Most important thing is that you were heard and had fun. Sometimes life is easy… Band conditions and contest activity helped a lot for sure. Sometimes it is amazing how good band conditions are and you will note that the setup comes second and is actually not that important. I once managed to talk to Australia during a SOTA activation with 10W. Though the chaser had a multielement beam to hear me. Lucky day. 73 de Chris DL1GKC
Touché ! This was the intention of the Video: I just wanted to share my fun. You know how many people cannot elevate an Antenna at home.... My talking is improvised and unscripted, so not even I know what I´m going to talk about ;) However: This Video shows:, that you can do radio and have fun anyways ! 73 and hope to hear you on Bands soon ! 73 Manuel; DL2MAN
I enjoy your watching your hiking daytrip QSO's with the (tr)uSDX and a wire antenna. You need a red silk scarf or plastic flag to hang on your low hanging antennas. BTW, the green pipe to keep you from falling is called a 'railing' in American English.
That´s unfortunate.... But we can´t change the weather yet. Mother nature is telling us, how to behave. Wish you luck next time, and hope to cu on band ! 73 Manuel; DL2MAN
@@dl2man I cant´t fin the printable of the porta batteries case at the link above. I have one (tr)uSDX, but I need the porta batteries printable to do something neat. Thank you!
Excellent qso as well as the video. Absolutely agree all hobbies together and enjoying - hiking, sightseeing and yes, beer too... :) Would like to get a similar (tru)SDR (DL2MAN) withe battery pack pre-assembled. How to get it in India through which vendor? Hope to here and have a great day ahead. Cheers! New Delhi
(tr)uSDX you can buy from our trusted seller: dl2man.de/where-to-buy-trusdx/ My own battery pack is part of my published housing. You need 2 3D Printed parts and a battery holder. Nothing complicated if you have access to a 3D Printer. As far as I know, nobody offers them commercially yet: www.printables.com/de/model/103619-housing-for-trusdx-qrp-transceiver

Thank you Manual. You make it feel as if we are with you in the bush. Good QSO's.
Great walk you had today. I was not so lucky, managed to set up and make 9 QSOs when a strom started forming above the hill I was on...

Manuel,
One more suggestion for portable items.
Please take a look at City-Windom antenna, this is my favorite field antenna for now.
I could only find that to buy. I try to build stuff..... Do you have a link for a technical description of this ANtenna / how it works ?
