The Town of Jezza | Top Gear Africa Special

- čas přidán 19. 10. 2013
- The boys arrive in the town of Jezza, much to the delight of Jeremy. After driving through tea plantations they arrive in Mbarara and at their shabby, filthy hotel, Jeremy's bed even has faeces on it! Next morning, disgusted, they leave the hotel, whereupon, Richard has the idea (in an effort to make up for the trouble) to make their cars into 'mobile campers'.

"You'll like this, James."
"There is Jezza's back alley, well found."
this part killed me
And his little thumbs up though, had me rolled, lmao
I wonder if they went in there if they would've found the famous Jezza's Doorbell

The best ahahahah
"Christ the king hasn't risen yet." I love it james
Yoshifan9511 same here.
I'm an idiot who doesn't get the joke. Can someone explain?
SFAAPK7, basically in part of the bible Jesus rises from the dead in three days. And if someone wakes up they have risen, is a common phrase, at least here in the UK. So the shop being called Christ the King and not being open in the morning, means it hasn't risen yet.
I had a feeling thats what it meant. I am from the UK as well so thats embarrassing.
Either way thanks
Maybe needs some Viagra
Jezza/Jeremy: HAMMOOOOONNNDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Richard: *Stands there with a funny face*.
Mohammed Iqbal Your profile pic and that comment = Perfect match! XD
Remember what he said in the North Pole special?
"I will NEVER complain about hotel rooms anymore as long as I don't have to build them myself."
Well apparently he quickly forgot about making that statement...
Mind, if the only thing the motel room has is an old mattress with shit covering it, I'd yell too.
Agreed
At this moment he knew he EFT up
7:43 when Jeremy pushes James- genuine laughter and affection amongst friends, another example of why proper Top Gear worked so well!
And Hammond having a "there you go" smile and gesture at james's joke
"I'm enjoying the sounds of disaster behind me."
I heard Hammond say that as I read this.
Life quote of the day
OutdatedElectron same lol
Makes a change when it's Hammond saying it instead Hammond being the disaster.....
I don't think there ever will be another show like Top Gear...
try a show called roadkill on youtube. u might enjoy it :)
luedriver Top Gear is back! Now it's called:"The Grand Tour". All 3 hosts remain the same!

Hammond gets sentenced for 17,426 years in prison for smuggling fish tanks.
May's reaction after he walks over and checks to see if Hammond is dying his hair is absolutely priceless.
Ha ha ha ha totally, the quiet little affirmative nod to Clarkson, has me dying every time
The absolute joy of Jeremy when he sees the town.
"WOOOOW! It's MY town!"
For some reason, when I read the video title, I thought Jeremy had built some sort of experimental town he named "Jezza" and the segment was going to be about him trying to run the place.
This is pretty funny too though.

Zach Brown the fact you took the time to write that comment... stupidity of the Internet and easily offended people

7:37 its scenes like this that show they they really did love eachother like brothers
"That is characterful isn't it"
Hammond is such a salesman at heart
those ppl from the town of Jezza were so nice, humble, and hospitable.

The Top Gear Africa special is probably my favorite TG episode of all time.
Yeah the Greatest Of All Time
THats a tough one. The Botswana and Burma specials are both pretty awesome
The funny thing is that after this special aired, the sales of second hand Subaru Imprezza cars was rising, Hammond had proven how tough they are.
'Hammooooooond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'- lol
And in the beginning of the second part as James May finds out that Jeremy had very sloppily cut up his bonnet...
"CLARKSOOOOOON!"
RastaSaiyaman I remember Jeremy calling it "the bellow of a wild animal".
RastaSaiyaman CLARKSOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May (in response to his car's bonnet): ''CLARKSOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!''
His face was like "... Eh, What ?"
0:12 Richard when he sees the sign.
"Oh no.."
😂
Anyways
Curious to know what the camera crew drove and where they stayed.
haha never thought about that one! Good comment.
The camera crew ran, and they made shelter out of those weird fuzzy things on their cameras.
They drive Range Rovers, Don't know where they stay

haha
***** They only use Rovers while filming in europe. Otherwise they rent whatever utility vehicles are available in the country they are filming in. (At some points in this film you get a glimpse of them riding in Land cruisers.)
‘There is Jezzas back alley, well found!’ 😂

6:15 ... the enormous Jezza cry... and the Hammond look. Utterly Priceless.

2:47 Hammond's chair is missing!
It was probably a clip they had when they first encountered one of those speed bumps. Before they got his chair
It's just incredible how perfect the Subie was for everything
"We've come in Jezza..." These three are the Three Wisemen in Sexual Innuendo, and that is bloody hilarious. Miss them so much.
Let's be honest, during daylight hours the road with the hotel looked quite charming
just hear they voice..I start to smile..
"there is jezza back alley, well found " james is hilarious
"I'm going to have to get out and kill you very slowly I'm afraid".
Captain slow always so polite.
Honestly, I don't believe they slept in those rooms.
They probably didn't.
I think they probably either slept in the wooden chairs or their cars, depending on whose room it was
They rent a legit hotel but just dont show it
I think they would’ve found a decent hotel for them and the crew
I would of slept in the car I do t know what they expected 😂😂🤤
I love how Jeremy isn't expecting that joke from James and pushes him off the chair.
James: "Uuuuhh... We've just entered Jezza..."
Hammond: "Ooh no."
James: "Well, I say we've just entered Jezza, that's a disgusting thought. We've come into Jezza, no we haven't come into Jezza-"

Those side roads remind me of when I was in an urban area outside Nakuru, Kenya. I was on a bus and our driver was really good at navigating the terrain in 35 ft bus. Amazing drivers in Kenya.
"that is characterful isnt it?" Hamster always in a good mood ^^
I remember that, in the North Pole special, Jeremy said, "I will never again complain about the quality of a hotel room as long as I don't have to build it." Looks like he ultimately wasn't able to keep his word about that, but who can blame him in this case?
"This one has a chair AND a table! :D" gets me every time xD

"Just standing there"
"Jezza's back alley" must be one of the most famous quotes ever from Top Gear...
this one's got a chair and table. Hahahanahaha
Now, they need to come to the US and see Jamestown! I'd LOVE to see the look on Jeremy's face!

So if you're going to Africa make sure you get a Subaru since that will do the best in Africa
Jacob J sure if you wanna break down
SweetNibblets or Mercedes
I love at the end how Jeremy tries to push James over. They’re literally like three mates in high school all just taking the piss for a living.
6:17 me in my parents room at 4 am explaining why I pooped the bed
I dont mind the American version (and I am a Yank)... but what it lacks is exactly what MAKES the UK version... credibility. Hammond, May and Jezza are genuinely mates. What comes with that is the piss taking that goes on between mates. The American version... it is obvious that hey are just TV presenter... not friends and everything they do is forced and fake.
The American version is pretty bad in every way...and I'm an American, but you do have a good point that perhaps the fact that Jeremy, Richard and James are all genuinely good friends, is the most charming element of the British version and that feeling of brotherly camaraderie is certainly lacking in ours.
I’m American and the British version is the only one worth watching
Never in my life have I seen an American use the word 'mate'
Choosing people who have good chemistry together is forbidden in America.
@@michaeladie10 what's really charming is that they're themselves and they are quite ordinary men, not some effeminate metrosexuals that all have the same brainwashing

This is my favorite top gear special hands down
This was a great segment thanks.
"Wow! It's MY town!!!!!!" I love those guys! :') Admittedly, I did stop watching Top Gear when they left :(
These specials had much potential. They where fun but i would have loved to see more of the people of Africa!
Top gear is great because when they go places like Botswana Iraq or Vietnam geopolitics doesen't matter. Everything is on a basic human level.
6:17 Hammond looking like a character from a snuff film.
"This one's got a chair and a table!" Oh James, I love you.
It's only that I can't like this video twice. Great content Richard, May, and Jerry.
Lots of love from Kenya +254.
I wish this show was endless, like forever.
I miss the old Top Gear with Jeremy, Richard, and May
