It depends upon load type and bearing capacity of soil. You need to put your efforts to go upto the hard strata. However it totally depends upon soil testing.
Yup absolutely its depend on soil types But If i tell u the depth we take normally for excavation for a residential building upto (3,4 floor) i.e (4Feet) in case of footing
