Thanks for the review. I've been using the ROCKBROS Photochromic Sports Sunglasses from Amazon and have been happy with them until playing in the cold and they are starting to fog. The design is very similar, but for much cheaper. I went ahead and purchased the CRBNs for the extra lens and anti-fog properties. I don't think I will ever use the bottom frame, it looks really bulky. I too have been hit in the eye from a deflection off my paddle, and it scratched my cornea. Worst pain I have felt in my life, 1 day of not being able to see, 4 visits to the eye doctor, 3 days off work. It could have been worse. It's not worth the risk.
Damn I’m glad it wasn’t worse brother. I think you’ll love these. I also use mine without the bottom portion in the semi frameless style with the nose piece locked in. They are super comfy and look pretty cool too haha
Amazing video! Which prescription lens did you use?
This is a cheaper alternative to those who wear glasses. Prescriptions sunglasses costs an arm and a leg.
The prescription inserts come with the glasses!
Another plus!!
@@liiiindalang absolutely 😊
@@liiiindalang prescription lenses you’ll have to have on your own but the insert that holds the lenses comes with the glasses!
Ordered a pair of these immediately and used your code. Thanks for putting out great content, I got a Viva Pro Gen 2 bc of your videos as well. It is a great singles paddle.
Heck yeah dude!! I appreciate it very much. Always trying to make the best most informative content I can 😊
Enjoy!!!
Been waiting for a review on these as I’m looking to buy another pair of protective eyewear! Thanks for the detailed description. Will be grabbing a pair now!
They are legit. And they look great too! I was honestly really impressed and I feel like they are at a solid price given everything you receive!
Completely agree with the price for what you get. I have a smaller head so will be interested in how they fit. Ordered my pair with your code earlier!
@@dustinmedley1919 thanks man! For me it’s not about the small kick backs but more about spreading useful information into this community I love. I appreciate you.
Steven. Thanks for this review. It was insightful for my purchase.
I have a question and am a bit confused.
The packaging says that it is "100% uv protection" but you say in this video that they are not polarized. How do you get UV protection without polarized lenses?
It's a non polarized UV protection from what I understand. Visible light transmission (VLT) range is 15-83% and darkens to UV400 based on the amount of UV light exposure.
@@stspickleball I guess that seems contradictory to me . I need to do more research. I guess I still don't understand what " polarized" means
Thank you, Steven, for the great review of these glasses. I recently got them based off of your review and used your discount code and these glasses are well worth the price of just over $85 for all that you get and the quality, durability, and interchangeability of these.
Glad to help my friend. I really appreciate the feedback!
Bought the glasses just because of this review and used your discount code. Keep up the great work I love your videos!
Heck yeah! Keep those eyes safe :) Thank you so much I really appreciate the kind words.
Thank's I am shopping for glasses I take good note of your évaluation
These are my favorite I use them every day now!
I had a pair of Tifosis and the anti-fog slits at the bottom of the lenses were a bit of a distraction for my field of vision. I noticed the CRBNs have "FortifEye" printed on the bottom left of the lens and worried I will see that when I am playing.
I haven’t noticed it one time. I legit forget they are there and I’m hyper sensitive to details like that. I think you’d honestly love them. Just DEFINITELY take off the bottom border 😊
been searching for the right protective eyewear and analytics send your video . Use your code and save . will definitely use it . TY
Heck yeah!! These are definitely the best I wear them every time I play and often forget I even have them on.
Great and timely review. Is the nose area adjustable? I usually have to buy Asian fit frames for this reason (compensate for lack of bridge and higher cheek bones 😬)
@paddleroyale, Yep! Nose is rubber and adjusts wider and thinner. Our ambassadors have been testing them for a while and we've had people with all different shape noses, faces, etc. give them a go. They've pretty much universally fit everyone. Worst case though, we've got a great return policy so not an issue if they end up not working out.
@@crbnpickleball Thank you for the quick response!
"My highly analytical brain..." I can relate and appreciate your breakdowns on Pickleball gear, so thank you.. it's much appreciated and I picked these glasses up!😜 Keep on swatting in the free world brother....
Woot!! Enjoy you'll love them! Just remove the bottom frame so the bottom is edgeless and you'll be happy :)
@@stspickleball I actually love the stormtrooper look because I grew up on Star wars in the '70s so I think I might keep the bottom frame intact unless there's a functional reason that you recommend that? 😎
Haha love this 😂 I think you forget they are there more often without the bottom frame which is nice but stormtrooper it up!!
i have these glasses and like them....the thing I noticed the most about other glasses was they put a lot of pressure right behind my ears on the side of my head that I had to remove the glasses after 2 games (1 game if I was losing because that's all I could think about...LOL)...I got some Oakleys for $110 so I got a good deal and the clear lenses too...look more stylish but not transitioning like the CRBN
Yeah the CRBN glasses are the first ones I legit forget I have on while playing which I love.
Thanx for dropping the 411, and have a freaking wonderful day!!
YOU have a freaking wonderful day sir 😎
Does it have asian fit? And also, does it slip off the nose or no? I mean compared to the Oakleys. The Oakleys have Unobtanium, slip resistant nosepiece and temples?.
No slippage and I have a very large nose and it fits perfect :)
@@stspickleballthanks!
Hi, nice video. I was wondering if the nose piece is adjustable to fit a smaller bridge of nose? I find that if the nose piece isn't adjustable, then it sits more against my face, and even if i wear a sweatband some perspiration goes onto the lens of my glasses.
@bruce3412, Yes! The nose is adjustable. It can easily be made more narrow or wider just with a pinch of your fingers. We have a great return policy even in the worst case, but I'm sure they will fit you well.
@@crbnpickleball thanks for the info.
@@bruce3412 You're gonna love them
Just ordered the Pivot on your recommendation. Not entirely satisfied with my Oakley Flak 2.0 with the prizm and clear lenses, I hope the Pivot works well for me.
They are still my favorite and my absolute go to. Just take the bottom frame off!
I just received my pair. I cannot put the lens back in securely. What am I doing wrong?
Make sure the top corners are fully in. Even bend the frame out a touch and really push the corners up and in and report back!
I’ve had a problem with fogging on another pair of safety glasses I bought. Have you run into this issue with these glasses?
Zero fogging I took the bottom frame portion off and honestly sometimes forget I am even wearing them. I wear them every time I play now and I love them. Glad I sent back my Oakley Flak XL 2.0's to be honest.
can't you just have the frames with no lenses? Seems like that would eliminate fogging and still keep the ball from smacking your eye
The frame is pretty large I don’t know if I’d trust that in this case 😂 but no fogging on my end! I use them every day.
Thanks again for this video. Can you please remind me how we can get to your spreadsheet?
Yes of course just head to www.stspickleball.com I still need to update it from the last few videos I’ve done but it’s 99% complete!
@@stspickleball sorry for the easy question, thank you kindly!
@@ryrysinger no worries! No bad questions here! Just good vibes 😎
Is there a upcharge for the prescription inserts?
No upcharge
I never step on the court w/o eye pro. I like the sheild shape. It's the larger shape I think helps with fogging. Surprised to hear your Oakley issue. In this video you show a insert for prescription inserts. On the website there is no showing of this????
All CRBN Pivots come with the insert! 😊
@@stspickleball Great, ordered a pair after being sure. Thanks.
My take if you can pop glasses apart, they will pop apart when the ball hits and go in your eye.
CRBN owner actually has shared a few scenarios that have already happened with people getting smashed in the Pivot’s already and no issues. It takes some strength to pop it all apart it’s not easy to do. Hope that helps.
Can I wear them for basketball?
Oh yeah 100%
@@stspickleball how can I get them in Rx?
They have an insert you put your lenses into. Comes free with the glasses!
One more question. Does it come with a universal strap ❓
It does not come with a strap but they stay put for sure. I’m sure you can grab a cheap one on Amazon though if needed!
Question about the prescription lens insert. How large of prescription lens can fit in the insert/glasses? The picture in your video looked like the inserted lens was pretty small. I currently use Oakley with prescription lens as main lens, not inserts. I am concerned that if the CRBN insert approach has small prescription lens, then I will lose field of vision, relative to the larger Oakley lens approach.
Let me message the owner of CRBN and he will respond to your comment in a few
Hey @bd3952. Great question! I just put them on right now to try and give you my input on field of vision with the prescription insert installed. In my opinion, the insert is close enough to your eyes, that field of vision isn't negatively affected. I find it easy to look past the lenses. Having said that, you can see the edges of the inserts if you are looking for them. They don't bother me at all, but obviously that's subjective.
As far as the actual size of them, I just measured. Each eye hole is roughly 2" wide by 1.25" tall.
We're currently in the process of working to find an online lens provider to point our customers to, but most optometrists should be able to create lenses to pop into the inserts.
My advice to you is this. I'd say if you're interested in them, go ahead and by them. See how they go. We have a 30 day return policy so you can see if you like the inserts. If you don't, we'll take them back no questions asked!
