Call me biased because I've owned three Mazdas (including the one above) and have loved every single one of them! Absolutely amazing quality and reliability for the price.
We bought two including the CX-5, considering the CX-9

I considered Mazda CX-5, Acura RDX, Audi Q5, Cadillac in 2019. Bought the Signature CX5 and I’ve been very very happy. In fact, the only reason I had some remorse, was that here in Southern California, the CX5 was so popular, I felt a little like a me to. But .. fact is, it is such a wonderful car, having the turbo and refined interior. I remain extremely happy with the car.
I just put about 1,000 miles on a rented AWD CX-5 when moving my daughter out of her college apartment and I was blown away. It’s gorgeous inside and out, held much more than I thought it could possibly hold, and was smooth, comfortable, handled great, and was a blast to drive. I didn’t want to give it back. Honestly, this is now very high on my list for when it comes time to replace my GTI. I seriously loved this car. My one gripe - fuel economy could have been better, but I did have the car fully loaded and may have driven at speeds well above posted freeway limits. If you drive it, I’m betting you’ll like it.
We bought the Carbon CX-5... lots of tech ... moon roof , Bose sound , etc ... love it ..oh yeah red leather seats too. !!!
I just bought the Carbon Mazda6 a few days ago, couldn’t be happier!
We just got a Carbon Edition Cx 5 Turbo with all black inside, get to pick it up this Friday. Went to look at a Touring preferred package and they had the Carbon there and the Carbon won.
@@teslarocks7345 nice haha
thats whatt i wanted
I went with CX-5 Carbon Turbo w Red interior. Impressive vehicle. And this is coming from someone who test drove everything under the sun up to $60k in the segment and has owned several super super nice sports cars.
Wildly impressed with this vehicle at $33,335. Wow!
My husband just brought me a Mazda CX-5 and I love it,I love Mazda soo much I talked my husband into trading his pathfinder in for a Mazda 6 with turbo and he love it.
Which trim, and what's the mpg on it?
A great Mazda SUV for Boston, Miami etc..... I like also the power and Torque.... cool video ... Thank you dude.
I bought a new 2020 CX-5 Signature over a year and a half ago and absolutely love it!
It’s worth adding the drive and handling are fun 🤩
Before deciding what brand to buy, we rented a variety of mid size suvs on road trips to see how we liked them. The CX 5 won hands down against the competition. We were particularly impressed with the acceleration and nimble handling characteristics. The cabin is comfortable, very quiet, and the final surprise was it gets better mileage than my former Passat wagon. No regrets on our purchase of a 2021.
Just curious, what other cars did you rent by the way?
Hoping to pick up my CX-5 gray metallic signature on Saturday...Can’t wait!!!
Bought one 12/31/2021 and I LOVE it.
Love my 2021 Mazda CX-5 Eternal Micah Blue!!!!
The Mazda Cx5 and Hyundai Tucson look hella sporty and way better than Toyota and Honda. Love the CX5 and Tucson.
Wish they would put a pano roof in the vehicles 😊
I love my Cx5 turbo carbon edition!
Can’t wait for the next gen cx5 in 2022 please Mazda add led front and rear sequential turn signals, welcome lights on the door handles when approaching the vehicle at night and also ambient interior lighting make it happen Mazda.
the good thing about Mazda is they don't use CVT
@@henrytran9832 CVTs give a strange feeling and are possibly not as reliable
AMEN! Had a Prius v wagon with CVT and HATED it. But I wish my CX-5 GT Reserve had an 8 speed automatic.
"CVTs give a strange feeling..." YEP, like a fucking rubber band transmission - only sometimes connected to your inputs, and then only vaguely.
there is nothing bad about CVT. people just take time to adapt to new tech similar to when a child eats something new many times it hate it initially but later like it
@@henrytran9832 this means that more things could go wrong quicker with a CVT because there are more repeated parts movements of parts within the system and wear and tear can happen quicker than in other types of transmissions , which means durability and reliability might not be as good.
CVT = weak
BTW, there a LOT of nice aftermarket mods for the CX-5, from lighted door sill plates to roof racks, trunk privacy cover, Cork Sport turbo piping and intercooler, oil catch can, K&N drop-in air filter and many quality interior dress-up parts from Ali Express, all very reasonably priced.
Trading in my 2019 GT Turbo model for the 2021 today. Looking forward to it. The dealer gave me an offer I couldn't say no to. After going over all the numbers, decided to just do it. Picking it up later this afternoon :)
Hey how do you like it so far? I am back and forth between cx5 and rav4 hybrid
@@pedrot1152 I love it. The gas mileage seems better than my 2019 so far. And just love the sporty feel of the drive. If you're the kind of person who likes their car to have some power and pretty good pick up, give the cx5 with the turbo engine a test drive. You won't be disappointed.
@@MG-im8ku great thanks. Yeah i will definitely have a test drive for the T. Edition. Feel a bit back and forth as well with the turbo for a long term (after few years. Always heard to replace a turbo is expensive if something happens) as well the resale value of the Mazda VS Toyota. Did you had this in consideration as well?
@@pedrot1152 no problem. I did put those into consideration. Turbo engines are much more reliable as they used to be, as long as you keep up with the maintenance like oil changes and whatnot. Their engine tech is great. If you are concerned, just make sure you get the engine covered for extended period under warranty. When it comes to depreciation, Toyota's are better for that as they don't depreciate as much. But Mazda's aren't so bad when it comes to it either. I made the pick of the car I enjoyed more when it came to that one factor, because in the end I wanted to be happy with what I was driving and not settle for something I didn't like as much. Also keep in mind mazda and Toyota have very close ties. They share some manufacturing facilities from what I know, and alot of their engineering is shared between the two companies as well.
Our 2003 mazda 6 has only 51,000 miles on it. Still shiny from being kept in the garage. It has never needed repair, it doesn’t know it’s 17 years new.
The greatest vehicle ever made...
Definitely looking at a Mazda as my next vehicle. May take a little, but want one in that beautiful Soul Red Crystal! Nice video btw👍🏽
I own the 2021 Soul Red CX-5. It's beautiful and fast. 2 things I look for in a car.
I bought the 2021 cx5 carbon edition turbo man this cx5 is sexy
@@CARLITOS4259 I do like the black accents on the carbon edition and the red seats. I just wish they would give the option to have the red with the black accents and the red seats on the inside. If they let you do that, I’d run to the nearest Mazda dealership and throw all my money at them lol
@@Sam___________ I bought it black interiors with red stitching i don't like the red interior that color gets dirty quickly
I got the soul red with dark brown interior and love it. My engineer nephew talked my into it No regrets
Great value. Interior is on par w Audi. Infotainment isn’t best, but once adjusted to it there’s not an issue
BTW I bought the turbo, way fun
Love my gtr cx5
I have a 2013 cx-5 and my next car will also be a cx-5, short of an electric mazda crossover I don't see myself getting any other vehicle
Don't get the electric one yet brother
Only problem with Mazda is the depreciation which is mainly due to the company selling so many as fleet vehicles to the car rental companies. Because of the buyback agreement manufacturers buyback older models from the car rental companies thereby allowing them to buy new models. Auto manufacturers then sell the older models to auto auction companies who flood the used car market which deprecates your resale value by thousands of dollars.
The Chinese stock of CX-5 is somewhat reduced and do not have turbo engine, but yet it is still an amazing car, extremely driver friendly, hud and CarPlay works like a charm
How’s that base engine
waiting for the new redesign cx5
Huge shortage of CX-5's in my area creating limited choices and high prices. As a side note, I am observing all the dealership lots in the city are nearly vacant of new cars and I have seen a lot of new car tags on all makes/models.
Funny here in Northwest Illinois we had a lot to chose from. I feel like we will be the first in this area with a Carbon Edition Turbo.
@@teslarocks7345 In Louisiana, we will be the very last. The few we have are demanding at or near MSRP. No good deals on any good vehicles in this state. All the so called "good deals" are for vehicles no one wants.
@@bp39047 Rockford, Il the only Mazda dealer close to us 36 miles away. They have 21 Cx 5's on the lot.
Was 22 but we drove off with the Carbon, the only one they had.
@@teslarocks7345 Glad you found one. :)
Most all of the 12 dealerships have near empty new and used car lots near me. They tell me the chip shortage situation is creating this mess.
Reliable wise the Mazda is a better than Toyota and Honda and more fun to drive and better comfort seating own one and you will understand what we mean
Oh stop
Now Toyota & Honda is way behind Mazda🤣
The only thing not to like about the CX5 is the cargo space. Thats all!!
Perfect for a single person.Toyotas Rav4 is getting way too big .
The honda crv cargo capacity throws mazda's cargo out of park...I have mazda I always think thats where I could had more
How about the back seats ?heard the back is very limited .
I just bought a red cx-5 touring. I’m just a single young professional though.
Your point?
both CX 5 and Rav4 use conventional A/T which is great
Mazda Cx5 or toyota Rav4 hybrid (both with AWD) for a Seattle weather and landscape?
CX5 turbo no doubt, the interior is way ahead of the RAV4 in quality and premium look
Venza
Toyota - much more refined.
@@golferadam12 The Mazda is more reliable... usnews.com/news/us/articles/2020-11-19/mazda-no-1-in-consumer-reports-2020-auto-reliability-survey ... and has better performance and handling than the Hybrid, which weighs 700 lbs more than the CX-5.
CX-5: I am Practical
Pacifica: Hold my trunk lid
Where was this Mazda CX-5 manufactured for American market?
The current generation CX-5 is made in Japan.
If mazda build paranamic sunroof sure become over sales than Hyundai & Kia even Honda Mazda stubit co ,
I have one best decision ever.by European and USA cars
😍
No update for bigger panoramic sunroof, touching screen car player, wireless charger, foot sensor for back open
Does it have remote start now?
Yes! Via the Mazda app.
@@kennonharris8926 yes! But it’s an additional monthly cost 💲
@@Rolomog1972 don't they have a three year trial period
why isnt there a touch screen though what would be the theory behind not including that
Safety. Mazda find a touch screen too distracting.
From all reports, the dial is fast & efficient once you get used to it.
My wife drives a CX-5 and I drive a Tucson. We both prefer the Tucson. The Tucson has a sportier feel (less roll) and feels much smoother shifting due to the double clutch. Also, there are so many annoyances with the CX-5. The brakes squeak continually at lower speeds (this is a known issue that they have not solved for years). You can't use the touchscreen when driving faster than ~10 mph. And the blind spot detection is way too conservative (sounds the false alert even if you are ~8 car lengths ahead of the other vehicle). The tail lights are so dim I thought there was something wrong with them until the service dept said that is a frequent complaint. We had to replace them with aftermarket LEDs. It's a beautiful car inside and out, and the service department is stellar, but there are so many annoyances... we just don't see ourselves driving a Mazda again in the future.
Who’ll chose Tucson over cx5 this thing is ugly as hell
I have the CX-5 and have none of the issues you mention. Brakes don't squeak, screen works fine and why would you use it while driving, keep your hands on the steering wheel and concentrate on driving the car anyway. Blind spot is detection fine and definitely not 8 car lengths. Tail lights are perfect unlike some cars who have them so bright they blind you.
I really can't understand where you are coming from if we have the same cars.....
You don’t have a CX-5. Because CX-5 don’t have touchscreen and yet you said “You can not use the touchscreen when driving faster than 10 mph”. Hehe. Exposed.
@@espedale heihei
@@kailiu4963 touch screen is there. It doesn’t operate when the vehicle is in motion.
It's fact the CX 5 has the smallest cargo room
Theyre better without Ford in control
Someone should take a poll. Have many people are buying these crossovers without really needing them
It’s a cookie cutter world and everyone hops on board. I’ll stick with the firmly planted sedan
I had a similar thinking, but the advantages of SUVs are lot more than just a weather thing. Space, potholes on the streets, better visibility, better and easier reach form outside because of the height, better reach for the groceries in the trunk, a lot more safety, better for the beach / countryside / mountain... and added to all of that, the weather benefit. The practicallity + safety + height + easier reach is just too good compared to sedans.
Sedans take road imperfections better. No body roll. Ladder just to wash. Poorer mpg
@@MrMuchachos75 totally agree with mpg, even tho I don’t care about it. The CX5 takes imperfections a lot better than Mercedes C200 (by own experience). So very poor arguments in favor of the sedan. Finally, if you purchase a vehicle of this price, please do not wash it yourself. Take care of the painting.
When you have two dogs and need to transport them regularly and don't want to stoop over for the groceries because you're 6'4'', an SUV makes sense. SUV's do most of the things a sedan does, and does them better.
@@ClaudioAguileraMunoz actually, wash it PROPERLY yourself and take it to an auto detailer once or twice a year.
There's no touch pad though.....
Simple, not simplistic. Better word choice.
Too expensive markup
Much smaller than crv.
CRV looks outdated. This one is far better
In my opinion the cx5 is not a family car .Too small. If you have a family go with the cx9 or CRV .
My 2019 CX5 Signature is not a very well made car, it is more "smoke and mirrors" than substance. Cheaply made components e.g., seats and seat railing, rear view mirror, engine, electronics (half the time the system doesn't boot up correctly), rusting chassis parts, cheap narrow tires, paint quality...plus - plus!
I smell a troll.
And you have no idea what you are talking about.
To add on, fuel economy is poor , the same class with Subaru forester. Such engine 2.4l can't achieve better fuel economy unless they downsize it. May be produce a 2.0l or even less. If the car has poor fuel economy while new except it to be more worth when it gets older. However, its a very punchy engine
The car is awesome...but it has one big issue: the leather seats are horrible..hard, firm...
No there not. I have the same leather seats in my 2015 mazda3. Been from Toronto to New York twice and Toronto to Cleveland twice. I have sat in the back while others drive, I have slept in my car. The seats are comfortable, very nice support for me. I’m 6’0 and I have no issues with seating
The review is about the CX-5.
You have a Mazda3 and i have a CX5, so your comparing is not approved.
And by the way, the seats from Mazda3 are not the same as in the CX5.
Anyway, my feedback is super real, trust me, the leather seats top trim in the CX-5 are not ok.
@@Adriano-dl2eh my wife has a 2016 Mazda CX-5. Same underpinnings. Same engine and transmission, same basic suspension.
Seat bottoms on cx5 top trims are like seating on expensive leather bleachers. Lovely to touch & smell, but literally a pain in the backside. Seat bottoms are also short,.needs simple thigh extensions and deeper softer cushioning. The 2019 up Mazda 3 seats are more comfortable < need to be wider 4 an SUV.
@@kevinW826 We are talking about the seats, not the transmission, engine or suspension. We are only talking about the seats from the trim level, wich are not ok.
