Luca Aerni positively JETS 5 gates from the end to "catch" Hirscher. Hirscher is not "slowing down", per se, he just isn't as fast through this combination. I love this stuff. The Worlds at St. Moritz had it all. Excellent video and thanks for posting!
Hirscher was in the lead all the time till the end. He is half a meter ahead of aerni when they pass the goal line but you have to check the single videos not this overlay. The single videos shows a slightly different picture than this weired overlay, that's the reason why the poles etc. are not matching well. Look at the womans downhill race in crans montana Feb. 2019 where the clock didn't work coincidentally at all Swiss woman, by a Swiss time taking agency in Switzerland and where we have (also) proofed that they were slower but get promoted to better positions bec. of this irregularities.
