Awesome Jack!
I think the open fire cooking makes it stand out also - its so good done that way.
Its really hard finding flap here, but i snag it as soon as i see it. Flank is easier though .-- made some yesterday on my little weber :)
The best carne asada I ever had was from a little store in westmoreland Ca.. It was a dry rub with 17 spices and they had it sitting in a 5gal. bucket, when you went in you tell them how many lbs. and they grab a huge flank out of the bucket and cut what you want. Let me tell you something, it was AMAZING!!
Definitely A must try for my Fam. We llike the Beef Tips recipe!
Oh yeah!!!
I love adobo seasoning....carne asada looks dang good!!
"looks like afterbirth" .... your camera lady.... I love her sense of humor. Thank you, you really made me crack up.
đ
she made me leave.....
I swear that's Parsley lol...anyway made this recipe with cilantro like you said and it was the best carne asada I've ever had!! Thanks for sharing ;)
No, it was cilantro, I promise. lol Glad you liked it Norma! Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks Sal, Love some Carne Asada and the soy sauce was a winner.
Kool...tks Mr. Drinkwater! Looks awesome!
Thank you for giving it a watch and a comment. A good Carne Asada is hard to find around here so I have to take matters into my own hands :)
Looks Good Jaxx. Gonna try it I do believe
That great Karl O let me know how it turns out..
Will do!
It can Carne right over here on mah plate! yum!
Hhahaha I got you , just say the word :)
I can smell that from New York. I will try out this recipe this weekend. Cheers!
If you can't find skirt that looks good or can't find flap, flat iron steak from the chuck works pretty good for this.
Awesome as always my friend, we love Carne Asada on the BBQ Rando ranch!
Thank you brother man. How have you been?
@@JaxxDrinkwater I am good buddy! Getting very excited for the July 4th holiday!!!!!!
Yes indeed, the open fire for the win.
Great recipe Jaxx. Totally dig the grill set up too.
Man Tango I tell you brother, the Kudu is so freaking fun to cook on. it's quickly becoming my favorite way to grill.
I think I am going to have to look into one of these. Not like a 'need' another cooker, but hey...
@@tangojoe9694 it's worth every penny I paid for it in my opinion. An excellent conversation piece and it has a bunch of accessories you can get... It's funny you just commented because I was just thinking of you for about the last hour which is how long it took me to find that song you play in your videos. It sounds like a "Puscifer song"
@@JaxxDrinkwater Just looked up Puscifer, some good stuff for sure!
It's the kiss of fire that makes it!!
Hell yea!!
I'm off to the store to get some steaks!!
Agree with you brother. you can make Carne other ways but the fire is the best way in my opinion.
That's the đŁ diggity! I'm all about that carne out here in the southwest amigo.
Timing on this is perfect. I have 12 pounds of flank steak I am making on Sunday.
12 pounds holy cow, :) sound like it's gonna be a great weekend.
Nothing like that charcoal flavor. Instant read themometers work good on cakes and breads as well. And even on frozen crap from the freezer. I use mine all the time. Thank you for the recipe, Jaxx
You are right my brother ..those thermometers are life-changing or at least makes life easier.
Hey brother thanks for the recipe, how can i get knife like that? I looked them up cant seem to get to a place where to order and purchase one. Please help me.
Here is Steve's with 73 Forges email address. Tell him where you saw it and Jaxx sent you. He will hook you up.

I am Mexican and I approve this message :)
Dude!!! Wrap me up about 6 tortillas with just that meat and I'm a happy man :D Looks killer Jaxx!
Thanks, Russ, I had never thought of using soy sauce before but it turned out really well. The fire definitely makes it in the end though. Cheers man and Happy Fathers day!
Looks delicious, my fav is rib eye sliced at 3/16 over Mexican charcoal nothing on the meat, salt when cooked.
Nice
My favourite Mexican food ! On an open fire = even better.
Carne Asada tacos are my favorite.. followed by a good chorizo.. :)
Niiiiice! Mouth watering.
Iâve heard a couple different opinions on flap meat, Iâve heard that itâs skirt steak from some and itâs not from others.
Anyway, good vid, appreciate you sharing
Flap meat and flank are two different cuts. If you can get flap you should definitely check it out. It's really really good. I'm able to get it at Costco. I think Publix may can order it as well.
Do you got a link for that beast knife? Cant find it!
Tell hime Jaxx sent ya.. just send him a message,. His name is STEVE. czcams.com/channels/3t5oLIc5VFopCmdMhidzVg.htmlvideos
Nice ingredients. Did the two pieces become one over night? lol. Oh yea, I bet that turned out awesome tasting Looks good!
Oh I'm gonna get my wofe to try your recipe!! Nice shirt and nicer knife @73forge
Man that looks great. I have never tried Carne Asada before but sure would love to. I'm assuming that Cilantro is a top ingredient? Or is there something that you could sub for it? I can't stand the taste of Cilantro.
Hey, Scott, I'm sure you could sub in some Flat-leaf parsley instead of the cilantro. It would be a totally different flavor profile but certainly doable.
You must remember this is a Latin American dish and the flavors accentuate the meal. So using cilantro is a given. Parsley is an herb used in Europe. Either way you use whatever you choose.
I'm on this one, thanks bruh
Grape seed oil not listed in the ingredients list, just noticed that after setting up for a 24 hour marinade. Hope it comes out good
You'll be fine!
Carne asada! You seasoned that up really well and I wish you had small-O-vision! Hell, taste-O-vision more like it!
Hahaha if there were either of those I'd be fat fo sho!
Thats a cool beard pony tail
Yummy đđ
Open fire indeed makes everything better!! 73 Forge RULES!!!
Agree with both those statements. Wish I could have seen you at U2B3 brother.
When i think of carne asada, all i want to do is eat the Meat, nothing else. I don't want to taste cilantro, i want to taste carne asada!! Just meat, any sides, yes some Mexican corn and that's it.
Whatâs was the internal temperature you got on your meat?
Iâve never even heard of that before. Looks pretty good though
What? never heard of that before? I need to get you down to Mobile and fatten you up brother.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Carne Asada Fries next? whachu think!
Would this work with placenta meat? Just curious.
Yes, of course, it's a bit gamey though.
My neighbor used to BBQ over wine barrel wood. đŁđŁđŁ
that beard is a legend
Try putting a wet then ringed out towel under your cutting board to make it not slide around
What do you you use instead of soy sauce? also does that make a difference in taste? if so how? im not a big fan of soy sauce
Salt. Soy sauce helps to salt the meat. You can just use regular table salt
damn you all need to come down to texas and try the real carne asada! but that look goo too dont get me wrong!
Have been. Thanks for watching!
Carneee asada! Woohoo!
Your lady has quite the wit, LOL! Did I hear her correctly when you put the meat on the grill - it looks like "afterbirth"? LMAO. Actually, the meat looks yummy - I'm in the "well done" camp so the end pieces were right up my alley! Another great video Jaxx!
Yes, you heard correctly Colleen, she said afterbirth hahahaa. Thanks so much for the comment sweetheart.
Yeah right immediately!
5:35 "Thats what she said."
Este gringo si sabe.
Dude; here's a tip to stabilize your board and improve your cutting skills. Get a dampened kitchen towel, lay it flat on your counter and place the cutting board on it. BOOM
Thatâs totally parsley lol the leaves are different cilantro leaves have small jagged edges as the one your chopping is bigger wider edges with is parsley
There are different varieties of cilantro, not just one. Google it and look at images and you will clearly see the different varieties. I assure you I'm using cilantro in this video. It's actually organic cilantro. Next time you are at your grocery find the organic cilantro and look at it, sometimes you have to smell it to tell the difference. Two totally different flavors.
The son of Santa Clause.
Safer to anchor your cutting board with a damp kitchen or paper towel underneath.
Did she just say it looks like AFTERBIRTH?
She did. lol
we call that fajita in S. Texas

This white guy might as well be Mexican. Looks amazing
Hahaha Thank you I yo... I'm Mexican on the inside :)
Thought about grilling some asada again, today on the grill... Had to come back and watch your video again. Once again... Looks amazing. I really like that knife you have. What kind is it?
Don't ever say that you got this recipe in regards of watching Sam's recipe...
that's 100% parsley, not cilantro, but I'm still going to try this recipe (without parsley of course) :)
You're 100% wrong, but enjoy and please do stick with cilantro!
Wheres the grilled jalapeño
awe man... you are using soy in this... have you not seen how much Sam gets flamed for this? haha. Looks freaking awesome!! I made some with Sams recipe a few weeks ago and I loved it!! But the little touch of the chipolte pepper...sounds amazing!!
Yea I saw where he was getting tons of crap about it. hahaha, I get tons of crap about my beard so it won't bother me.
Thatâs parsley
No it's not it's organic Cilantro.
Just watched your video I'm pretty sure that's parsley and not cilantro are using their
No sir it's Cilantro trust me. Just probably a different variety than you are used to buying.
That's what carne asada means grilled meat.
Thanks for clearing that up for us!
@@JaxxDrinkwater LOL
You forgot the orange juice
Where the hell are y'all coming up with soy sauce from???
Itâs just me version sweetheart .. please just try it and tell me what you think
Did you cry!
Afterbirth? Wow
Tasty though.
His wife is funny đ. After birth haha
That dammm soy sauce!! The secret
Mexican guy here... not sure what recipe that is, but it is *far* from being a Carne Asada recipe.
You being a Mexican guy and all you know that "Carne Asada " means what? "grilled meat" yes? Are you saying Mexicans are the inventors of grilled meat?.. I don't understand! Last time I checked "grilled meat" aka "Carne Asada" can be made anyway one wants to make it.
SPEAKING OF TIME MANAGEMENT: If using a garlic press to process MORE THAN ONE clove of garlic, you don't really have to clear the press every time...Now I know you forgot MORE than I will ever know about the culinary arts but...really?!
Afterbirth huh.......
Didn't taste like it though.đ
Lol!!! I bet it ain't gonna taste like afterbirth
Not trusting the white man to make the best carne asada I ever had đ
Yea, ok cool!
Cilantro Nope, no way.
Oh hell nah
Best? Definitely not.
Your and your camera person's comments at 4:45 earned a thumbs down from me. There's some things that just shouldn't be said, or at the very least, remain unedited, in a cooking video.
