You can talk about the wall that is gonna be built to obscure Fuji view in a famous picture-taking spot.
I find it understandable and want to add my experience at Fuji last month. The amount of tourists in Fuji was absolute insanity. All the public buses couldn't handle everyone, full capacity and had to skip stops even though more ppl wanted to go on. The drivers were also running out of patience because of littering inside bus and I noticed few foreigners jumping out at the entrance without paying rather than going to the front exit. Also the streets in Fuji are entirely of tourists it didn't feel like Japan. The train station, constant heavy flow of tourists being dropped off, it was sardine chaos trying to scan out the 2 suica machines to get out.

Leaving comment about night stream discussion:
so the "too many foreigners" problem in japan. First with Kyoto/Gion closing down a lot of streets due to foreigner nuisance. Then Fujikawaguchiko blocking off certain views of Fujisan because of public nuisance and local-life disruption. Do you think the problem is more of the foreigners who are visiting Japan or is it a combination of visiters and people who are living in Japan? How do you think these changes and the public view on stuff will affect people who are looking to move to Japan to work there if it will affect them at all?

We've had the same thing happen here when a place suddenly gets social media buzz, then it's over saturated with people going to it. Unfortunately, that's what happens, when the internet promotes certain places or spots. The local governments need to address the issue, instead of turning it into a 'foreigner problem' issue. Hard to say what the real answers are, but for sure designating places where tourists can go for the same experience, is necessary. Rather than leaving things to get worse and the locals have to deal with the headaches. If that makes sense.
