One of my tour prep projects I set out to accomplish and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I’ve seen so many videos like this of army’s customizing their Army Bombs and I always am in awe of the result - I wanted to see if I could replicated it on the nachimbong. I actually can’t believe the shine on this thing (especially in the sun), and I am absolutely in love. I think I worked on this for a total of about 28 hours. Had I chose not to wrap everything, it would be been much quicker but, ya know ~commitment issues~. My back may never recover, but it was worth it…I think lol
I tried my best to film what I could and to stay in frame, as well as talk through my process a little bit even though I said this wasn’t a tutorial. If you try this out yourself, I wish you luck! It’s a time consuming project, but well worth the effort!

✧ MATERIALS USED ✧
- Official Nachimbong (나침봉) Lightstick
- E6000 Glue (this glue worked for this project, and it was convenient as I already had it on hand, however, if I were to do this again, I would definitely look for a different glue to use. This would often times make glue strings across the stones or become really gummy in some places. There's still glue residue on some stones which I'm sure you can see in the close-ups I was not able to get off.. I’m sure there are better alternatives!)

It looks AMAZING!! I didnt decorate mine bc I didnt want to do anything permanent either but I never would've thought of using that adhesive paper, such a good idea! I'll remember that in case there's a next time lol

Exactly the video I needed. I just ordered my new Lightiny for the upcoming ATEEZ concert and I want to bedazzle it with peach rhinestones. The vinyl idea is PERFECT because you don't have to worry about ruining the lightstick.

Thank you! It definitely took up a couple of my weekends, but once you get into the groove of it, it was nice to kinda zone out with it
Okay I know this is a year and a half too late but in the future, if you use E6000 please use a respirator and do it in a well ventilated area 😅 it has toxic fumes that are really bad to inhale so please be safe :)
As a side note though, it looks great! It turned out really well ❤

I like your choice of diamond painting beads every bit as well as the black crystals I've seen used on other bands light sticks. Well done, there!
I deliberated and then customized my Nachimbong permanently in a Maniac theme. Now that the concert is over, I could not be happier to have done so. If I get the opportunity to attend another concert ((fingers crossed)) I plan to customize a new light stick in celebration! (Now... what to do about the light stick stand?)
When I got started with the black stones, I wondered if I had made a mistake by not using more "traditional" crystals, but after being done with it, I really don't think there is much of a difference, especially with it being black, haha. I may feel differently if it were a different color, but I think for this, it worked just fine!
I had every intention of ripping mine off when tour was over, but I'm now facing the dilemma of wanting to keep it "maniac-ified" for the tour memories. I also like the possible idea of decorating a new lightstick for every new tour opportunity. Feels like a little time capsule for that tour and that time in your life 💚

does vinyl doesn't leave sticky marks when you remove it?
The specific vinyl I got is labeled as "removable" so it shouldn't! If it happens to leave residue though, you can wipe it down with rubbing alcohol and it'll take the stickiness away

I really thought I would never want to decorate my lightsticks cause I don't wanted to do anything permanent but it seems like with this vinyl sticker paper I just can take it off so i have the regular design under it? I have so many questions how this works cause I have no idea and no experience in designing lightsicks. So it would be really cool if you could answer some of my questions :)

Yep, you can see me turn it on towards the end and I had it turned on during all of my concert stops! 💚
What would you recommend as the best tip with gluing the stones, ive been dipping my gems in glue but it is time consuming
I'm not sure how much more time saving it is, but I did a line of glue across the section I was working on and was able to place a bunch of stones right in a row while it was still tacky. I still had to go section by section because the glue would dry quickly, but yeah, doing a line may work better than individually gluing each backing!

Adding rhinestones definitely weighs it down so it's harder to spin, but if you're careful opening up the globe, it should be fine! But I totally get it. It seems like its so fragile 😔
I still have to finish decorating mine I have a week to do it!

Random question I’m trying to get the plastic to open to get the insert out so I can mould it, but the plastic will only open on one side. The other side won’t pop open so I’m unsure of what to do, any tips ?

I'm seeing this a bit late, but I'm glad you were finally able to get into it! It definitely feels like you're gonna break it if you put too much pressure to one side, put hopefully it'll open up easier the more you mess around with it. Good luck with your mould making~

It was actually a birthday gift from a friend two years ago when I first started to get into the kids. You can buy them though through offical shops (soundwave, jyp shop, subkshop, musicplaza, etc.)
does the app work for anyone? the concert im going to is in 1 day but when i connect my lightstick to the app it connects then asks to update and after i update it it wont connect. also there arnt any new dates i can connect to
Hi! I know this is late, but unfortunately they dont really sync the app with the lightstick in the US like they do in Korea or online concerts. I think its just a different system and with less control over what they can do. I hope you had a great time!

@@staybear yeah, you can select red, green or blue when you connect to the app generally, but doesnt change colors to match the stages like in korea! I wish they did because it would be so pretty! The green was a good idea to match them color theme~

you can also spin it as you customized it during a time that made sense to do so, and it was with the intent of turning it into something you would enjoy even more than you already did! 💛
