One of the most disturbing episodes in CN history when you think about what this could do to someone's mind. I'm surprise Magic Man isn't considered a great CN villain considering his character tries to mentally break people for fun.
bc of his redemption
It's interesting because Ice King is the show's flagship villain even though he becomes more of an antihero after Season 3
@@simonsanchezkumrich8489imo it was less so a redemption and more so a sanitization, he's still desperately searching for margles and he is still possessive of the martians
@@simonsanchezkumrich8489if anything that makes him all the better a villain in a way. Like that meme "you either die a hero...etc."
In this particular instance? Magic Man only gave Finn the tools, it was the boy himself who became a villain for these Little People.
Also I like how this episode the little people see what's really going on around them and are living in their own world. There is something ironic and memorable about a god that can't communicate with the people they can manipulate.
this episode made me feel some type of way when I was a kid. It’s like that innocent, naive and curious yet perverse awareness that you feel as a kid when you’re doing something you know you shouldn’t be doing but you don’t know why it’s inherently wrong and do it anyways
5:06 Never noticed Gunter looking up as if he was either trying to figure out where the drumkit came from. Or if he actually is able to perceive Finn this entire time, isn't able to communicate with the others about it, and is wondering why only now is Finn granting them boons
Of course even as a Littler Penguin he still has supernatural powers that nobody is the wiser about
My interpretation of the phrase “I’m not coming back” is that it is the last time Magic Man allows himself to reach out for help, to get others to understand his plight. It’s like normal man’s reaching out and putting a hand on Finn’s shoulder, shaking him, shouting at him futilely.
I've always and always will find Simon's and BMO's friendship adorable
Its also kind of a meta episode about the creators and the fandom's shipping imo
This was the peak of finn being broken and too emotionally exhausted to deal with his issues
So Finn played The Sims and got carried away XD
I always wondered what the little people went off and did after
i love when occult symbolism appears in adventure time, i think it was all from jesse moynihan, i really recommend the podcasts that duncan trussell has with him. he also has some with pen ward
I’ve honestly always really liked the idea of having tiny people like this episode to watch over,
It’s like a real world version of the sims, but you can actually physically interact and stuff
this episode helped me finally delete my character ai account, thought of how i'd also spend hours with fake scenarios and i listened to jake
Wow, it’s cool. good for you!
I mean I don't really see anything wrong with it
@@Lumberjack_kingi mean yeah its not that bad in moderation but spending hours on something like that is like another form of addiction and it can mess up ur big person life
i lied (I DID delete it but i made another account)
nvm i lied again i just deleted the new one
This is the reason why Jake shouldn't have left. Seriously, he left for four months leaving his fourteen year old brother alone with those magic miniatures.
Yeah, Finn's still responsible for his own actions, but Jake is also supposed to be his older brother and he couldn't have just come back a little sooner ?
And what hilarious, if he didn't? He didn't leave? The future of adventure time would have been very different as I think it's vaguely implied that those few months are when the pups were conceived
@@enderwalkgang this is very "uHm actuAlly" of me, but there's a joke in season 8 ep 16 where jake implies the pups came from a giant swan boat at an amusement park
@@notcha8080 that's literally just y'know. The stork gave the baby. Lol
Ive always seen this episode as "Finn discovers the world of fan fiction"
It's like Finn has kind of fallen into a Sims hole. A sort of odd addiction to escapism (among other issues). I think, when I was around Finn's age, I fell into a similar hole (with Tomodachi Life funnily enough), but I climbed out myself eventually through playing other games (Team Fortress 2) and genuine human interaction with the real friends I recreated in the game.
8:00 Idk if that blush was from shame, considering the reason Flame Princess broke up with him was him wanting to see her fight the Ice King
You know I wouldn’t have minded if we got a episode or comic explaining what happened to all the little people after the events of this episode. Since Ooo is a pretty dangerous place and as shown in Fionna and Cake Blood will definitely be spilled
I think they found a place where they are safe and can live
This episode was like an insane fever dream and was a great insight into Finns mindset at the time, I really enjoyed it especially the part where finn tries to communicate with little finn.
"Uncomfortable" & "eerie" is definitely a relative & subjective feeling on this one... & i do find it interesting that these sentiments are coming from certain people but that's an entirely different discussion. I didn't feel the episode was uncomfortable or eerie, i think what makes you uncomfortable is the aspect of Finn playing god & the implications of that. It should make you think.
This episode was just finn playing tomodachi life but in a cartoon and I love it
I always rember this episode as a kid I thought it would be fun to have living clay toys like Finn but I didn't understand the implications of Finn's meddling especially the one with Lady and how mess up it was. How even with nativity and innocence one is still capable of doing horrible things for the sake of curiousity and selfishness.
I've noticed a lot of this episode was taken out for the UK release, like the spanking scenes, the marcie and peppermint scenes and that small scene where Abracadaniel, lollipop lady and choose goose are tangled and before then when they all hug
This video wasn't supposed to come out till Monday! Looks like somebody left the gates of heaven unlocked and the video slipped out
yo wtf how did this happen
OH MY GOD
JESUS CHRIST!
It truly is a wonderful Christmas
Jesus Christ..
JESUS CHRIST?! ✝️🙏☁️☁️
I never really saw this episode as that creepy or messed up. It's hilarious IMO. With a good lesson to balance your role as a creator and your actual big people life.
In my opinion, one can also interpret a politcal aspect into it, because it shows how dangerous ultimate power can be and how it can easily be corrupted even by the "hero" of the story. People aren't supposed to have that kind of power over others.
I remember watching this one and blurting “…he’s… SHIPPING!”
Magic Man= The media in question
Finn= Fan fiction writers
Little People= The people who are being written about
This is the episode I started to relate (almost) to Finn that from season 6 and onward he was my favorite character because of how relatable he is
I've always thought this was the best AT episode, like, objectively, it's great to see a commentary about it, nice vid
The way the dolls talk is like the adults from old Charlie Brown cartoons
Liking and commenting before I watch cause I’m at workkk 😖
This episode wasn’t aired in Latin America or even dubbed to Spanish. It’s not available in either HBO max or Netflix. Probably CN though the theme was a little too much for kids in other parts of the world.
what the actual fuck i was just opening Anodyne when i clicked on the video and so i heard the title theme from two different places and i had a heart attack😭😭😭
Wah wah wah wah wah wah
This episode is messed up, but we all know we would've done worse in Finn's position
We?
@@GoldenBred
Are you really asking that question on the internet?
@@helixsol7171 yeah we are, most people on the internet are inherently ok, don't blame your perversions on us dude
this is actually my favorite adventure time episode
ive always thought it was objectively the best
Train Dungeon and Hall of Egress are also top character development on Finn's part
You know when I first saw that episode I was like mad at Finn for doing that stuff to the little people and in my mind I wanted to fix it like making a scenario in my head to fix the damage Finn did
Best season five episode, i think this episode shows finn becoming a degenerate. The simulations with the little people are similar to what happens to us with the r34
As a writer this hit deep. I felt it was telling me not to act like a god when writing, but like a friend
NEW AMPLESAMUEL VIDEO WIAJAJSJSJS
i recently rewatched the entire show and i cant remember this episode
Edit: I checked and there are some episodes missing in hbo
Lol, this was always such a strange episode.
12:36 “With great power comes great mental illness”
-Robert “The Whiz” Coleman, fridged enhanced from Jessica Jones S2 E2 “AKA: Freak Accident”
So we know that the lil people exist in there own world right? So 8:40 WHO MADE PB THIS WEIGHTLIFTING EQUIPMENT ?!?!? did Finn make it judging by how it’s made
It was in a bag like drums
I thought the episode reminded me of sims. Especially with the way the little people talk.
damn this was my favorite episode growing up
Absolute power corrupts absolutely
This is literally just the Sims 🙃
Even today I still are freaked out about it
I find this episode depressingly relatable.
I will not elaborate further.
“What the ball man”
Love idea of throuple with choose-goose somehow. All three of them are single in the series, and considering AT being in the future, it makes sense to have more diverse poly representation
I thought it was commentary episode on shipping characters.
This is my favorite adventure time episode
I live this episode: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I think this episode was supposed to be commenting on the concept of shipping
Gods 4th wall break
Finn does the same things i do with ai charactets
I heard some ppl saying that this episode talks about m4sturbati0n bc that scene where Fin takes mini Fin and shakes him. But… this makes more sense, or maybe it could talk about both themes
Why? Can you explain
I don’t see similarity except movements
What
@@user-ws2kb7zh3w Idk how to explain. I guess bc Finn takes mini fin (a part of him, um u know) and shakes it to relieve himself
weirdly I can see what you mean regarding that one part but there's more behind this episode than that
cool
bro went too far in sims
i gotta be honest....i would prob do the same
definitely didn’t make me uncomfy as a teen watching this, it’s more of learning a lesson from someone else’s mistake :3
average sims player
😅
I think the episode is flawed, the little people are way to eager to have romantic relationships
I think magic man just made them like this and not that they resemble how the characters actually are. There were supposed to be little people for Finn to play and experiment with. Maybe to feed the bad side of Finn, make him more controlling over the relationships of others, making him so obsessed that he cares more for this/his skewed reality than anything else.
I was the 1k like lol.
