After scrolling down and reading few comments, I realised that nobody knew this, but this is a real story. A tourist did build a skate park in Janwar, MP.
oh wow i was watching this thinking it was impossible to put in action. good for them!!
NOt a tourist ...... it wa shard work and still is over the course of meanwhile 6 years :-)
A german lady has built it in India, not sure where.

As an Indian, i confirm the elements shown in this movie is true like a conservative society which is not open to unconventional activities like skateboarding and there are men things and women things so a girl on a skateboard is a big NO. Movies like this really makes a better change in people's mind and we need more movies like this.

🎉🎉🎉
Exactly what I was thinking.
Main bhi aayi check karne aaya tha
Yes and no. I agree that it can be culturally great to see other countries and ways of life. It's one of the reasons I love to travel. However, my Netflix already has too many shows/movies that aren't in English or dubbed. I'm cool if they have it dubbed. I watched a great French show last year about an airplane that was dubbed and enjoyed it a lot. However, I can't stand subtitles only. I wish Netflix gave the option to weed those out. So...you may be wondering what that has to do with this movie, since it's in English. Well, if they start cross-marketing even more then I think I'll start seeing more shows with only subtitles. I'm already tired of seeing a great show and reading the description then pressing play only to realize I can't watch it. I just wish they gave us options to weed out certain things if we want. Like shows that are not in English or dubbed. I feel more crossover isn't necessarily a good thing for people that don't love subtitles.
That's cuz poor dirty looking India has an audience in America. It makes Americans feel proud they have so many basic human rights that countries like India don't. You gotta read the world better.
@@terri639 you sound so stupid lmao dubbed movies are the worst it kills the entire vibe but i guess you don’t have enough braincells to read i feel sad for people who only speaks english :/

I was a skateboarder in the early 1960’s in Southern California. Being a girl there was only a few of us. So this movie is exciting to me!!
India(2021) = America (1960) we r lagging 80 years than u guys🤧
@@justsomerandomguy1361 yeah, problem is that India is such a new nation, so there is a lot of room to grow. It’s happening slowly and surely, and every country goes through the growing pains. Unfortunately India was set back by the colonists that it’s almost like starting from scratch compared to where the Kingdoms of India once were. Movies like this though definitely do show that a younger generation with more exposure will help propel India forward. Also this movie looks so good!
@Abhirup Nath well this is bs, compare anything easily we r 40-50 yrs lagging still haven't set foot on moon or rover on Mars.

i think this is based on the life of a young girl skater (asha gond) hailing from the small village of janwaar in central india. it's a truly warm life story, will definitely watch the adaptation!
Yes this village is belongs to panna district at madhay pradesh..

Anything in the world can become your career. All it needs is a good teacher, dedication and hard work.
The importance and impact skateboarding has as a tool for creativity, individuality, self-expression, as well as a means for social change aiding in breaking down old barriers and helping bring together different communities together is an absolutely marvelous thing
Absolutely :)
It's funny from this small trailer, that they have encapsulated what skating does. It allows expression, motivation, inspiration to bloom in all who know and love it. That's why I'll skate till I can't ✌️.
First time I used skateboard was in 1987 in Egypt and it was awesome, brings back nice memories !!
Love this movie so much. Discovered this by chance and stayed up to 4am to watch this. It deserves awards for the sheer beauty of this story. Was refreshing to see something so positive.❤️❤️❤️
From what I understand - this has been released to all countries on Netflix. My friends in India have seen this and love it so much - as I do❤️

Child marriage is a crime. Whether your a girl or boy you can't get married under the age of 18. When your 18 it's up to you if you want to get married or not and no one can stop you. What a movie, tears just streamed out most of it.I quickly acknowledged the childhood i selfishly deemed as horrible is what many kids out there would brave scorching heats for.
I was taking my skate out in New Delhi, man so many people tried to run over because I will get scared was something of an experience when I was there, a lady hit me while reversing and in her defence she did not see me coming. 😂😂
I need to buy a helmet still.

Great to see Indian stories coming out to the world. Am loving this movie already...
I hope this movie becomes the redbull for rural India
The poor people of rural India wont be watching Netflix. May be the well off class.
I'm not a big fan of when Netflix does movies about India, because they always do it from the perspective of a westerner.
i've been to villages in India where girls and boys where skateboarding, it's not considered witchcraft.
Most people in India, IF they are the type to be against skateboarding, would not care whether it's a girl or a boy skateboarding.
They would equally think instead of doing that they should be studying or helping the parents out.
S u r right American films always show india as a poor, uneducated country, they don't know the value of india
@@vigneshgb1549 better u watch indian films that airbrush reality and show india only in a positive light. whether u admit it or not majority of india is poor and majority of indians are daily wage workers. most indians have access to internet only because of cheap price of jio. most indians cant afford netflix either, majority pirate these shows. not accepting reality is not going to develop the country. only when u accept reality that development can take place.
The last line joke was nice....
Gonna watch it for sure
What can I say ? This was a truly beautiful movie. I don't understand Hindi, but I understand skateboarding , I ride a long drop through. It's not just a skateboarding movie it also has a message about following your dreams.

I'm from Bangladesh, Skating is tough over here since we don't have that many skateparks, still, whenever I get time I take my skateboard & roam in the open street. We have a small community and it's growing every day. I dream of a future when there'll be skaters in every corner of this country, also in my neighbour countries as well.
If you're not skating, buy urself a skateboard and go outside. It's the best feeling ever, Period.
