I've had the same problem with a lot of my prints. I use PLA filament and it will definitely melt in the sun. I've ruin SO many parts because I just forget to check on it. I've about got it down to a science now though, paint it outside in the hot sun, let it bake for about 10-15 minutes, then bring inside to finish curing. When it gets to about an hour outside is when I start to notice sagging in the pla. 🤘

Looks sweeeeet!!! I'm sure there's a wheel and tire combo out there that'll fit! I love where you're going with this build! As much as I love crawlers, I definently envision this build as a slammed down sleeper/resto-mod/rat-rod hybrid! Keep up the amazing work Bro! 🤜

Traxxas Bandit front wheels are a 2.2 but the pin locates directly into the wheel no hex. I've used them on 190mm onroad chassis turning them into big rim drifters in the past because of the narrow offset! Absolutely no idea if there still available but they would look awesome on that burb!

I had a crack in my body and found that after doing the shoe goo thing on the inside, I used Bondo glazing spot putty, stuff that comes in the tube and it covered the cracks. I ended up just leaving the bondo and used a stencil brush to tap in some grey chalk board paint to look like somebody sprayed primer over it. Just a thought if the body ends up cracking, looks really good.

Awesome video! That body really looks nice with that patina. I believe that body is from Scale 3D RC. While their bodies are not the most detailed or dimensionally accurate, the files are priced very reasonably and they have tons of options to choose from. If you've got a 3D printer, you can make a nice hard body for as little as like $30 for the files and some cheap PLA filament (just don't leave it in the sun too long 😆). In addition to the low cost, they have tons of unique bodies that are unlikely to ever be produced by larger manufacturers. I'm not holding my breath waiting for Proline or RC4WD to come out with a Chevy LUV or AMC Eagle wagon body 😛. I've got a Pathfinder body from them I'm currently building on a MST chassis. Looking forward to seeing what you do with that Suburban. I won't shed any tears if the Cybertruck gets dumped. 👍

regarding the material it is printed in, it is with 97% certainty PLA, as it can not withstand so much heat before it starts to deform

Bummer with the warping. I have noticed on our printed parts that if they are thin wall they like to move a lot with heat. our first one we did I left it in the back of the truck with a covered canopy for a couple of hours and the while roof slumped. I think it looks great though! These 3d printed bodied sure are a fun PITA! lol..

Ditch the Tesla and waste the money on something fun like parts. Donated my printed Hilux body to the local drift club when I moved and the bonnet sagged while it was in my van on a hot day. PLA is ok for bodys and parts, just can't leave it out in the heat
