TUCSON, ARIZONA - Welcome to Tucson, Arizona, one of the best Mexican food cities in the United States, and one of the great places to eat Sonoran Mexican food. When it comes to Sonoran food, the King of all dishes is carne asada, or grilled steak - grilled meat. In Northern Mexico is where they have cattle ranches that produce the best beef in the country. Tucson has many authentic local restaurants and street food stalls that specialize in carne asada, and today we’re going on an ultimate carne asada tour of Tucson!
Thanks to my friends Carlos and Annette for joining us on this tour and Alejandro (if you’re in Tucson and need transportation, look him up).
📍 Los Tacos Apson (goo.gl/maps/5ctxE6Ka734KqV7b8) - First place is Los Tacos Apson one of the best taquerias for carne asada in Tucson, and one of the best in the United States! They have a variety of things from the grill, including beef ribs, steak cuts, calf testicles, and a few other unique parts. They grill everything over mesquite to give all meat an amazing smoky taste. Their tacos and ribs and outstanding!
📍 El Guero Canelo (goo.gl/maps/wumTrXdEe8Pac5CPA) - Next up we met up with the owner of El Guero Canelo to taste his version of carne asada. He grills his high quality beef over mesquite and the burritos are huge. I love their salsa and toppings bar.
📍 Taqueria Aqui Con El Nene (goo.gl/maps/LzfHu7DTrYQaKkB57) - Continuing on this Mexican street food tour, Taqueria Aqui Con El Nene is another place that specializes in carne asada, especially Obregon style. Their taco yaqui, with includes carne asada, mushrooms, and bacon all melted within an open faced green chile and settled onto two overlapping flour tortillas is insanely delicious.
📍 Karamelo King (goo.gl/maps/9yJTJ4GYCse1Wjru7) - Finally to complete this Mexican street food tour in Tucson, we went to Karamelo King to eat a karamelo, which is basically a stuffed quesadilla. They grill the carne asada fresh, then melt cheese on a tortilla, load it up with toppings, and serve it with onions and salsas on the side. It’s absolutely spectacular!
And that completes this ultimate King of carne asada, Mexican street food tour in Tucson, Arizona - again one of the best Mexican food cities in the United States!

Im not even Mexican, but lemme tell you MEXICAN FOOD IS THE BEST TASTING FOOD ON EARTH TODAY AS WE SPEAK. You can't tell me in all Mexican dishes it's super flavorful and everything is always seasoned 🎯 never without flavor. If I eat a hamburger which is American food... There's some hamburgers that are just no flavor and some with flavor. Mexican food always got the FLAVOR ‼️‼️‼️
Mexican food is great, as the Mexican people is. Viva Los Mexicanos. What we have in common is the chili, and the colors of our flags. Great red white and green. Love from a Hungarian. Love Mexican people our brothers in faith and fighting for freedom. Go Mexicanos. God bless you.
Hungarian people are great too very friendly too. Hello from the distance
Gracias 🇲🇽🇭🇺
Mexican from California.
Thank you for the shout out. We are a proud culture. We also accept anyone who appreciates our traditional influences. We love ALL people. Mexico is a poor country with lots of riches. If you ever travel to Mexico, you will be surprised at the humbleness from the countrymen.
Peace to all our Hungarian brothers and sisters. Even though we are in different parts of the world...we are still as one.
im mexican from sonora, we have the best roast beef in the country and we cook flour tortillas
🙋
Here in the US we have our choice of many world cuisines but the US and Mexico share an inseparable legacy of cuisine and history. Mexican food is the best.
I love this. I love the food, the people and the culture. I’m a middle aged white dude but I feel more at home with my Mexican friends than any other people. I love and respect their culture and food so much. This makes me homesick for a place I’ve never been and for people I’ve never met. Thank you for sharing this experience.
As an Asian person I can say tacos is my favorite food. I think I can eat tacos for days! 😂
Take care Mark and everyone. ✌️😊✌️

I love seeing people who are so passionate about their roots and where they come from. I also love how Mark celebrates their culture with them and makes solid friends along the way. All because of mutual respect and a love for cuisine. You are a true patriot of life and acceptance Mark, God bless you and your family. Never stop.
czcams.com/video/-PT0ircA5YY/video.html
He is such a genuine, kind and gracious man. Food is the one thing everyone has in common and I believe that once you share a table with someone you are then family. I love learning about different cultures which includes learning different cuisines and Mark makes this possible for me as at 43 years old I'm 90% bedridden.
A patriot of life may be the most fitting description you can give this man. His positivity is contagious (Bad choice of words right now, i know)

I'm Puerto Rican from NYC. There are literally 100's of Mexican restaurants in NY in the year 2022. I went to law school in Santa Clara (San Jose) , California. I developed a taste for Mexican food there. (early 80s). The food here looks so authentic!!!!!! I feel like flying out to Arizona to check it out. GIMME SOME OF THAT CARNE ASADA!!!!!! The Mexican, Indian, Arab and Swahili people are my favorite when it comes to food. The tortillas, ribs, biryanis and chicken from these folks drives me straight to the kitchen.
That owner is a character for sure.
He was in awe of Mark's spicy tolerance...
It's an Asian thing, others don't understand. Lol!
Thai peppers actually are the spiciest peppers in the world even though Mexican and South American peppers have been given the title of the spiciest peppers. Makes you wonder if the people who gave that title is even credible or if they even tried Thai peppers. Guamanian peppers, from Guam, come in second place.🥈
No one talks about it though. They are the underdog that don't serve a lot more credit.
Spicy Asian food also comes with flavor, rather than only heat like other culture's spiciness.
With Asian spicy foods, you can still taste the heat, and it is the spiciest thing ever, but it's just not pure heat.
@@ilovenoodles7483 South American food can be spicier than thai food though, like Surinam food. Then again Surinam has a lot of Indo-Hindustan creole foods and Indonesians/Indian people are no pushovers in spiciness either.
@@ilovenoodles7483 I thought the spiciest pepper was the Carolina Ghost Reaper.
@@kwiztas I think he was talking about the peppers they usually use in each cuisine.
@@ilovenoodles7483 I'm a white boy and I eat ghost peppers and scorpion like pickled jalapenos. Carolina Reaper is insane, though!

It truly is one of the most tasty wonderful combinations of all time. While I was stationed in SanDiego 2 decades ago I was turned on to Carniasada burritos from a surf buddy of mine from there. I’m from Hawaii, and just had to have a Carniasada burrito every day of the week when not on duty. I still today can’t get enough of them. AZ does an amazing job or my favorite burrito.
