I appreciated this video. I found it because my real gold/diamond tennis bracelet started to flip after I was wearing it for months at a time. It's not a 30k bracelet, but it definitely was a pretty penny! I sleep in it, shower in it, basically never take it off and after watching this, I think maybe the newness just wore off after a few months but i know for a fact that it is real. I kept feeling like I was wearing it too much, which I'm sure I was, but was afraid that the links would break because it is definitely winding like a snake. Now I feel more comfortable, knowing that's normal. Thank you

Hi Jaco, can you tell us any rules of thumb regarding what's a good price to pay versus the melt price of the gold? Example, if I see a common 14kt gold rope and it weighs 30gm, I can calculate the gold content, but what's a good price to pay for that?

I just got my first real diamond tennis chain from a trusted vendor in NYC and I got it for an incredible deal. Because of the fact that the piece uses sterling silver rather than white gold, and the diamonds are cut relatively thin to be on the surface of the chain but not go to deep into it, they were able to limit the carat weight of the diamonds and the price of the product to be much fairer than most of the other diamond chain pieces I've seen. Super happy with my purchase so far and glad I saved up to buy a real one instead of lying to myself and others and getting fake diamonds. I've had a pendant with real diamonds on it to but the carat weight was like 1/4th of my chain.

Rhodium is in the platinum family and gives a white gold like finish when out over silver. And yes eventually the rhodium plating can fade but how long that takes depends on the quality of the plating.

I own two REAL diamond tennis chains. I also have an older one that has that square style. The two i wear now have a circle prong setting vs. the square prong setting and it flips a lot less.

lol I bought a fake one like 5 years ago with red diamonds and the flipping was severe. If it had a like button there would've been NO smashing whatsoever! I see a lot better quality now though some even use .925 sterling silver instead of that gold plated brass trash but I can see just buying one to wear every other week to go out with friends.
