaderboard and still Am. If you’re still confused ask yourself what is 1% of 1 million and you got your answer.
@@michaeldietz2648red rank is the new green rank.. the real comp starts at the end of purple into blue
@@Cutthroat__ lol purple and blue ranks are basically top-tier players that are Eastport that do it as a profession and people that are extremely dedicated. Do you realize the small amount of people that are actually playing in blue and above compared to the people that are in lower ranks. Now you can try to convince yourself that you’re special if you are in the purple or Blue rank but in reality you’re just in the top 1% like the people in the red (math does not lie don’t argue the stupid fact go ask your phone what is 1% of 1 million)
@@michaeldietz2648 not once did i say i was special lol its just my opinion red ranks are easy
I like the idea of adding the replay menu to the pre-match screen. That’d be a nice little QoL thing
Hmm I wonder if this is more prevalent in Fujin+.
I've been playing in Red Ranks for a while now (that seems to be my current skill cap) and I'll get the 1 and doners, but haven't had a single plugger. Now that I say this i'll probably see more though.
Yeah it's nothing big for me either, about 5 people dced on me in days
Stuck in red too 😢
Adding watch replay into the ranked system that you are talking about is extremely difficult!
That's stupid as fuck. Now people will just spam till you rage quit.
@@SuntanXxSuperman Huh?? If someones spamming outplay them lol?? You sound like a green rank 🤣
I've only run into 1 quitter but I'm only midway through the green ranks. This is the first fighting game I've actually gone into ranked with so it's kinda lame to hear about all the disconnects
Another thing that might help is that if you dc x number of times. You need to complete x number of games to start getting points again.
So the disconnection rate doesn’t change for these people?
You can’t win them all
I didn't start encountering pluggers until red ranks.
They starting around orange and in red it’s very annoying, as if red rank and being in the top 1% isn’t good enough for them lol
At higher rank people tend to care about ranks more than low rank players.
I don't really run into this on Tekken 8 but then again I'm still low ranked. But yeah I haven't had 1 disconnect yet .
Had to change my screen name to Ben Crashn to hopefully get across that im not plugging on them, ive just been getting crashes during matches since the last update.
i kinda wanna make an experiment that if i face a plugger and block em, how many blocks i can get in 1 month
Man i just watched this video and its super cool. Harada and Murray should watch it either.
I mean when I get plus 60 and -200 why would I not especially if my opponents quit so I don’t even get my +60.
10:45 hey, thank you for putting in my idea!
For me not using upscale technology like FSR and using TAA fixed the problem.
You learn tekken quicker from a loss or by playing through the best to 3
i do remember it was the same in Tekken 7 like you said unfortunately, people with 92 win streaks that always plugged when they were about to lose. however now with the even more rampant outrage and their previous statement, i feel like it will eventually be resolved. i think they’re trying to find an almost universal fix to try and completely shut it down rather than a sub-par one that they’ll quickly find a workaround to. i liked your suggestion for the warnings and penalties, however i don’t think player match plugs should be punished much in comparison (perhaps just a small time punishment at most) as well as 1 game quits. some people just don’t want to rematch, i know i hated the thought of rematching mfers like Marduk back in 7. great video again overall though.
I’ve lost my streak to pluggers like 10 times. It’s some bullshit.
If Mortal Kombat has it figured out then I don’t know why Tekken doesn’t
Harada: ....NO
Lol but seriously, everything you said in this vid was spot on
I've played 145 matches online, 133 in Ranked and not even once did somebody DC on me.
Otherwise I agree with everything you said.
I'm only in orange ranks yet though, might be why.
If there isn't already a penalty like what you said, which is a great solution they should definitely add it, and a reward for the one who's still left.
The simple solution is an automatic ban from online matches for frequent plugging. That's all they need to do.
Look at other comp games with heavy penalties for quitters, you see far less quitters far less often, and the cases of innocents disconnecting only really happens rarely that a small leway is enough to protect them (3 strikes is reasonable, but honestly I think after the first DC of the day you should start getting penalties which ramp up the more you do it)
That happened to me 2 weeks ago. People quit alllll the time. It’s annoying
Unless that quit % is what's putting u in with people like that. Every person I play has 0%
@bilbo_gamez6195 Right now there is a bug, even people who RQ on purpose they're quit % doesn't go up at all, I have seen the same people who quitted on me multiple times and they're % is still 0 so...
My WinStreak was Thanos Snapped because of a Rage Quit
This happens in every fighting game, I saw that in Project L they are going to finally implement that thing that the one who disconnects loses.
Legit I’m getting so tired of one and done had a couple before heading to the gym rn, I hope they just put in a lock system so people can’t run in ranked.
yeah i agree, 2 days ago session was basically me losing or me getting quit when i was winning.
It was absurdly frustrating
Your proposed solution sounds good. It could firstly penalize by demoting and losing points, then if it continues it could temporarily ban the player from playing Ranked mode.
I have experienced this but not to that extent. Maybe that’s at higher ranks, not sure. I’m couple matches off mighty ruler.
Yea. It's very annoying. And if I gone through the trouble to block literally every asshat that does that I'd run out of space
The solution is actually simple, just count the plugger as a loss. There, hire me namco.
another qol that i'd like to see is to add an option to go to practice mode with the opponent character after the match has ended just like SF6, it would save a loading or two in practice mode.
You’re bang on Mike!
Great video man. I've found ranked was fine until people started talking about people plugging then all of a sudden it was rampant, maybe just a coincidence
but that's what some plungers are like they find it funny and the speed inwhich we get matches now coupled with tekken 8 being more stressful than 7, for the time being you notice plungers more and those who plug will stress out and plug more.
That’s nothing compared to the RQ in DBFZ.
One yoshi pc Player i faced became a pro after i was 2 rounds up. For some reason his special style Window went on and off multiple times. That was the Moment when He was able to block everything
Respect to playing the full set all the way through, win or lose.
New sub ❤
This Tekken 8 is my very first Tekken game I have played and I was playing last night and I had nothing but rage quits
The only thing I don’t like about this game, but it’s a big problem for me… are these DAMN 50/50 man… like gah damn wtf is this💀
I think they had it somewhat down in T7, if you dc'd you got a loss and lost points (idk if that was only at the end) i believe you needed a DC % of like 4 though.
How about this: Rank points gained are lowered by disconnection rate of your last x ranked matches (for example 50) after account is flagged for frequent disconnects and taken off after achieving close to 100% match completion in the same number of matches.
I agree, but there is a crash that tekken 8 has for lots of players where in an online match the game crashes. That should be sorted first.
