In China, everything is literally a scan with a QR code. Even on Taxi, you scan a QR code. Small food stalls. You literally just scan a QR and the payment goes through.

This is actually kind of a thing in Korea, too(bet it's a thing in China as well lol). Not this obvious but I do purposely pronounce English in the way Koreans born and raised in Korea who are deemed good at English would speak because if I just do the full blown American style English I grew up with they'd actually make fun of me saying my pronunciation is weird

It always depends on what kind of anime it is and where you're talking about it & with who. There are specific festivals in different countries where people meet and can exchange about anime and games. There are anime events, gaming events but also street festivals for the culture itself (Nihonmachi Streetfair San Francisco CA, Japantag Düsseldorf (Japan day in Düsseldorf) Germany, gamescom etc.). I also want to mention that we have a Japanese film festival in Germany specifically made for Japanese movies and anime, so people are getting to know more about other movies from Japan too. During this festival it's possible to ask actors and directors questions to the movies and you can rate the movies. If you ask what kind of people are coming to this festival, they're a mix of weebs and seriously interested film enthusiasts, so it's quite interesting. It's called Nippon Connection if you want to look it up.
