  • Fix Enter Network Credentials Error on Windows 11/10 (Guide)
If you have more than one personal computer on same network, file sharing between computers is very easy for you. Now, if you want to use this feature you have to enter certain Network credentials (which protects the files of the computer from falling in wrong hand). But some of the Windows 10 and Windows 11 users are reporting to have an issue as they are facing ‘Enter Network Credentials Access Error‘ when they are trying to access the files on another computer on the same network.
Some Windows users are reporting they can’t access other Windows computer on their network because they can’t enter the credentials to connect to another computer because the login fails with the Enter network credentials error message The user name or password is incorrect. This post provides the most adequate solutions to this issue.
    Issues addressed in this tutorial:
    windows security enter network credentials
    enter network credentials windows 11
    enter network credentials not working
windows security enter network credentials disable
    enter network credentials to connect
how to remove enter network credentials in windows 10
enter network credentials access is denied
how to solve enter network credentials
enter network credentials to access shared folder
    enter network credentials microsoft account
enter network credentials username and password
enter your network credentials to connect to another computer
windows asking to enter network credentials
enter network credentials enter your credentials to connect to
network authentication please enter user credentials
If you have a local network, you’re probably sharing files between computers. In order to protect your PC from unauthorized access Windows 11 and 10 use network credentials.
This is decent protection, but several users reported certain issues when asked to enter network credentials on Windows 11 and 10.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Alienware, Razer, MSI, Huawei , Microsoft Surface, and Samsung.

(windows eleven computer (Microsoft password)computer connecting to older computer with windows 8)In the search bar type Credential Manager, click on Windows Credentials, Microsoft account user, edit, copy User Name... then go to the windows asking for the credentials and paste. put your own password for the computer you are using not the other computer. Good luck... It took me for ever to try it to make it work. And it was that simple.

What he means, is on the other computer that's asking for the credentials. You first have to put in the username and password for the actual computer you are using, and then after it asks for the credentials of the computer you are trying to connect to.

    NOTE
If you're using the same Microsoft Account on both devices and are having trouble connecting, it may be due to a cached password on the device you're trying to connect. If you've changed your password recently, try using the previous password instead. This resolved the issue for me after struggling for a few hours.

silly question, but are these setting on the computer that has the folder one wants to share or is this on the computer that you want to give access to connect to the computer that has the folder?

seems to me the only way for this to work reliably is to turn on the notorius SMB1 in "turn windows features on/off"

All these vids l watched about this problem assume that you have the administrator password, and if this is a workstation that was attached to the domain then you are shit out of luck.

I've been working in techncial support for nealy 30 years and this issue always comes back to haunt me: sometimes, on some machines, it feels like you have to rip the OS apart to try to get shares working......and they still don't work. Then for no reason, on the third or fourth reboot they start working?
    Why?
Makes me want to turn on SMB1 everytime! :-)

Hmmm i've tried some guides and they told me to turn on SMB1 which didn't help so i just left it like that. What does SMB1 actually do ?

why? because Microsoft doesn't know how to design or write its software. It's all archaic, ridiculous, user-unfriendly, and super-bugged. that's just how MS does things.
