Just updated my CPR and first aid last week and it's *not* recommended to POUR the water if you have a choice, submerge your burnt area in a tub of cold water to reduce the chance of your skin sliding off. This is only for 3rd degree burns since the burn is down to your fat tissue and your skin will be loose. You want to keep as much skin on your body as possible. Edit: obviously do what is available to you. It's just good to know that if you pour the water (with a 3rd degree burn) your skin may just slosh off and that increases your risk of infection. Assess your situation and go from there. There is no right or wrong so stop comparing the two techniques 🤣

2 things. 1, definitely still take them to the hospital. a burn like that needs to have the blisters removed and then it needs to be cleaned daily for a while to prevent infection. and 2, a burn can get worse in the first 72 hours so even if you don't go to the ER (though you should), definitely change the bandages daily and take a look at the wound (if the skin turns white that is a 3rd degree, burns like that scar visibly for at least 2 years, i'd know). also keep it out of the sun for a while (2 years) even after it heals because a scar can become more prominant/mess up the skin barrier and you may need surgery to fix it.
I've always been told to NEVER have the water running (room temperature) directly ON the burn but let the water flow down the arm to reach the burned area (My native language is french I hope what I am saying is understandable)

I was burned about 7 yrs ago. The medics came into my home & laughed. They proceeded to make jokes about putting apple cider vinegar & mustard on the burns. They refused to bring me to the hospital because they determined it was only 1st degree burns. I was in the ER 3 days later. The ER referred me to the best burn unit in the country & it was only then when I was seen by the burn unit that I finally received proper care. It was not 1st degree burns, but deep 3rd degree.
I’ve been a chef for over 8 years and my advice is… mustard. The vinegar in mustard helps cool the burn better than water and keeps the burn from more blistering.

Bonus points if you can get your hands on special gauze for burns. I keep it in my apt. at all times, and you can easily get it at the pharmacy. It's covered in special fat / ointment, so that it won't stick to the wound painfully when it needs to be changed.
Can answer as a combat medic - don't use aluminized/plastic part, because you isolate the overheated part of skin under it and cooling effect can't reach the injured flesh. The best choice is to use hydrogel gauze or just a regular bandage with periodical moisturizing.
You can also use a bowl of water and put a few ice cubes in it (you don't want it freezing, just enough to be cold.) It works better for just a hand or something that fits in a bowl though.
Wrap the wound loosely with aluminized gauze pads and a bandage. After that go to a hospital 🏥

It's the first time in my life I learned that there's an l aluminized gauze in this world.😅
Is it okay to put gauze? Does the skin will tear also when we pull it?
Why use aluminized gauze and not just gause? Oh maybe bc aluminum is cold metallic? Maybe...

Pretty cool I never knew that was how you treat burn wounds
It's impossible not to smile while watching your videos.
Dont forget to desinfect before bandage, and use cooling pads below the bandage.

Bonus points if you can get your hands on special gauze for burns. I keep it in my apt. at all times, and you can easily get it at the pharmacy. It's covered in special fat / ointment, so that it won't stick to the wound painfully when it needs to be changed.
You channel helps us so much!
Can answer as a combat medic - don't use aluminized/plastic part, because you isolate the overheated part of skin under it and cooling effect can't reach the injured flesh. The best choice is to use hydrogel gauze or just a regular bandage with periodical moisturizing.
O médico me passou uma pomada de aluminio isso me ajudou a nao ter marcas
@@brunasilva6551U can also use oil and salt, it's hurt but after sometime u feel nothing happens and there is no scar
@@brunasilva6551Мазь-это не изолирующий материал.
Самый правильный вариант. Спасибо Вам за глубокое познание.

"I'm running out of time-" 💀💀
Your a good doctor
The water bills after this: 📈📈📈
You can also use a bowl of water and put a few ice cubes in it (you don't want it freezing, just enough to be cold.) It works better for just a hand or something that fits in a bowl though.
Счёт за лечение ожога ,(если его не охладить ,) будет намного больше
Just know you helped a good amount of people😊
School nurses were stunned as u say ice doesn’t help a burn wound 😃
*"can you please treat it already"*
Thank god I ran into a medic for info 🎉
Он так заботливо перевязывает руку:)
Bro the waters probably gonna sting so bad 😭😭😭
